Wouldn't that basically be Bright or whatever it was, that Will Smith one?
No. Cyber elves would look ridiculous on screen. Unless its really campy you can’t replicate the atmosphere and aesthetics of the lore. Similar to making live action adaptation of Berserk
that just had ni,,orcs, no magic dragons or cyberpunk
Possibly as an animation but it would have to be campy to avoid the sheer ridiculousness factor.
The concept of giant ancient dragons taking over megacorporations and exploiting the ignorant masses would sell really well though.
Probably the best way to success is to strip what works and dump the rest
>Cyber elves would look ridiculous on screen
no, they cute
there are no magic wands, everyone's a cyborg, powerful corporations have private techno armies, a dragon is president and american indians have annexed the west coast. i think
I wish

The U.S. has balkanized
You forgot the part where Dragons can take human forms to be passable CEOs for their emplyees.
I'd do a low key tv series about a group of Shadowrunners that start a shitty little run for a mega corp only to end up at the shit end of an ongoing Corpwar. Like Saeder Krupp vs Aztechnology.
High tech german engineering vs crazy aztec blood magic.
Also one scene where the mage of the main cast steps on a big ley line an blows up a whole skyscraper.
The Dragon PResident got Kenndyd and left a weird will that caused everyone and their mother to fight over his legacy.
>best genre mixed with worst genre
i dont think so sweaty ;)
It always starts with a milk run
YO I HEARD YOU GOT A SHADOWRUN COOKIN
AINT HEARD NOTHIN ABOUT HOW HOT THE OVEN IS
IF THE DODGERS IN THE HAULS GOTTA BE BIG
>the mage of the main cast steps on a big ley line an blows up a whole skyscraper
wouldn't that be more likely to happen in Rifts?
I understood that reference
Would be a good show/movie if done properly
Johnny Mnemonic was almost a Shadowrun movie. Just no magic or non humans but a few characters could have been made orcs or elves easy, without changing anything about them just the way they look.
William Gibson would have a fit if he heard you say that.
Nah. A rift is a magical renmant that is basically a portal to the shadowrun warp. Ley lines are just energy lines that flow through the planet like rivers.
The bigger the ley line, the bigger the bang for the mage. In the PnP they can turn a mage in a one man army but with the drawback, depending on how dickish your GM is, that the spells can cause unwanted side effects since the mage doesn't know how big his spells will be.
In one game, our mage stepped on a big ley line and casted a fireball. The modifiers combined with lucky rolls blew up a whole level of a scycraper and we basically had to dig through debris to find the charred remains of our target.
It's been done
the snes music actually improves this
I loved the books as a kid. Going to re read them. Now I'll have daydreams about it again
