It's a modern fantasy action movie, that doesn't try to be more than modern fantasy action movie.
The plot of the first one is "John Wick kills everyone hiding the guys that kill his dog"
Second one is "John Wick has to kill more people because of the people he killed in the first one"
Third one is "John Wick has to kill more people because of the guy he killed in the first one"
And most likely the fourth one will be "John Wick has to kill everyone that is after John Wick because of the people he killed on the last one"

I feel like I'm going crazy because I watched it recently and he clearly says 80GB/160GB with a doubler/was supposed to get upgraded to 320GB but didnt - but I could swear it was more like MB than GB when I saw the movie back in the 90's. Did they go back and dub in some larger numbers to make it sound more plausible? I could swear it was originally just shy of 1GB with the doubler.

oh i love the aesthetics too but the japanese cut improves on it significantly while retaining everything that was good about the western cut.
