How do you think this film would have done if it was released today?
Lord of the Rings
Would've done even better because it would have been a breath of fresh air compared to all the bullshit superhero movies.
Does this timeline include all the movies inspired by it following it's release?
Amazing I just finished it an hour ago
pic related would basically be every day
Before you go on to cry about black people, just remember, this film wasn't made by 'white people', it was made by New Zealanders and the book was written by a brit.
You filthy mutts can't take any racial pride in it because you had nothing to do with it.
You're behaving like niggers when you hold this as some talisman of your amerimutt white pride bullshit.
It's basically
>we waz filmmakerz and sheet
There would probably have been a fantasy boom still because of Harry Potter.
Shut the fuck up nigger lol
Would have been protested by BTFO lefties because it has no diversity
sweetie
What do you mean? Technically there were more non-whites than whites in the trilogy.
Theres shit ton of orcs in it.
ps2 graphics cave troll would've been memed no doubt
No African-American halflings and all the bad guys are black. Ta-Nehisi Coates awards -1/10.
It would be seen as completely racist and non-inclusive and the director and cast would have to issue apologies, and the sequels would completely 180 the plot and add new black and asian characters who end up being more importand and more heroic than the other characters.
I wish I was joking but I honestly believe it would go something like that.
these films are and always will be incredible
the filmmaking is top notch and the music is absolutely incredible
the only speedbump would be the lack of diversity
progressives today would be throwing a fit over this shit, luckily it came out when it did
Why do incels keep telling me some guy wrote LOTR?
>lord of the rings trilogy
The original dishonest 3. Peter Jackson’s bid for Star Wars-esque greatness. A gratuitous bombardment of grotesque imagery and piss-colored cinematography. Feigned action sequences and a dishonest score meant to translate the illusion of an epic scale but only becomes evident of the filmmakers lack of an actual grandiose presentation.
Frodo is a nauseating and borderline irritating protagonist to fall witness to—the forced cinematic endurance tests he places on the audience only tolerable by the likability of his costar Sean Astin who’s interpretation of Sam is embracing but almost ruined by the misplaced gay undertones the director unintentionally brews underneath each scene because he’s a nerd that can’t properly elicit on-screen broship resulting in an inadvertent atmosphere of outright romanticism. (A trait the recent Star Wars sequels suffer from in regards to Poe Dameron and Finn/FN2187). Granted there’s nothing wrong with gay relationships of course but it’s obvious such a narrative choice wasn’t intentional by the storytellers.
Then there’s Aragorn, a role so draining and useless it basically pseudo-retired the actor who portrayed him. The character isn’t the one in the books but basically a facelift of Mel Gibson’s Braveheart performance.
Unironically a trio of one of the worst films ever made, which is why Peter Jackson came back to do The Hobbit films in an attempt to right his wrongs but basically ended up stealing the blueprint of the Star Wars prequels which is ironically a better set of films by the masterful George Walton Lucas Jr.

It's capeshit but with medieval people
I just watched the trilogy over the last couple days, and I have some thoughts: Generally speaking, I found the battles fairly weak. Say what you want about GOT, but most of their battles were way more fun to watch than any battle in LOTR.
I don't know if it's the same in the books, because I've never read them, but it feels like the heroes are repeatedly down and out only be to be saved at the last minute. It gets tired after the first time.
Gollum returning at Mt Doom out of fucking nowhere after falling a mile to what should've been his death was stupid as shit. If you were going to do that bullshit you could've just skipped Gollum leading Frodo to the giant spider and Frodo's subsequent capture by the orcs altogether.
It fundamentally misrepresents world history by associating the Shire and it’s underdog inhabitants with Britain. Tolkien and consequently Jackson try to expiate the past by showing Brits coming to the aid of European civilisation (Rohan and Gondor) against the Eastern/non-white threat.
Of course, as we understand in 2019, Britain has always operated more like Mordor - the vision in Lothlorien of the Shire overrun by orcs reflects Africa, India or Australia overrun by imperialists and colonists and injected with the toxic stain of industry and the subjugation of the rightful owners of the land. The Lord of the Rings is fundamentally dishonest about the place of Britain in the early 20th century.
I hope that they remake this and challenge audiences by casting the Hobbits with Africans, the Elves (with their ancient wisdom) with Chinese
Actors, and other minorities as the men, dwarves and Gandalf.
Go back to your gated French Villa, Moorcock

Are you talking about got or lotr?
It's more about white people complaining on behalf of other races you cuck.
Begging for (you)s are we?
