The newer games have an item that gives every Pokemon in your party experience. Alternatively you can just send the weak one out and then sub them out on your first turn and they get full exp.

yeah i know it's possible to level them all but if you split exp between 6, especially if you have late game slow leveling guys, you have to grind levels a lot to be able to take on the harder battles

Like even 4 is tedious

playing with 5 or 6 equal leveled guys is just so slow and boring.
I genuinely don't understand why everyone pretends it's viable.

I'm not sure how it works exactly, but I think the exp is given to each Pokemon, not split between them. Like if a battle gives you 500exp, then every Pokemon in your party gets 500exp, not like the 500exp is divided by 6.

But yeah unless you're going to play against other people you don't really need to have more than maybe 2 or 3 Pokemon at a high level. It's a game for kids and it's pretty easy to curbstomp every NPC with a small team.

It's not just that it's easy to curbstomp npcs with a small team

it's outright extremely tedious to face npcs at all with a larger one

Implying the hourly /got/ and sneed posters are any better

That mechanic does sound good though, because it always pissed me off how un-viable it was to roll with much variation.
