The first one was literally acclaimed for long, continuous shots of action. It did not cut the fuck out of everything at all. Don't recall the second doing that either. Did they change something in the third?

Body count action flicks with actual stunts/fighting that are R rated and not scared to throw in some nastier kills from time to time. Even when franchises start out this way they end up going the way of Expendables and Taken. 2 movies in it becomes about explosions and bloodless toothless violence in persuit of the almighty PG13.
At their best the John Wick films are 7/10s but thats still leagues above any of the other action hollywood makes these days.
