For example if virtual immortality was created, would you want to "upload" you consciousness to a computer or would you want the computer to simulate your consciousness within it? After you body died which of those options would you consider able keep your real "you" alive?

The asnwer to those questions is the exact same reason that makes a simulation of human consciousness not a real human consciousness.
