>He wondered if Rhaegar had frequented brothels; somehow he thought not.

>The knight gave her a curious look. “You are your brother’s sister, in truth.”
>“Viserys?” She did not understand.
>“No,” he answered. “Rhaegar.”

>“Prince Rhaegar led free men into battle, not slaves. Whitebeard said he dubbed his squires himself, and made many other knights as well.”
>“There was no higher honor than to receive your knighthood from the Prince of Dragonstone.”

>“One day. One day you must tell me all. The good and the bad. There is some good to be said of my father, surely?”
>“There is, Your Grace. Of him, and those who came before him. Your grandfather Jaehaerys and his brother, their father Aegon, your mother... and Rhaegar. Him most of all.”

And then one of them dashed Aegon against a wall, raped Elia then cut her in half. How did Rhaegar not see the monster in Gregor?

>gets his actual wife and kids killed by cheating on them with some norf slut
yeah I'm thinking he deserved his chest caved in

What if there is some really, really, really, really, really, giant Other that is slightly bigger than The Wall and is what brings it down in the books after Mel fucks up and accidentally breaks the wards protecting the wall? George hinted we're at least getting some Mel chapters in Winds and will probably learn more about Asshai through them.

Hopefully she finally got over him

Isn't melly the only POV at the wall right now with Jon stabbed

I mean we're probably getting Jon POVs while warged into Ghost but he can't see much that way

Finally released his video about last episode
Extra sarcasm during all of the video, actually leans towards 3ER's Master Plan

That doesn't seem likely at all

Mel will probably sacrifice Ghost. I think there's a chance Theon's last quarter POV chapters might make it to the wall. Stannis will send him to do something if he dies and gives Theon an order to do it.

You don't know that.

Nah, it will be Shireen sacrificed to resurrect Jon

Rhaegar was fucking crazy too, it just manifested in a weird obsession with prophecy, enough to cause a civil war, fuck up succession etc

>Shireen sacrificed to resurrect Jon
This has been the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals, maybe ever

Don't worry user, book Jon is no faggot. He'll do something meaningful with his second chance at life.

actully show wise the worst trade we got was Jon getting Stannis northern storyline
the show even cut out the first battle for winterfell by having Stannis have it instead, "Bastardbowl" is a show only event.

if you think about it, from grrms perspective bran is the perfect candidate. gurm has a huge boner for democracy, environmentalism and peace. bran is a cripple who can't have a heir which means they HAVE to elect someone after him, which is good for establishing democracy. not only he is good at history but he is bonded somehow to weirwoord trees which means strong connection to the nature (save the planet! yo). he is perfect. also
-gurrm already wrote a book with pretty much same ending, the one about space apes
-bran's actor said in an interview that bran=king comes from grrm
-bran was the first pov in the first book
there's just too much evidence

Wasn't grrm inspired by real history?
Did he casually skip the part how elective monarchy doesn't work?

God knows how the fat fuck will ever be able to pull it off in a way that makes sense. I can't see it happening.

I'll guard the king even if he's a scumbag

Ah, makes sense
Thanks, user

That's why the books ain't comin' out, dog. Nigga played himself and now he done.

He will defend the shit fuck Joffery, even if he's a fucking terrible cock sucking faggot

>democracy

I mean Volantis already is a republic in the books and Tyrion doesn't think much of it.

Elective monarchies have usually turned back into hereditary monarchies, you'd think he'd know this since the HRE became super incest family Hapsburg central

>Jon does nothing but treat her like absolute shit the whole show even though she saved his life multiple times
>looks at her like she's a monster after she wins instead of just being like "good job"
>she begs him to rule with her
How is she so retarded?

>Not wanting the perfect couple to marry

Attached: 1559845944266.gif (500x275, 2.69M)

All he needs to do is not copy the show.

thx senpai

Imagine taking a dick that has been in Cercei

Attached: 1559737556454.jpg (635x635, 70K)

yeah, if he knew his shit it would have remained hereditary but either with a magna carta equivalent passed or a straight up constitutional monarchy set up.

Even George's own book and history says elective monarchy doesn't work. Ironborn had a kingsmoot every time the king died, it was usually the same families being elected and one of them was elected twice as often as the rest until one of them straight up killed the people there to vote, invaded and subjugated the rest, exterminated families that wouldn't bend the knee then made it hereditary

Jamie x Brienne BTFO's every other pairing so hard, it's not even funny.

Attached: 1559556113483.jpg (1280x1664, 353K)

Jon doesn't treat Dany like shit in season 7

Attached: handholding.gif (540x305, 2.97M)

It's quite creepy how good faceapp is

I think I would have completely forgotten that they're apparently supposed to be in love if he didn't keep reminding us that she was his kween

>people actually thinking Stannis won't lose
The only difference is Shireen's sacrifice will be to resurrect Jon after lame ass Stannis jobs instead of le 20 goodmen

What he needs to do is read history books to realize making Jon and Dany absolute monarchs makes more sense and is more subversive since they're not pure lily white Mary and Gary Sues like typical fantasy characters and aren't guaranteed to do well and not fuck up

>Anyway really like in character story telling desu
The Margaery one about Robert's Rebellion is hilarious, she is such a smug cunt that she legit believes that her father defeated Robert in battle, that they would have won if only Tywin had done his job and that they could have easily defeated Stannis at Storm's End but chose to have a long siege to avoid pissing off the Baratheons in case they won

youtube.com/watch?v=lC03mtu9S2k

Cat also says something in Book 2 about how instead of fighting a war they should have all the great lords of Westeros call a Council and elect a new king themselves

>Cat
>doing smart things

GODS I was strong then...

Fem Jaime actually looks like Cersei

What will Varys do with Aegon now giving Dany has her dragons and that wasn't an original factor into his plans. Will Varys use Aegon to try and wipe them out and vilify Daenerys or will he work towards restoration Targ dynasty? Starting another potential Dance with Dragons doesn't particularly sound "good for the realm"

Oh wow, topkek what a smug bitch
I found this one, not many Viserys narration in the lore
youtu.be/RvWInrVgdLM

Varys doesn't really give as much of a shit about "the good of the realm" in the books as he does in the show.
Him and Illyrio just want more power, at the end of the day.

Varus slipped and accidentally fell his head into a table edge

t. Martin

THANK THE GODS FOR BESSIE

You realize a Great Council takes months to assemble and involves hundreds of lords? And what obligation do any of them have anymore with no Targaryens with powerful armies/dragons/lineage to follow a new king and not just go back to being separate kingdoms or kingdoms splintering further with no strong central power like the Great House?

Based blackedfu

In the book they're trying to get Aegon and Dany to marry. The problem was that Dany was still stuck in Meereen and Tyrion convinces Aegon to attack Westeros without waiting for Dany to finally show up

I think at some point in Dance Daenerys will wind up losing all three of her dragons: Drogon will be killed by the Dothraki, something happens with Viserion and Tyrion and the other one goes to Euron and possibly becomes some kind of undead behemoth that breaths fire. She'll question whether or not people followed her purely because of her or for her dragons. I guess she's done that already at certain points but she'll really question it in Winds.

The Tumblr face actually kind of works for book!Brienne

Finding out where do whores go

B-Dawg tellin it like it is

Whores go under Casterly Rock

Marrying a whore.

I personally don't see Dany losing the dragon she rides anytime soon. In Winds of Winter or nit at all maybe. Would be cool if she does lose all three, loses all faith she can lead and rule but realizes she can finally step away from duty to fuck off somewhere to live a simple life where no one will chase her down to kill her

*A Dream of Spring
not woW

She shouldn't lose any dragon until we get a full POV of a character getting Field of Fire'd in Westeros kinda like Jaime in S7E4

House Suegaryian/Redditfyre is the worst part of the story. Cringe everytime anything about them is brought up.

I don't get something. George wanted to gradually age the characters up as the story went along then wanted a five year timeskip. Was dany gonna be a good ruler after those five years in Slaver's Bay or was she gonna be cuckoo or something already having unleashed Fire and Blood on Essos and marching West?

>implying Starks aren't the real Sues
Fuck off Dabid

Now that Gurm finally released the Targ history book he has always wanted to make, will he stop looking for excuses just so characters can spend an entire chapter dropping random Targ lore?

The only characters that really need timeskips are Arya and Sansa to make sense of their bullshit ebin assassin and LF 2.0. abilities that they end up getting.

I could see a time skip happening in between Winds and Dream. Seems like the best place for it.

I WANT SEASON 9 GOD DAMMIT

She's right you know

Don't you have to be a worthless fat fuck somewhere else, Mace?

Why does everyone think Tywin could have cut off Robert anyway? Like, was he going to teleport all his troops over there or something? Westerlands is a big fucking place

Any boy whore with a sword could beat three Frey squires

Who's idea of leading Westeros is the most shallow and pedantic?

/got/ is actually dead holy shit

You think this is dead. There was a time these threads took over 24 hours to reach bump limit. I could post before I went to sleep, wake up the same thread, come back from work to the same thread and go back to sleep with the same thread

I can't think of a show more than GOT lately that was so overhyped that it crashed and burned and was completely forgotten several days after it finished.

yes tbqh I don't see many depictions that I feel get it right
>Beauty, they called her . . . mocking. The hair beneath the visor was a squirrel's nest of dirty straw, and her face . . . Brienne's eyes were large and very blue, a young girl's eyes, trusting and guileless, but the rest . . . her features were broad and coarse, her teeth prominent and crooked, her mouth too wide, her lips so plump they seemed swollen. A thousand freckles speckled her cheeks and brow, and her nose had been broken more than once. Pity filled Catelyn's heart. Is there any creature on earth as unfortunate as an ugly woman?

same for most popular media
who gives a shit about marvel anymore?

Whats there left to talk about? Darkstar?

Attached: 1460412596863.png (394x333, 245K)

It's weird how everything hyped up is quickly forgotten. I guess it was designed that way but when most of these are the top ten highest grossing movies of all time it is starting to get a bit worrying.

What's Darkstar's endgame even going to be?

Crashing dorne with no survivors.

Freys are based and good fighters. Black Walder scaled The Crag with Jon Umber, Stevron as an old man still had the capacity to lead his men into battle, Bastard Walder is a reputable warrior, Hosteen Frey is called fierce and "the strongest Frey", Little Walder is a total hedge for his age, Olyvar is praised as a great squire, etc. Walder himself is supremely virile and in his youth, at four, was a rude cunt to Duncan the Tall but Duncan was living in such FEAR of Walder "the Great" that he just bore with it. Only Starkucks hate the Freys.

What would Darkstar be like as Aegon's Hand? We all know Joncon is dying in Winds and someone has to take over. I think Darkstar will wind up taking the spot.

>Darkstar joining The Reddit Prince
Cringe

only the rosby freys are based

Black Walder is the greatest Frey. Being subservient to St*rkshits isn't "based".

I hope darkstar kills the kingsgaurd hunting him. His endgame is probably fuck shit up and get revenge for dorne from Roberts rebellion

They should just add this scene at the end of the blu rays.

Attached: 4F9BCC42-D668-4392-BEAE-CF5E583CE14F.gif (500x281, 224K)

Probably cut his ear off. Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if he wants to take over dorne ala the memesnakes.

Dunno though maybe he'll join based Aurane the pirate king.

IIRC Darkstar doesn't like Nymeria and is part of the real native Dornish not a stinking Rhoynishman so I doubt he'd give a fuck.

Baiting and backstabbing the guys who dishonored you (but tried to make it up) instead of simply breaking the alliance and leaving them to fend for themselves is a great way to leave your house permanently reviled and distrusted and ultimately doom it in the medium-long term.

How is it possible this place died faster than /ecg/

It's not. It'll be forgotten in a generation or two. Like how the Starks enslaved the rest of the North, even wiping out entire houses like the Warg Kings and raping their daughters. They just have to whether the storm.

Emilia gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside

Post-finale GoT gives me headaches, mostly

Attached: 1542411609694.png (701x1050, 1.24M)

freys will be dead in a generation or two

yes mum

The gods have made their will known

Attached: 1560222452259.jpg (1016x786, 167K)

Edmure will pump 200 children into Roslin so no

The ending was complete trash.

so only the rosby freys will survive
like I said, based

I don't even think that's possible. There are Freys everywhere. Even if the "main" Frey branch gets fucked, there are Lannister Freys, there are Freys in the Vale, there's a Frey in Lys and some in Braavos. And plenty of houses have Walder's blood running through their veins. The Tully Heir to Riverrun should Edmure retake the castle, for example.

well yeah the house as a whole won't just extinct in one scene with arya sue but the main branch who orchestrated everything is fucked
red wedding 2.0 will probably be early in winds

It already happened with the "Frey Pies".

>died faster than /ecg/
except /ecg/ is illegal

d&d obviously merged the two events it's very obvious at the end of feast/dance that the BWB are planning to red wedding the freys at riverrun

Yeah. That kills the branch of the Freys that didn't act dishonorably. The ones that were with the Lannisters from the beginning. The ones who've already lost two sons (Tion and Cleos). That'd be retarded, but Starkfags are petty so I woudn't be shocked if it was put in as "fanservice".

>prophecy autism
>genuine emotion
Lol nice deflection Rhaegar. Bobby's hatred for t*rgs, his love and loss for Lyanna, his regret for being a poor father for his three children; those are genuine emotions we can all understand. Shattering the fragile system of relationships between the Seven Kingdoms because muh three headed dragon is not.

Attached: IMG_0783.jpg (500x547, 97K)

The Freys are 100% fucked in the next novels assuming they come out. Between Stannis, the NORF, and Brotherhood Without Banners they are going to get slaughtered. So does the Boltons.

god I hate normalshits so much

I think he just want peoples to forget he was King Joffrey, probably to avoid typecasting. Or maybe he just doesn't enjoy being in the spotlight.
The conversation between Tywin/Jaime & Robert/Cersei are still some of my favorites.

What's the origin of this pasta anyway

The original is about Shae looking at some ships

businessinsider.sg/game-of-thrones-ramin-djawadi-season-8-finale-interview-2019-6/

>Kim Renfro: The final song heard on the show, called “A Song of Ice and Fire,” is obviously such an important endcap to the series. What were the emotions that you wanted baked into that particular track? Ramin Djawadi: The thought was to really create a bookend to the whole show. We have our main title song that really represents everybody and the entire series, and we thought there’s no better way to end the show than with our main title theme. But this time it was with a full choir. We have men and women and children actually singing it.

>Djawadi: I find almost everything challenging [laughing]. I guess maybe “The Night King.” I definitely knew that I wanted to really try to wrap up [on the show] things nicely with all the themes that we know and have come to love, so there were opportunities for that, but there were opportunities for new things.
>Obviously “The Night King” theme was our big new theme this season, and writing that piece was challenging in many ways. One is because we decided to for the second time in “Game of Thrones” history to really focus on the piano again. We felt this was an opportunity to have a big piano piece, and we wanted to call back to “Light of the Seven.”

Attached: Ramin.jpg (1200x900, 833K)

Shae da funny whore

>Renfro: I know for past seasons there were times when Benioff and Weiss would give you some advance notice of an arc that was coming, because you needed to start planting those musical themes a little bit sooner. Did you have any advance notice that Dany was going to die, or that she was going to have this kind of turn at the end? The theme you used for her and Jon, called “Truth” on the season seven score, comes back into play right as she’s dying. Did you know when you wrote it that it was going to be a part of her death?

>Djawadi: They showed me this season very early, earlier than any other season. But they weren’t that specific about Dany dying back in season seven. We’ve had such a good working relationship; they always give me exactly the information I need to know at the time.

>When I wrote [Jon and Dany’s] theme, they said, “OK, this needs to be a really romantic theme, but make sure that it’s a love theme that can imply complications.” That’s how they started me out. They said things turn differently and things go wrong […] they talked a little bit in riddles.

>To be honest, I never even thought about who was going to die, but I just took it as, “I need to write a love theme that has some drama to it, that can show complications.” That’s really the word they used, that things will go wrong and [it’s] “complicated.” That word gave me enough information.

Attached: MadDany.jpg (780x439, 34K)

There’s also the whole Bran and Tyrion relationship early in AGoT that makes it seem like GRRM may have been setting Tyrion up to be Bran’s Hand from the start.

God I can't wait 20 years for GRRM to give us the real Jonerys

>“Game of Thrones” has just one shot at a writing Emmy for its eight-episode final season: the incredibly divisive series finale, “The Iron Throne.”
>The first round of voting for the 2019 Emmy Awards began Monday with a ballot that revealed the HBO series has only submitted that installment, penned by “Game of Thrones” showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, in the Outstanding Writing category, opting not to lobby for a statuette for more critically acclaimed Season 8 episodes, like “Winterfell” and “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.”

I would be astonished if they get a single Emmy. The lead and supporting categories are both stacked with actors from better shows. Kit and Emilia especially have no chance.

They knew to sabotage them even then. Jon and Dany as a couple literally lasted only one episode, by 2 Jon is avoiding her and by 3 he's neglecting and rejecting her. Holy shit these guys are bad writers

Are D&D just shitposting at this point or do they actually consider the last episode their crowning achievement?

>As talks between HBO and confab organizers are in the final stages, exactly which past and present members of the sprawling ensemble that includes Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, John Bradley, Gwendoline Christie, Liam Cunningham, Maisie Williams and Isaac Hempstead Wright will be taking the stage in front of the thousands in the largest room in the San Diego Convention Center is TBD, I hear.

>Back here in the U.S., the SDCC presence of executive producers and showrunners David Benioff and D.B Weiss does not seem likely, but George R.R. Martin, on whose books GoT was based, is anticipated to appear in one form or another. Maybe the infamous coffee cup that sneaked in front of Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen in the “The Last of the Starks” episode will be there too.

>HBO did not respond to request for comment on SDCC from Deadline. If all goes to plan, 2019 will be mark first time Thrones has been back at Comic-Con since 2017. Deep in production on its eighth and final season, the now-completed HBO blockbuster skipped the San Diego shindig last year for the first time in many a Hall H.

Where's Stephen Dillane? Lena and Maisie really shouldn't be there.

5 out of 7 episodes in the previous season were about Jon and Dany meeting and falling in love, and the relationship is ruined after one episode with zero explanation on Jon's part. All we got was Varys dumping exposition about how Northerners don't do incest (complete lie) and that Dany doesn't want to share power (another complete lie).

If the relationship was so important, why spend so much time on meaningless bullshit (e.g., Arya in King's Landing, that fucking horse, Tyrion walking around, etc.,) instead? D&D made Jon a glorified extra because they knew that he had no real reason to behave the way he did this season.

Stephen Dillane isn't in season 8

>Ain't no niggas like me. Only me.

Dillane doesn't want to make an appearance on this sort of event I guess. Not to mention he doesn't really like the show based on the interview.

They are so afraid of stuffs leaking to reddit I guess. Honestly I don't mind spoilers so long as the actual film/show is good. I can still enjoy it. I already know Ned dies at the end of S1, I already know about the Red Wedding, Joff's death and Tywin getting shot by Tyrion. Just focus on writing decent stories.

Well
Hi there people
You know me

I used to run a little joint called Westeros.
I was number one
The people's choice
And everybody listened to my mighty voice.
My name is Dany
I'm on the mic.
I'm gonna hip you to the story of the restored Targ dynasty.
It all began down in Meereen town and pretty soon
The word started gettin' around.
So I said to Jorah Mormont
I said
Hey Cucky, why don't we throw a little Dragon party?
We had an election
Well
Kinda sorta
And before you knew it hello
New order.
To all those mothers in my father's lands I said
Aegon, Baby, I got me a plan
.
'YVhatcha got Dany? Whatcha gonna do?"
I said "how about this one
Aegon's Conquest Two?"

To be or not to be
Oh baby
Can't you see

We're gonna take it to the top. You're making history
And it feels so good to me
Ooh darlin'
Please don't ever stop.
Don't be stupid; be a smarty
Come on and join the Targ party - party.
Like humpty dumpty offa that wall
All the Essos countries they began to fall
Meereen
Braavos
Volantis
Pentos-
The troops were rockin' and the dragons were rollin'

We were swingin' along with a song in our hearts.
And the "Targaryen theme" was making the charts

We had a new step called a goosestep we were dancing to.
Well
It's sorta kinda like an Andal boogaloo

I was gettin' what I wanted
But it wasn't enough.
So I called the boys
I said boys
Get though

Now I surrounded myself with some unusual cats.
There was skinny little Jon Snow and Varys mister fats

And let's not forget ole Grey Worm and Selmy.
You'd better believe we made a hell of a mess

Say Heil - Heil - siegety Heil
We gonna whip it on the people Valyrian style
To be or not to be
Oh baby
Can't you see

I found it over on /tg/ but it was FaceApp from what I heard.

It wasn't until Joffrey that someone was forcefully removed from the King's Guard. I don't think Robert would do it.
Joffrey just did it because he's a little shit and Cersei doesn't really think.

>he doesn't remember the faceapp craze and the glorious few days of the race-changing features before it got removed

>about your ending surprising people
They just want the shocks and memes. Based on what we got, this show needs at least 10 seasons to properly end and adapt the remaining materials.
>Season 5 (AFFC & ADWD)
>Season 6 (AFFC + ADWD + Original stuffs)
>Season 7 & 8 (TWOW/original stuffs)
>Season 9 & 10 (ADOS/George's ending+ original stuffs)
George writings maybe slow, but at the end of the day D&D is the one who made the decision to end it in 8 seasons (or 7 technically).

>few days
It was a few hours

God I hope Jon and Dany meet in WoW because I have no idea how he can write their whole romance in one book

Wow, really? I never actually had the app myself but I remember the threads everywhere. A few hours seems like the developers were almost predicting outrage, I genuinely don't see how there could've been any significant enough reaction in that time-frame.

Why couldn't we have had seasons with more episodes? A show this sprawling it seems appropriate, and you don't have to tie up the cast for too many years. Some telenovelas have like 100 episode seasons

I think it's more a budget reason in that case. Each seasons got a $100 million budget IIRC. Maybe it's only enough for 10 episodes? Also, the schedule & timing required for filming might also add the issues.

main reasons I think were all to do with the actors, them aging, them wanting to move onto different roles, them demanding more and more exorbitant amounts of money per episode, etc.

Dany has to wrap up all the bullshit in Essos, go to Westeros, take care of fAegon, meet Jon, fall in love, fight the Others and win, blow up King's Landing and then get stabbed by Jon and die. Jon has to come back to life first and foremost. Maybe Stannis takes care of the Boltons and Freys, but that would leave Stannis as a problem for Dany, too.

GRRM knew his ending was shit, which is why he is taking too long to finish the books. The fanbase fucking hate almost all aspects of this King Bran bullshit, and GRRM knows it.

Yeah, aging is definitely a big problem. The books have supposedly only cover 3 years at best, whereas the show already cover 7 years.

Attached: Timespan.png (705x317, 23K)

HBO gave D&D as many episodes as they needed. Money and time was not the issue. The showrunners wanted to wrap everything up in 70 episodes, but were convinced to split seasons 7 and 8 into two short seasons. They were done with the show and didn't want anybody else taking over the reins.

Actually having more episodes would be better for that, since you cover a lot more ground in less years, this fixes the aging problem. And they could get around the money per episode just by not trying to have every characer in every episode

>The books have supposedly only cover 3 years at best
And they got shorter with each one. Like AGoT was more than twice the time span of AFfC/ADwD combined

Playing as Satannis, should I marry Margaery, Melisandre, or both?

Attached: rhllor hungers.jpg (1913x1069, 688K)

>that would leave Stannis as a problem for Dany, too.
The House of Undying visions on the book have Dany sees a blue-eyed king who casts no shadow with red swords in his hand. So yeah, I think Dany will meet Stannis and most likely he will be another enemy she needs to take down first.

Attached: WhiteWalkerStannis.jpg (560x1200, 188K)

>get bored with the show and rush to the end so you can go make Star Wars
>fuck everything up so badly that many people will likely refuse to see your new spaceshit movies out of spite

They didn't think this through very well

>HBO gave D&D as many episodes as they needed. Money and time was not the issue.
Its definitely still an issue. They still have limits to what they can do/how much they can do. It's still a mistake to make it only 70 episodes. If they really got tired, they should have done what you said and give it to someone else.

Attached: TommenAngry.png (1078x564, 462K)

This shit always baffled me where they said some shit like this
>We always thought it needed to be about 73, and thats where we ended it

Why? Why the fuck would they need to have that arbitrary number for a series with so many characters and settings

>people will likely refuse to see your new spaceshit movies out of spite
Most likely they are just writing it. Normies don't usually notice that stuffs unless Disney/Benioff/Weiss make a big deal out of it.

Originally they only want to have 7 seasons/70 episodes. Supposedly to tie with the whole 7 theme, 7 kingdoms, 7 Gods.

Star Wars fans are already immensely butthurt since TLJ and TLJ being shit is partially the reason Solo flopped

7 books, too, even though they stretched book 3 into two seasons.

>the reason Solo flopped
I think bad marketing also add to that. I don't even know the movie comes out until a couple of days after the premiere. Peoples also have already been against it since Han isn't played by Ford or anyone that at least look like him.

Yeah, that's actually a right decision. Imagine putting every single part of book 3 into just ten episodes. You will end up with Red Wedding in episode 5, Joffrey's death the very next episode and somehow you still need to introduce Oberyn plus do the battle of the wall. Not to mention Tywin's death, Arya & the Hound storyline, etc. It's impossible.

>Fuck pacing or adapting the last 2 books, rush the shit out cause 7 theme
Fuck you to those people

Solo was a cascade of failures, really. Disney really shit the bed at every opportunity.

At least Emilia was cute in it.

GODS WE WERE STRONG THEN

Attached: p.jpg (1784x247, 76K)

Good thing the Star Wars fatigue is already setting in, because I don't trust D&D with writing any original stories.

I mean, maybe he can do it if the pace is the same as the first three books?

I mean christ how long can the essos shit go on for. The battle for Meereen seems to happen early on, and If Dany spends more than three chapters in the dosh Khaleen I'll kill myself. She could head to Westeros mid book, maybe meet Jon Snow near the end.

I have no idea where Jon's plot will go since Stannis seems to be doing everything he did in season 6

I know it's a fantasy but all the targ shit is so over the top and unbelievable

Do people who mock this not realize hes talking about the fact that bran has ALL THEIR STORIES , genuinely curious because its the number one complaint ive seen.

Is there any hope for ret conning season 8?

No afterlife in George's nihilist hellworld

retcon 5-7 while you're at it please

>Dany
>Hell
He doesn't know...

Just because you can't remember it when you're resurrected doesn't prove there isn't
There probably is, the gods are real so theres probably an after life in GOT

Yeah you could say that but literally fucking nobody knows about Bran or his abilities.

I think it could work better if Bran shows some sort of sagely wisdom from previous kings and be more proactive during the battle of winterfell. For the most part he just look disconnected from everyone and has zero reason to be there aside from being a bait for the Night King. The King Bran arc itself should have started all the way back in S7.

but what is his tax policy?

The gods that are real are the fire god and the old gods, both are weird and like human sacrifice, why would there be an afterlife

On r/gameofthrones based redditors like season 8

>whore
>getting married to rich and powerful leader

hm

The only god that is real is the Lord of Light and according to Mellysanders he doesn't offer afterlife at all.
The old gods are dubious at best in the show and most likely just the three eyed raven messing up through the era.

Good thing we aren't there or are we....?

If Jaime doesnt care about innocents why did he save Brienne from a fucking bear?
Is there any possible answer aside from season 8 is bullshit? He just said he doesnt care about the innocent because he was in a bad mood?

Bran or Renly

I like how you jump to saving her from the bear and not sacrificing his honor to save Kings Landing. It's just DnD fuckery

I've seen that excused as he was saving his father which gave him and his sister power
But yes I remember the lines in the bathtub

>because he was in a bad mood?
Only sensible explanation. But it's just bad writing at the end of the day. Same reason why he kinda forgot to cover his golden hand even though it's literally the first thing he did before going to the North. Everyone just kinda forgot all the things happened to them and just vaguely reference stuffs from season 1.

Season 3

A Feast for Crows.
Season 1.

I thought he is going to rendezvous with the rest of the Westerland troops by the end of season 7 finale. The mad man literally ride all the way to the NORF alone lmao. And against all odds, after fighting an army of ice monsters and undeads, he chooses to abandon everyone and go back to Cersei again.

Seriously, how long has Jaime been commanding the main Lannister army for? It's some basic fucking history like Julius Caesar the grunts are going to follow their commander not some random cunt politicians who they've never met.
Guess it would've made the Helm's Deep comparisons that much more obvious with the unexpected reinforcements before the battle thing.

SO MUCH DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE AND IS BAD

>Guess it would've made the Helm's Deep comparisons that much more obvious
Who cares? It was kino and if you are going to rip off something just take it from the best. If we are taking the logic further, Jaime would've left Cersei from S6 finale or even kill her and lead the Westerland as an independent realm from the crown.

I would have directed it that when Sandor is about to kill Gregor he chooses saving Arya where has to step through fire to get to her
but then Gregor gets Sandor when his back is turned
So Arya kills the mountain
and then she runs up to the dying Sandor
''I can still save you''
''you already have'' he smiles knowing that he overcame his fear of fire and found something more important to die for than vengeance
he died a hero
and then Arya is forced to put Sandor out of his misery

>imagine Ygrot and Joan Snow

Yeah sure. Although thinking about my previous comment a bit more I'll play devil's advocate for myself and say that actually it sort of makes sense that Lannister troops wouldn't want to go die in some icy shithole for apparent gain.

for no apparent gain*

>Seriously, how long has Jaime been commanding the main Lannister army for?
To add from this Jaime at very least has lead the Lannister army since season 1. Even if we consider the years he has been absent, he still commanded the army since season 6 which make it three years of Lannister genocidal campaign in the field and somehow they still choose Cersei because she blows up the sept.

Cope. Dany is dead.

>no apparent gain
How about being spared of dragon fire from Daenerys and instead gain her favor? What about cutting ties from Queen Cersei the rabid lioness and improving their image for the rest of the realm?
Seriously with how they keep saying 'the Lannister army never venture this far up NORF' since season 5 (mostly by Roose, Jon, etc), I thought they finally will do it in the finale but to help fighting the army of the dead or holding the Golden Company from fucking up the North. Imagine that, the big bad villainous soldiers we have been facing for the past seven seasons decide to help the heroes saving the day. I know it's cheesy as fuck, but why the fuck not?

Based.

Season 2
I've only read AFFC so far

Why are you starting from the fourth book? Even the first book which is pretty loyally adapted to the show has some differences and book 2 & 3 have even bigger ones.

Walder Frey or Balon Greyjoy

Re-asserting Walder Frey - the dude is carrying a red card with wedding rings on it.

Started reading it because AFFC and ADWD were the only ones available at the library at the time. Didn't feel like waiting or paying when I have the general idea from the show already.

Fair enough I guess. You should try book 3 at least if you got time though.
