Nah, that was more the 'We are the World' money. With Live Aid they actually stopped the famine in Ethiopia causing the natives to celebrate, breed like rabbits and triple the population in the space of only a few years leading to a way bigger famine several years later.

Ethiopia pop was 20mill and starving Now it’s 80mill and starving. So yeah... I think 20% of the money raised just went to warlords to move the aid through their turf.

Yeah. I'm old as fuck and I remember my older sister watching it. Everyone watched it and talked about it. I think the London side of it got a lot more attention, though.
