The show is doing very well in the ratings but the actors are approaching 50 years old user (they started in their 20s). Wow a supernatural thread. So I recently started rewatching the show and it made me appreciate all the little things I missed out on when I was younger.
One of the greatest positives of the show imo is how well they handle the non supernatural parts(like the feds confronting the brothers in the 1st and 2nd seasons).
The other major positive is how well they blend horror and humor. I mean there are so many scenes which transition from terrifying to hilarious within moments and it is executed superbly.

Charmed is a show of two halves.

S1-3 was written by women, for women. It's sisterhood and wicca and gay shit like that, but it has interesting plotlines and cool villains.

S4-7 was written by guys for normies. It's all superpowers and explosions and the main characters in pseudo-fetish costumes. It introduces retarded power creep and "magic school that is legally different enough from Hogwarts that we won't be sued".

S8 is hot garbage but it does have a young Kaley Cuoco being insanely hot and intermittently homicidal.

Nah. I always loved biblical/occult/apocalypse stuff. Supernatural was the first one that focused on it (Buffy developed its own mythos and shied away from explicit Bible and Judeo-Christian lore despite using crosses and holy water and a catholic exorcism for Angel) and had impressive longevity. Now witchcraft and magic should be an easy sell but often, shows throw away the lore aspect for drama, which I don’t like. I don’t mind drama but it has to be balanced. I need the supernatural aspects to be integral to the story and not just an added quirk

They had this weird la llorona/woman in white for a halloween episode (but never used ghosts again), a sulfuric demon thing, a golem brought to life by a rabbi (aired after Supernatural did the golem episode), a nature spirit (haven’t reached this part yet), and apparently their final boss is a satan analog from a different dimension or something like that. They are very few and far in between though. Majority are mundane animalistic monsters/furries. Incidentally, some of the episodes I enjoyed the best are those that are more supernatural in nature kek

Pure occult? Buffy/Angel, but even then it's its own thing, with its own lore, etc. But the progression, character development, apocalyptic arcs are very much in the same alley.
With Sci-Fi? X-Files. Although just a matter of personal taste, I really just prefer fantasy over sci-fi. TXF disappoints me in some episode when they come up with a pseudo scientific explanation (i.e., Jersey Devil is a hominid, or a nursing home full of ghosts is arguably due to hallucinogenic mushrooms in their diet)

I will add however, that Die Hand Die Verletzt and X-Cops from X-Files are fucking fantastic MOTWs that involves the literal devil, and an unknowable creature/disease/entity that takes the form of your worst fear and kills you but disappears once day breaks. Honestly, what kills the X-Files for me really is how it jumps from occult to sci-fi and aliens. My field and profession is science oriented, I watch shows for escapism
