Borat
Superbad

this movie was ahead of it's time. literally everything it mocked became reality

that toby maguire section was excellent

First R-rated movie my dad took me to, one of my favorites.

i wouldn't call it iconic but i feel like dodgeball gets slept on

It's definitely iconic. I still think of RDJ's performance to this day.

It’s awful, but RDJ makes it fantastic.

it's cliche as fuck, but ditto this. almost everything it predicted has come to fruition. and the world keeps turning.

Borat and Superbad I might give you, but there's no way Bruno or Zoolander are on the same level as Tropic Thunder

The best part of this is the backstage RDJ footage, think what an offensive lasagna looks like, the guy offends several groups in the most hilarious way possible, including stuck up holier than thou actors themselves, absolute psycho.

I don't think you could get away with making it today, crazy how much things have changed since then

even the Hangover is more remembered

zoolander is a cult classic senpai

Yeah I agree it is, but Tropic Thunder is a full on classic

I might need to rewatch it then , I rewatched zoolander too and it was still absolutely hilarious . btw add dodgeball to my list

Lav Tropic Thunder
Lav Dodgeball
Lav Anchorman
Lav Superbad

Ate Borat
Ate Zoolander
Ate Step Brothers

top 3 that i can think of. what am i missing

Talladega, Step Bros, Anchorman, or Pinapple Express

Ok just about how many layers was this film deep into? RDJ characters hints at it by the "I'm the Dude Playing a Dude Disguised as Another Dude" the last dude(3rd) is the black vietnam sargeant character, the previous dude is RDJ actor character that got surgically melanine'd and the first dude is... RDJ himself or what? Or maybe we are watching a movie of the movie in the movie's universe (remember we are presented by trailers at the beginning) so the events we are watching is actually a movie of the dramatized events that happened when the official real vietnam movie in the movie's universe was botchered.

Also Wedding Crashers

>the dude
Actor
>playing a dude
Black sergeant
>Disguised as another dude
Rice farmer

this is before they disguise themselves IIRC to infiltrate the village.

The music swelling as Ben Stiller has squib after squib go off on his chest will never fail to crack me the fuck up.

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story is funnier than any movie mentioned in this thread.

fuck you're right.

I've never particularly liked Dodgeball because it had every right to be much, much funnier than it is. And Ben Stiller plays an identical yet inferior version of his character in Heavyweights. Also, I just don't like Vince Vaughn. His only good roles are Jurassic Park: The Lost World and Hacksaw Ridge. Him as a comedy star was a forced meme if I've ever seen one.

what do you mean "became"? everything it's mocking was reality when it came out. that's why it was in the movie.

thats not anchorman

>Underrated kino coming thru
underrated flicks aren't really relevant to a thread about iconic ones. there are plenty of great movies that don't qualify as "iconic". pic related was a funny ass movie from the 00's too, but if nobody saw it can't be "iconic".

I'd probably drop talladega nights, accepted and AP2 from that list for the reasons above. Funny movies, but not in contention for "most iconic". They're all overshadowed by other similar ones.

again, not the point. most people didn't even see that until it was on tv

fuck you, faggot. most people are fucking dumb.

Stepbrothers is on a higher quality-tier I'd say. That's a consistently funny movie. Consistancy is the key I think, I laugh constantly at Tropic Thunder, but Talledega Nights and Superbad have some lulls and some jokes that don't land very well.

you misunderstand. OP said tropic thunder is the most iconic comedy of the 00's. not that it's the highest quality or the funniest. it doesn't actually matter if dewey cox is funnier, because it's certainly not more iconic. how many times have you overheard somebody quoting it in public? now compare to the main ones in this thread, which are mostly things *everybody* has seen.

New Kids Turbo annihilates any movie posted ITT without even trying. Anyone who disagrees is a homo
