Probably trying to remove all the scenes with that Stranger Things brat

Audience can’t relate to big monsters, I’m there for the human drama not the monster WWE

King of the Monsters was done in by the editing, there's a much better movie in there.

Attached: we call him godzilla.jpg (960x444, 26K)

>needs more monster fighting

Well, it's all fucked now. Expensive reshoots and new cgi scenes. Expect a Dark Phoenix-tier disaster

No, King of the Monsters would have been good if the movie wasn't 98% humans. And even when the action starts ramping up it keeps cutting back to the boring humans every 10 seconds. They should also improve the CGI, shit looks like a videogame and the bad lighting/angles make it hard to see shit.

come back gareth

>CGI, shit looks like a videogame
Really? I thought the cgi on the monsters were really good, infact im pretty sure that's what they focused on more than anything. But i guess some of the cgi looks bad during that one rodan scene were everybodys flying up in the air

kek I was thinking the same thing.

>maybe we shouldn't have added constant quips and brown people

The CGI was fine, but yeah you were right, we didn't even get 60 seconds of uninterrupted fighting, what little fighting there was, was very entertaining, we almost had a good flick.

Sorry bout the name tag i was shitposting yesterday

Should've just let them fight.

They're pulling a mowgli now that this new Godzilla is confirmed the biggest bomb of the year

releasing the film on netflix?

Nah im pretty sure dark phoenix is gonna flop harder(i hope)

I wouldn't be so sure, King of Monsters had a better foreign opening weekend than Godzilla '14 but maybe because it opened in more foreign markets than Godzilla originally did. Eitherway, it'll make it's budget back. But Legendary really need to get their shit together.

I can't tell you never watched a Godzilla movie ever...

>$200 million gross

Attached: 6137074+_3fca518ba68b4acff1fd3e8891b83afc.jpg (333x485, 86K)

Which actor/actress got cast for GvK anyway?

>more human bullshit
No thanks

By all accounts it shouldn't be bombing. They did so much fucking right with this. Now they are going to pull some SJW double shit in the next move thinking it will save them from review bombs but then YouTube will review bomb it.

Andy Serkais and no-one else. It's going to be kino.

>98% humans
I can tell you never watched the movie.

>67% 2nd weekend drop
Get woke go broke

>get woke
Wat

>missing the whole point of why people liked Godzilla.

Attached: 8d6.jpg (645x729, 48K)

You're a moron.

Idk maybe he means that cringey nigchick general

Can't believe nobody in the thread has said the obvious, which is that Warner Bros is going to redo the movie to be in Marvel's style. And it's a bad move because it's a reverse engineering, like Justice League, it'll be so awkward.

The good guy side is literally full of either chinks or niggers.

Hollywood is all about marketing and shilling these days. WB is just too dumb to see the truth so they try to be reactionary and satisfy the critic-shills. Obviously they'll fail again because there is no point trying to satisfy the people that are paid to dismiss your company.

KOTM was already halfway into being a Marvel film with all the quips.

>critics complain theres too much monster fighting
>we need to fix this movie due to what critics said
uh oh

Nothing wrong with chinks/gooks in a Godzilla movie and the only irritating nigger character was that woman one

Meanwhile the movie is still packed in my area.

why would I see the new Godzilla when the last one sucked dick and the new one is starting a little girl? The producers don’t understand their audience.

Flopzilla is done. Weebs btfo

how is that relevant to what i said at all

Millie Bobby Brown is literally in the movie maybe 5 minutes total. She's a total non entity. The marketing for KOTM was an abortion that complete misrepresented the movie.

Godzilla is only loved by weeb faggots. Nobody actually gives two shits about that jap dinosaur.

Attached: 43534.jpg (320x240, 14K)

>implying they even care about critic's reception
The movie's underperforming compared to the 2014 movie, of course they're gonna "fix" stuff

yeah and they're going to assume what critics said is what's wrong with it when critics are retards like usual. they're going to fix the wring shit.

King of the Monsters had shitty battles that’s all

Face it

Well, this is going to be dead on arrival. Fuck everything, I thoroughly enjoyed KotM. Fuck every critic who thinks they know what a Godzilla movie should be about based on the Wikipedia synopsis of the 1954 film. I also like Adam Wingard’s films for the most part, it’s going to be hugely annoying if this film ends up getting Justice Leagued purely thanks to soi-addled Disneydrone bloggers.

Yeah, the first one from 1954.
The ones after are basically wrestling with giant monsters.

there's a few others with more depth gmk, shin

It didn't

>They should also improve the CGI
This fucking guy

Who watches this retarded shit? 2 "hours of cgi lizards retarded weeabos should kill themselves

I lost all hope for this movie when the scene with Rodan destroying the jets was getting constantly interrupted by the annoying human characters who I just wanted to see die.

Absolutely the only correct decision. Put it far away from Mulan that will dominate in the US and China, give more room to breath between the parts, reorganize and rethink the strategy.

It should be all chinks

should of*

Trips have spoken. The movie was good but the critics only like movies with 'messages' for the audience. I was glad to have seen a movie this year without all the sjw bullshit

Depends on how badly the warnermedia streaming service fails

they should. kotm looks like yellow and blue puke

this. i never thought kotm would make me appreciate certain things about 2014

The fights were just action figures slamming together writ large. Godzilla 2014 had less Godzilla but the fights were choreographed much better.

>My god!
>Zilla!

Only an idiot would deny that and think that by itself it indicates anything bad.

They clarified that it would only be a few weeks, likely in May rather than February

Sure, but still, Godzilla is mostly known for it's monster fights nowadays.
People who don't watch Godzilla probably only know about 54 and think the other ones are cheesy nerd shit, but at the same time love capeshit.

>212 million dollar gross
>200 million dollar production budget
>100 million dollar marketing budget
>300 million dollar total budget
>studios need to make 2.5 times the budget to break even
>Godzilla 2 needed to make at least 750 million dollars to just break even

So, what were the major flaws?
The boring human characters? The terrible marketing? Releasing the movie after multiple big blockbusters? The movie seemed just like the last Godzilla movie, but with more monsters.

godzilla is like capeshit but is way more fun

This is what happens when your movie is an insipid family-in-danger drama with some giant monsters fighting in the background

They can't make a 2 hour film with just monsters. Even though these are huge movies they still can't afford that many CGI shots.

Kong: Skull Island had good human characters and Kong was the best character himself, with well thought out fight scenes and scenes that let him flesh out his emotions

Godzilla needs more of that. It’s ok to make Godzilla the stoic force of nature but you can’t also have the humans telling us he’s the good guy. Pick a lane.

Kong was so small, people were having trouble seeing him

Attached: kingvsgod.png (800x473, 854K)

What happens?

>Yea Forums math

They should go back themes and cinematography used in Godzilla 2014, listening to weebs is bad for business I've seen people say that KOTM is good because of the Japanese movie references, absolute WOAT taste with these people.

I knew they would do this. The editing choices of the shot material wouldn't delay the movie. Seems like all intended special effects scenes will be there so it's only a matter of picking the best release date that's not too close to Mulan. Brainlet Yea Forums will complain about that.

youtu.be/cmZXJsklxSA

Kino

Actually he was grammatically correct, unless your him.

I hate what this board has become

>they should. kotm looks like yellow an-
*jabs you in the throat mid-sentence*
THIS. FUCKING. GUY

weak story and plot; inappropriate tone; lack of gravitas and atmosphere; obnoxious characters and cringe dialogue; wasted cast (farmiga and dance); inferior cinematography and vfx; bad lighting and colour choices; general tv/netflix sensibilities. just an inferior product all around

Mothra is still ugly

The Antarctic fight is so fucking bad you can't tell what's going on half the time

Attached: 1559918270186.jpg (621x960, 75K)

>"Let's hire a guy known for his horror-comedies to write and direct a Godzilla film, what could go wrong?"

That didn't help, for sure. Bradley Whitford being quirky is his thing. We didn't really need a sassy military chick and a soldier also dropping it constantly. She sucked at it, he was ok. But half the time you don't even get why they're doing some of the stupid shit they do in the movie other than the script said so. A massive flying fortress? SHIELD did it better. Crash landing to land a plane? Anyone did it better.

WHY THE FUCK IS THE ROADWAY PERFECTLY CLEAR FOR MOTHER FUCK THE EARTH TO DRIVE DOWN IN FUCKING DESTROYED BOSTON?!

This

Netflix Death Note guy isn't any better, and Garreth is a fuckhead who finds most Godzilla thing's cringy as fuck

Problem is they tried to do the mcu franchise shit but half-assed it, fucking none of the general audience knows that there's supposed to be an overarching story and Godzilla v Kong is around the corner. They think it's just yet another remake of a remake, without some massive blockbuster cast to carry it.

>A massive flying fortress? SHIELD did it better.
experimental aircraft are a godzilla trope, i guess it's a nod to thunderbirds, has nothing to do with SHIELD

Well he's a fanboy of the franchise itself, so people don't think anything could go wrong before

>6 gorillion dollars in marketing

which is why g14 was so good. edwards utilised the good aspects of the godzilla concept and ignored the bad

>Yea Forums suddenly likes Godzilla 2014
this truly is new bad old good unga bunga

Endgame caused all other movies to either flop or underperform, fact.

You sound lime a faggot.

>Godzilla 2014 where it all about the humans and army recruitment movie with little to no monsters and references to Toho Films=good
>Godzilla KOTM where humans were lesser focus and Monster get bigger focus with Toho references=bad

Attached: c77.jpg (644x800, 35K)

just a shit ton of fremdschamen on my end

Think we can all agree only Nips can make good Godzilla movies, and hollywood jews will never recapture them without trying to make it some whatever is popular with the Marvel fags of the half decade.

They never refer to Godzilla a good guy. If anything, they're allies of convenience.

Detective Pikachu's release is much closer to Endgame, yet it's still doing better than KOTM

>Kong vs Godzilla
>Executives: We'll have John C Reily and that comic relief from Godzilla quip each other, it'll be hilarious!
>*one flop later*
>"EDIT IT, EDIT IT OUT!"

>thing bad
>other thing bad
>other thing besides other thing bad

Tywin Lannister: hand of the three headed dragon king.

>gojira uses atomic breath
>it's super effective
why is this movie a thing? lol

The 2.5 rule includes home media and streaming not just theatrical revenue, otherwise you'd have movies needing to make over a billion to break even which isn't how it works.

>utilised

Attached: 1515888499_preview_1516944670692.jpg (387x437, 40K)

I was hoping for this response.

CGI was fine and it didn't have nearly as many human scenes as 2014 movie, but yeah they could use less jumpcuts during the fights and have them be in continuous shots, but overall it was great. Also soundtrack with chanting was hype as hell

OH NO NO NO NO NO HAHAHAHA

what word would you prefer? employed? exploited?

I wonder if they will ever clarify what the “major flaws” were. I hope it is the fucking god awful script with every quip falling flat on its face, but some how I doubt that.

It’s too fucking expensive you moron
Plus the humans are there to provide exposition like why Rodan switched sides so fast

I would prefer that you try not to sound smarter than you actually are.

yeah "utilised" is real college stuff. keep crying kotmcuck

Wants to defend the Earth. Sounds like a good guy he doesn't have to love humanity unconditionally it doesn't automatically make someone good. Meanwhile Kong actively eats trespassers.

Goddamn I dont want to see Adam Wingard get fucked by the studio, he makes good kinos

You’re Next and especially The Guest were both great. Netflix Death Note is surprisingly entertaining if you ignore the source material’s existence.

godzilla movies typically don't do well critically. dunno what legendary was expecting

Attached: 1559763212370.jpg (680x544, 115K)

The human plot was fucking retarded anyway. The characters are boring their struggles are boring. They hardly even seem to live in the same world as the monsters do. Not to mention how the global extinction thing is just glossed over. "Boston is evacuated, lead them there!" How the fuck is the entire city evacuated already? The monsters JUST got there? Why is the news still on if every city is getting fucked in the ass? Why is the guy who watches wolves fuck for a living giving Monarch and the military orders? He's suddenly an expert on these things despite not giving a shit about them an hour ago? the movie is a joke

>Think we can all agree only Nips can make good Godzilla movies
100% false, fuck off retard.

>Why is the guy who watches wolves fuck for a living giving Monarch and the military orders?
He used to work under Monarch

What personality did the left head have?

Curious doggo.

MHHHMMMMM DAMN RIGHT WHITE BOY YOU TELL THAT LIZARD MMMMHMMMMMM *SNAP SNAP* TELL THAT FROG TO HURRY UP I GOT KEEEEEDS TO FEED AT HOME

"Special"

I really hated the exposition. Each one of the nerd Characters takes turns finishing each other's sentences like fucking teen titans. And one of them always knew the answer no matter what and any uncertainty was definitively answered by the next nerd character.

>They hardly even seem to live in the same world as the monsters do
well said. a big part of this is because they're on a plane and a submarine for most of the film. whereas in g14 the characters are mainly on the ground, actually experiencing the monsters and their effects

Mowgli was great. Way better than that Disney remake

he was a little retarded.

She wasn't the bad part. The dad was obnoxious and you're lying if you haven't called the comic relief guy "Reddit". Hating popular things doesn't make you interesting.

the superscience is fine there just didn't need to be 5+ le quirky scientist duplicates in this movie, especially when they're not hot women

It wishes it had jokes as good as Marvels. King Gonorrhea? XDD

No I don’t mean the curious one, I meant the one on the opposite side

>Why is the guy who watches wolves fuck for a living giving Monarch and the military orders? He's suddenly an expert on these things despite not giving a shit about them an hour ago?
He isn't a commander, he's an advisor, who's been involved with Monarch for years previous. He was brought on the mission because of his familiarity with the Orca design and his expertise in bioacoustic analysis. He always "gave a shit", so to speak, but he left his profession in that department behind as a result of his unresolved grief tearing his personal and professional life apart. Goddamn user, this is some extremely basic shit you've failed to pick up on. Do you have a learning disability of some kind?

The bullshit family arc ruined the movie, it was awful

Ah the right one...dunno, regular underling? Heard something about being the aggressive one

It's the id.

Attached: 88zcvq63bh231.png (960x720, 904K)

he was the incel head. a beta to the middle and pissed all the time

I do know this, but it was still dumb and poorly used. I'd rather have the flying aircraft carrier than the oversized bomber. Not to mention typically we use it as a staging post and not defy logic even more with it doing aerial combat.

This. There were way to many fucking scenes of humans looking at maps, looking at radars, exposition, talking about where the monsters are going, talking about what to do, exposition, and more exposition. Not to mention, when the monsters actually do fight, every scene is spliced with one of the dumb fucking humans groaning and wincing.

if only

Attached: 1559806217789.jpg (1280x722, 100K)

He was a cute boy
I think he was the one who pulled the silk from the other heads when Mothra swooped in

>cgi looked a video game

The cgi was really good though? I can only think of a handful of movies were i thought the effects were better.

Is lefty gonna be extra retarded when they stick a new body on him?

NO BULLY!!!

It's Pokemon, the highest grossing franchise on the planet. of course it did better than Godzilla.

Well that is nice they want to try and make sure the film is perfect.
Although part of me feels like they will try and take the wrong lessons.

kek, most definitely cancelled

I thought the movie was pretty great. Seen it twice now.

The CGI was not good. A low res, blurry mess. What the fuck are you retards on about?

This. His Godzilla film was pure kino and the best in the entire franchise. Doubt he could save this mess though.

I think you might be blind.

Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even attempt to release it in theaters and instead just released it direct to streaming.

Anybody got a link to that hilarious review where the critic says they expected a Stranger Things tone just because the kid was in it? I can’t seem to find it on my own.

That's what it was like when I saw it also the audio was weird about an hour in to it

I hope WB goes bankrupt for putting out such a horrible piece of shit

You probably had a bad theatre

Yeah it isn’t like blockbusters haven’t had quips since the original Star Wars dumb-ass

Maybe he’ll be a good guy without the other two assholes dragging him down.

Go see it in 3D IMAX instead of whatever third world ghetto theatre you went to the first time.

>half the movie is Andy Serkis wandering around the jungle and musing about morality and the nature of conflict
Could be kino

>Warner Bros.
Monsterverse is dead. They will fuck it up like how they fucked up DCEU.

Attached: Warner_Bros._Pictures_logo.png (806x701, 473K)

I saw it in IMAX. The CG was grainy as fuck, which is a surefire sign they had to postprocess it out the ass to make it look passable, which is sad because almost all of it was dark and stormy too which is another by the book tactic to cover up bottom shelf effects. It was cheap and low quality, they absolutely cut corners. The CG in 2014 was far superior. Fucking retard.

I think you're talking out of your ass

>will
Newsflash dipshit they've always had monsterverse

Godzilla v Kong
Dawn of the Monsters

>Reading comprehension

Quick rundown?

They've finally realized that the movie needs to have Millie Bobby Brown punching a guy in a Godzilla costume for 90 minutes

Is it really that bad with the cutting from fights? I was really looking forward to this but cutting from fights is the absolute most shit idea that ruins any tension and buildup.

Not as bad as the previous movie, but still pretty annoying.

No. While it could have done better (which is always the case) it has the best fights yet and I'd dare say the kaiju fights are the best yet seen on the big screen to date.

by the time gvk comes out Yea Forums will be saying kotm is a masterpiece, nobody gave a single fuck about 2014 last year

In 2014 we at least had some proper moments in the end against the mutos.

There's cuts but it at least cuts to people actually close to the fighting and not something annoying like a kid watching the news or whatever

i agree that the shit was too grainy, and way too many particles and smoke on screen. The first scene with Larva Mothra was gorgeous then everything just went to shit after that. CGI was just plain terrible. The shots were also terrible, too many close ups on the humans, barely any wide shots besides the kino long shots with monsters hitting poses. Best shots were in the trailer, everything else was lackluster.

No. KotM is soulless schlock, 2014 is absolute kino.

Genuinely depends on the person, everyone I asked has a different opinion.

It's better than 2014's "cut away from the action and let's check up on Olsen in the train, miles away" but it still cuts regularly.
And still, when it cuts it's usually to the people directly under or above the fight, so at least they're in the same place as the monsters and in danger.

I say check it out but go expecting to be cuts. I think there's only 1 extended fight that lasts a while before cutting to humans. The rest is more about the monster arriving (hypest fucking shit) and doing one or two moves.

I still think KOTM is amazing for what it does desu

>by the time gvk comes out Yea Forums will be saying kotm is a masterpiece
If GvK is worse than trash, then sure.

Nah it was good, didn't really see anything wrong with it and soundtrack was hype as shit

Lying retard

Honestly, as a non-fan, I dunno why the faggotry between 2014 and KOTM is going on. They're basically the same film but one just has more monsters.

>shitty human plot
>not a lot of focus on monsters, when they attack it's more about how the humans are doing
>films are pretty as fuck, they're basically art
>90% of it is kinda boring
>last fight is so good and it makes me so fucking excited I forget about all the boring shit in-between and I leave the film giddy

There, KOTM just has more focus on monsters.

He was the go getter. The money maker, the bread taker.

>when it cuts it's usually to the people directly under or above the fight, so at least they're in the same place as the monsters and in danger.
Well that's a bit comforting. I'll probably love it as I'm a huge monster fanatic and even enjoyed 2014, mostly the ending though.

At least the soundtrack was good

Fans got butthurt that KOTM was trashed by the critics

Can someone please tell me what the point of these movies is if you're older than 14 and above 95 IQ?
>lots of weightless CGI
>generic CGI cities getting destroyed
>generic CGI military action on dumb big rawr monster that ends the same way every time
>big VFX shot of some sort of explosion that is basically a HoudiniFX advertisement
>teaspoon shallow story
>teaspoon shallow characters
>generic as fuck soundtrack
>no dramatic weight in anything since the movie can't establish good characters, plotlines, etc.
It's the big budget equivalent of a kid smashing toy cities with his Godzilla action figurine, how is this in any way entertaining? Same goes for capeshit, by the way.

inb4 "lol just turn ur brain off"

Attached: 1556527383279.jpg (229x250, 8K)

Weeb here, I'm fucking ecstatic, westies got BTFO, the movie is flopping both in terms of critics and revenue. Meanwhile, Shin was a success by every metric.

Attached: 1539280127598.jpg (437x471, 26K)

Nah

lol just turn ur brain off

>Can someone please tell me what the point of these movies is if you're older than 14 and above 95 IQ?
You either get it or you don't, famalam

>chinese try to make a movie
>every character is bizarre and wooden since it was written by a soulless ant who's never felt emotion

This so much

It's called escapism, a 2 hour escape from our depressing lives where we go to a fantastic world unlike our own.

Cutting the bad human parts and removing interruptions in monster fights hopefully.

Don't worry. Dark Phoenix is bombing way harder

It's simple. Some people like it. I grew up learning a lot about animals at an early age, had a lot of animals too so monsters were incredibly facinating. I couldn't care less about plot and drama, there's plenty of other sources for that. I just want to see huge impossible things made into reality.

It's Legendary, man. They keep fucking up. After the nolan films, everything they touch is an edited disaster of a movie. They keep trying to force changes to the film to make it "simpler and to the point" for audiences. Look at warcraft, look at the first godzilla. How much was in the trailers that never even made it to the final film?

If they stop the quipping as much the human segments would be more decent.

>check the cast for GvK
>all the scientist are returning for the movie
Fuck this shit

this but I also think they realized in editing that they had a bit of a mess.

Like an obscure youtube reviewer I follow described, it's a film with the worst pacing but at the same time there aren't many scenes that you could cut out of the film.
To make this film better they'd have to rework and reshoot some shit completely

The theme for each monster was amazing and actually fits in with the series instead of being generic bombastic orchestra

the reason why godzilla 2019 didn't make 8 billion dollars is that critics expect a disney logo to be slapped on every blockbuster

>Hiddleston peaced out.

I thought KOTM was pretty great, I have to disagree about pacing, and the monsters got plenty of attention. But if this means more focus on action for GvK, I'm fine with that. The G-man's been around for 65 years, he can wait one more.

"No!"

He was fine for the first one where you could play Godzilla as a mystery to be slowly revealed, but there's no point having such a restrained film after the cat's out of the bag.

Attached: 4543636.jpg (791x715, 130K)

His character would be in his 80s/90s

they should reimagine jet jaguar as a capeshit hero and have him quip his way around the movie
easy 1b$

It’s shit, aesthetic was bad, designs bad, acting bad, it was a poor copy of Michael Bay.

>Delayed

It's the new buzzword for CANCELLED. just ask Flash, Cyborg, and any other DC film that got delayed.

Ice Cube Jr. was fine

They should have taken a page from Shin Godzilla and had his atomic breath become a beam while he was powered up.
Ending the Ghidorah fight with multiple pulse attacks was boring and gay

Attached: 1557542261339.jpg (350x450, 44K)

They realized their mistake: no Minya.

it means they decided to listen to the idiot critics bitching about not enough human drama in a fucking monster movie.

This

They already made the fucking movie dipshit

It's intended for people who aren't choking to death on their own onions

The film has already finished filming, they're prolly talking about reshoots

Movie was already shot. Retard

>muh human stuff
who gives a shit, the kaiju are the main characters anyway

>Wanting a drawn out fight when godzilla is pissed and going nuclear and literally invincible
>The big G wanted golden boy dead as fast as possible
Need to kill fast but beams to slow. Plus if he missed then Ghidorah would have gotten the fuck out of there. Aoe was the way to go.

>people think this means more monsters
It'll be less monsters so they can dedicate to the humans, so they can apease critics

honestly the delay is probably to lower the budget since more time means you can do the same effects on a lower budget.

problem with the DCEU was they didn't delay more and ended up with 3 identically flawed movies

Some people just wanna see two big creature beat the shit out of each other, I know "turn your brain off" is a shit argument but there's legitimately nothing else to it.

Just make the beam go from 0 to 60 in a second like the end of Shin instead of like the first time.

It means that studios find Rotten Tomatoes scores incredibly important these days

Why would they need to appease critics?
Critics won't bring money, general audiences will.

Attached: 1378258778738.jpg (219x265, 10K)

Was there really that much human stuff in KOTM? It felt like it was mostly monsters and I enjoyed it. Final Wars and GMK had more human stuff.

*you're

>check twitter
>no sign of the tweet in sight
FALSEFLAGGING BULLSHIT
How are you people falling for this shit? We live in a time where no one on this ship board can ask for fucking source? Since when? Hide this shit thread.

The bad parts were the little inconsistencies anyone with a bit of thinking would pick apart. It caused eye rolls. Stupid shit like

>Cat 6 hurricane

They only go up to cat 5. You cant just add another number onto the scale within a day to make it make sense. It breaks immersion

>why are they listening to strategy advice from a random consultant brought on who has no expertise in that area

>why are soldiers putting their lives on the line to save one dudes daughter when everyones daughters and sons are dying

>why is monarch so fucking stupid? The obvious solution IS to kill them preemptively

In a logical world monarch would be executed for that stuff. This is the equivalent to playing with living nukes with no oversight and half the group in favor of releasing the nukes and being slaves to them

>why wasnt the father instantly sidelined once it was found his wife and daughter were involved? His decision making would obviously be biased and compromised.
>why should we care about this familys son dying?

Kill the chick from psycho in the first act giving Tywin Lannister the orca. Delete the daughter and father from the film. Make ken wantabe the main character

The monster fighting was great. This film was a 10/10 monster kino wrapped in a 2/10 human kino

Because they think the critical response is why the movie underperformed

>They only go up to cat 5. You cant just add another number onto the scale within a day to make it make sense. It breaks immersion
Plenty of fiction uses Cat 6 though

The hot woman scientist got crushed and eaten by ghidorah early on

legendary was bought out by the bugman before pissrim 2

Dumb dumb, Google exists and you can find the original Deadline interview

>tfw genuinely loved KotM and have to accept they're not going to make another one as good

Attached: 1384433763278.jpg (700x400, 63K)

So will Yea Forums finally accept that 2014 is the better film? The people who keep saying that KOTM is better is probably the same bunch that find MCU good.

Attached: 1b547ef.jpg (2880x1200, 297K)

why focus so much on humans when they are fucking worthless anyway. Literally does nothing in battles but provide better K/D ratio for gidorah. Also they could nuked every other titan with fucking superbomb.Use a railgun since its fucking effective too. a fucking trebuchet even. Fuck, I hate this shit.

Kong Skull Island was one of the worst movie's I've ever seen in my life. It's the only movie I've seen in theaters that I walked out angry.

This is absolutely fucking true before any more shills step in. No sense of weight and shitty looking cgi abounded

I don’t get the love for that movie at all. The director’s a hack who thinks he’s an ARTIST, colliding scenes ripped off from Vietnam movies with King Kong isn’t clever, and the cinematography and colour grading of the film were absolute garbage.

it's fun

>I’m there for the human drama
Jesus Christ.

Good remove the cringe comedy faggotry.
Hell I'd take the return of Kickass over that shit.
Godzilla isn't the MCU, stop trying to copy it.

Nigger back to plebbit, go watch a fucking drama instead.

Yeah, every military person was a nigger, what was with that?

>His Godzilla film was pure kino and the best in the entire franchise.
fuck off, Gareth

I wanted that too but sadly there were shit awful humans all over the place and the monsters looked like crap

Hey there's a chance they might be tweaking it the other way in another timeline ;_;

The only black I can remember was the commander of the air ship and that team leader (who looked more brown then back), the military was a random mix.

>Meanwhile, Shin was a success by every metric.
And yet it still won't get a sequel while Lizard vs Monkey is happening no matter how this movie does.

That's because Godzilla vs Kong is already done filming, they're just onto post production now so it'd be a complete waste to not finish it. If it doesn't do well enough for Toho to agree to continue this universe then a sequel to Shin will be made. Hell even if more are agreed to a sequel will probably be made.

He used the word correctly, dunno why you're getting your panties in a twist m8

I don't like Kaiju stuff and I really did enjoy the 2014 movie.

Granted I do like that Aaron actor (main character) and Liz a cute.
The night scenes were awesome.

Yes, and? How much of a capeshit brainlet are you to think that's a good thing? Shin as entirely self contained, milking it further would ruin it.

You aren't one of those retards who think the final shot needs to be explained, right?

Wrong.
>In May 2018, Toho announced that there will not be a direct sequel to Shin Godzilla, but instead they will attempt to follow a shared universe model similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I was saying Shin isn't getting a sequel, not that it needed or doesn't need one. Calm your gynecomastia.

Also, hilariously, Shin isn't getting a sequel so that Toho can go full capeshit on Godzilla.

Lizard Vs Monkey, yes. Shin 2, no. Marvel clone Godzilla? Yes.

This is the modern era of Godzilla.

This is the best case scenario if the monsterverse fails honestly.

Just do a new monsterverse helmed by Toho who will no doubt not give a single fuck if one of their movies underperforms

Even if the MonsterVerse succeeds the Toho movies will likely keep coming. The deal is that Toho can make a movie every year there isn't a MonsterVerse movie, which is how we got Shin and the shitty CG anime trilogy that only didn't flop because of Netflix.

I believe the Monsterverse licensing runs out in 2020 unless it's renewed anyway. So if GvK doesn't do well it'll probably just be allowed to expire quietly, and they'll save face by saying "We wanted to continue, but our licensing was only good until 2020."

Boston just needs a little time to recover from the last movie's assault.

I want these movies to continue, here's hoping Godzilla vs King Kong follows the trend of crossover sequels doing better then the movies leading up to them.
