Have you seen Noroi? It is a very well made Japanese found footage film. You may have seen Rec too but if you haven't it is another good one.

In the Mouth of Madness? Intruder (1989)? The Prowler? Sometimes They Come Back? New Puppet Master? I Am Not A Serial Killer?

>Compiled from over 2,600 horror lists, here lies possibly the most definitive canonical horror list.
just watch everything here, then do the 1001-2000 list. There are more horror movies out there than you could watch in your lifetime.

Autopsy of Jane doe
Piercing

kairo?

A Dark Song
Pontypool

Watch Creep 1 & 2. They're both character driven and the second one gets really self aware, if you're into that sort of stuff

Death Line

>Watch Creep 1 & 2.

These are so great. I think a third one is in development.

>Fear is subjective, what are you afraid of and that's your answer.

This is one that took horror to another level for me.

Just don't watch them in year of release order. Many horrors on this list aren't that good or weren't released in good quality. I stopped doing this after reaching 1940s.

Many of these films aren't really horror movies. And I'm of course not talking about famous stuff like Frankenstein or Dracula (which are fun), but about crap like Student of Prague (both versions) or The Vampire Bat. There's a lot of mediocre flicks like Svengali or Murders in the Rue Morgue.

seen both, thats rad that theyre making a third. i enjoyed the first one more

you should watch them in rank order, the stuff at the top of the list is generally the most accessible, for obvious reasons
and the second version of SoP (there are 3) was very good, as were Vampire Bat and Svengali. Svengali is worth it for Marian Marsh alone. The Lugosi version of Murders is fine too.
Worth noting that this isn't some random nobody's personal ranking, this is a statistically aggregated collection of picks from literally thousands of sources. It's a historical survey, and a horror fan should explore every corner of it if they want to truly understand the genre.

is there a website like this for other genres ?

don't think so, the girl who put this list together is very autistic and strictly a horror fan

and you're boring and obvious

this actress doesn't only strike me as pretty but very expressive as well. It's like I could look at her stare for many seconds. I wonder what happened with Hollywood that we've stopped getting these kind of chicks in the last decade or so.

>Autopsy of Jane Doe
I was super into the first 45 minutes. It was a really intriguing premise and I really dug the detective work but then it gets all paranormal and I pretty much immediately lost interest. I would compare it to the 2nd half of Sunshine, they both turn into completely different movies for the worse.

it's the style/quality of the photography;
artificial elements of the way she's presented are effectively hidden, and the film stock itself creates a dreamy quality that makes her appearance and her performance more unreal and therefore more impactful than the bald clarity that digital recording does

That usually happens in horror, nothing wrong with sunshine too. Check out piercing. It's more of a thriller but shit it's the best one I've seen this year. It's funny as hell and got American Psycho aesthetics
