We Were Soldiers is terrible, half the film focuses on dumb housewives being told their husbands are dead. I did laugh most heartily when the dumb sheboon started crying though.
It also completely omitted Rick Rescorla who was the most important character after the colonel. The book also heavily implies the officer who gets shot first chasing a gook is a retarded glory hunter who led his platoon into an ambush.
