>be zoomer born in 2001 >only simpsons character I know is sneed from the meme >decide to watch one episode and see why boomers loved this show enough for it to have 20+ seasons >literally just a bunch of yellow niggers making references to pop culture and unfunny "jokes" that I actually had to google to see whether they were jokes or not
How the hell did people watch this shit for 20 years? How the hell are old faggots STILL watching this show in 2019?
troll thread, but the funniest episodes don't rely only on pop references.

I'm a 1997 zoomber who was born a few months before the show went to shit, and I grew up watching reruns of the old episodes in the early to mid 2000s, in addition to the new zombie simpsons episodes. It's amazing what a difference four years can make

This. I was born in '96, but my family would watch it together every Sunday night from 2002 to about 2012.

You have to not be an edgy dicklet to enjoy it

Hence why no zoomer can appreciate the basedsons

This is probably bait but you got dubs so I'll be honest with you. Simpsons was the greatest show on television for about a decade-ish. First season's aged badly but from season 2 to about season 7 or 8 is fucking gold and holds up as one of the funniest, smartest, tightest shows ever made. After season 8 till about season 11 the show started to go downhill but it was still pretty good and better than most things on tv. Then the zombie Simpsons years started, the show became more hit and miss as it went on and even when it hit it wasn't as good as it once was. The movie then came out and was... alright but a disappointment considering the classic episodes were still re-running at the time. Then the show kept going on and on and it's fucking terrible now. But really OP, check out the first 11 seasons because it really is one of the greatest shows of all time. But season 1 is not very good by today's standards and even some of season 2 feels a little clunky these days. And the show starts to decline after season 7 or 8 (can't remember which off the top of my head) but it's worth watching till about the end of season 11.
Have fun. I hope you enjoy it.

If I was born in 1990 am I a zoomer?

season one has some genuinely classic moments and the last GREAT season is 8, 9-10 are about as far as you should go
If you have actual memories of the pre 9/11 world your a millennial

Season 1 does have some good stuff but (and I hate to use this word) it is really dated feeling and can give someone the wrong first impression of the Simpsons. And I swear by season 11 because I think Behind the Laughter is an almost perfect final episode. Just pretend the show ended there and you have one of the best shows of all time with a fitting ending. Instead the final joke: Homer: "This will be the last season," is a bad omen for everything to come.

I agree, season 1 is something only to watch if you're already into it, as for season 11 it's a huge mixed bag for me but hey its better than what we got now
