Why did people think these movies were so good again?
Why did people think these movies were so good again?
ayy yo is dis da first meme my mane man?
Did you read and/or watch the movies? I think you did and are just looking to argue with strangers.
I did and there was almost nothing memorable in the movie aside from the spider chase in the forest, the part where he’s in the pit at the bottom with a shit ton of gold coins and he’s fighting a snake or dragon, or the part where he’s running barefoot and the splinters keep hurting him.
Basically, lots of people were growing up when they read/watched Harry Potter, and they saw the characters grow up alongside them. The movies are sort of like a power fantasy for them. "Look these kids are dealing with the same things I am, but they're like magic and stuff!"
fucking spoilers you bionic bitch! some of us CUNTS haven't seen the movies yet im still reading the books you basically reuined fucking 20 years of my life cus I was readin them and also wanting to watch the movies afterward i fuck you and i make fuck to your mother!
Because they are.
“Yes!”
They start getting really bad really quickly around number 4. But for the first movie they got a lot of good child actors, they did a great job at designing the sets, they had some spooky scenes while still being "family friendly", they had John effing Williams writing his heart out, they sported some pretty good CGI. It's not a masterpiece but it's the sort of movie that I think could get kids interested in how movies are made.
>Castle with secret rooms and artifacts
>Adventure and friendship
>Comfortable isolated places and amazing foods
>Literally Wizards and Magic
>A school but it's actually interesting and learning is fun
That's freakin' awesome to imagine as a kid.
But we're adults now, so no fun allowed.
I wonder if there's some kind of pattern about which people found these movies good
It appealed to children and pedophiles.
Harry Potter is the most blank state character of all fiction, so he can't be hatd and is relatable to 100% of the childrens
That is why he was so popular
it's because men are more high-minded and logical whereas women are emotional and superficial.
The first three movies are comfy fantasy. You don't care about the characters or plots you just want to see magic and shit.
Once the series went full grimderp they lost all the appeal.
I mean the dude's list is still pretty pleb but at least there's some real movies on there
The earlier ones were decent kids' movies, although poorly acted until Azkaban. Azkaban and the one after it are actually quite good.
The last three are a bunch of gibberish and literally who cares. Just endless plot devices and patting itself on the back and running around chasing Horcruxes or whatever the fuck.
Plus the cinematography of the last three is in that awful 2009 - 2011 teal and orange bluray color grading aesthetic, when it isn't all brown and gritty to signify 'seriousness' and 'maturity'.
the 4th 5th and 6th films have some of the best and most magic
The grimdark turn in the mid to late 00s was one of the worst things. So profoundly bland.
Jesus christ just post it already
Glad it's over. Looks like even Warner Bros is finally abandoning it. Corny fucks. Not that I like its main mainstream competitor - quipshit.
Because they were really great movies compared to all the other blockbusters that usually get made. Zoomer thread
Pleb opinion. The books went full grimdark if anything first, you're a retard. the fifth book is extreme tone change, it's matched very well in the film. 6 is kino.
