God I love this movie.

i watched this, lolled at its retardation, then deleted it...then redownloaded it so i can enjoy it for years to come. truly a wonderful trainwreck in ever way.

Watched part of this in a diner at two in the morning, and it was completely insane. I don't know why Jennifer Lopez is so insistent was so set on trying to break out into acting.

basically there was some misunderstanding with the nords who were going to finance part of the movie and the money never came through, so they couldn't film something between 10-and-30 of the script. rather than securing the money and add reshoots later, they decided to play it by ear and try to make something out of what they had. they failed. so martin scorsese (who was originally set to direct) send his old-time editor to try and fix the movie. again, it failed. they released the movie like that.

but desu if you watch the movie it might seem only as a decent enough thriller with maybe a couple plot holes. but when you watch it pay attention to the editing, how the movie is put together, how dialog is horribly dubbed to try to explain what's happening*. it's so badly put together it's hilarious

*a notable instance is val kilmer. they filmed in the movie while he was fighting throat cancer (and holy fuck does he look it, it makes you sad to see him) but whoever dubbed his lines wasn't even trying to do a decent job. and a lot of the times they use takes where val wasn't facing the camera to add dialog
