Women became wealthier and more independent in Japan and the result was that the female fandom became a power in its own right. It didn't try to imitate the male fandom or take it over, they focused on their own female interests and female things but now had the spending money to lure corporate interests to their camp. As a result there is now a flourishing competition between male and female fandoms in Japan while in America we have a death struggle for control of the male fandom space because western women are deranged cunts.
