Kind of a stupid question, but why didn't they make floor under reactor from tungsten? If the melted core reaches temperatures only on the order of 2500 degrees Celsius, it would't melt through it, because tungsten's melting point is 3422 degrees. Would it be too expensive? Or would the tungsten react negatively with uranium and whatever else there is?
