This happens in competitive hockey a lot as well. No one talks about it but everyone involved (players, coaches, trainers) all know about it but look the other way. A lot of times when you hear about a junior player being traded due to issues with teammates it's because he refused to be hazed and then the whole team turns on him or one player takes exceptional problem with the guys refusal. Steve downie did this when he played for the Pete's. He was like 19 years old and would regularly get in fights with a 16 year old who was much smaller because the small kid refused to be hazed. Downey beat him up regularly in the locker room so the Pete's traded him.

Not that guy but our school would suspend students who did that so the students just did it after hours/during spare. They wouldn't do anything that would physically hurt you but just make you do degrading things like crawl around in public squealing like a pig/push a penny or draw dicks on your face.
