Jumpscares are bad, they are cheap tricks that uncreative directors exploit to oblivion to sell garbage movies as "scary", it is not scary, it is exploitative of a physical reaction not an emotional response, its the same if a comedian claimed to be "funny" but then started tickling you for laughs, thats not comedy, thats a cheap trick.
