It is literal feminist paranoia, but I also wish it was true.

I want Alexis to hatefuck me.

Makes me despise feminism even more.

I liked S1 (and the book, for that matter) but S2 sucked. I didn't make two episodes in.

why?

gf watches it obsessively.
I don't care for it, so I rub her butt while she watches it

Attached: 1553806356036.gif (400x300, 289K)

seems like it was tailor-made for people who like to fetishize their own """victimhood"""

I want to breed Elisabeth Moss.

Some feminists rape fantasy.

i liked the book but the TV show went overboard with the misandry and feminism.

Run

The only thing I don't get about this show is why the fuck do people think she's the best girl

If I got assigned the ugly chick from Mad Men as my sex slave, I would be PISSED.

Which Mad Men girl would you pick?
hardmore: no Joan

Isn't the book a bit more morally grey since the Sons of Jacob rise as a direct result of a global thermonuclear war that basically destabilizes American society?

Maybe don’t have unprotected sex with strangers. How the fuck did we even come to this as a society? Giving women the vote?

Its actually a good show if your brain hasnt been infested by /pol/ so much that you cant at the very least just gloss over the sjw shit. Good characters, setting, and plot twists. The building of tension is very well done. It’s also depressing as fuck. There is absolutely 0 comic relief. Not even a couple passing lines. Everything is either serious or depressing.

Methinks Yea Forums would like it if they gave it a shot.

>no Joan.
Bastard. Blonde wife or brunette wife then.

All the episodes around emily are fucking great, she needs to be the focus

>What does Yea Forums think of a handmaid tale?
Its the history of islam rewritten for the west

It really isn't and is super boring. The only people in my friend group that enjoyed it has been middle-aged women and super SJWs who I don't even think enjoyed it because whenever they talked about it they would just jerk off about politics.

Not him, but I think the show is really well done and most people start watching it with a huge bias.

Cuts both ways. People are biased both for and against it. A lot of the praise you see doesn't give a fuck about any of the deeper elements or the plot and are just jerking it to their persecution complex. You also have people who see this as SJW pandering and scream its terrible without a reason.

The bottom line is though its just boring. I can't imagine anyone enjoying it seriously aside from middle-aged women who get off a bit on the whole idea of being dominated housewives and SJWs who don't even care about the show itself. Its not bad by any measure but holy fuck is it boring if you don't have some sexual or political interest in it.

sounds boring, unironically

Idk Im pretty “alt right” and “anti sjw” and I was able to enjoy it very much. I dont think its boring at all. There is a ton of fucked up shit that happens.

Fucked up shit doesn't really interest me and if I want to see this subject matter I can just read about the Middle East. I never cared for any of the characters and the world itself was quite boring. Its just a dark soap opera with the same level of intrigue and the same audience. You would unironically probably like Days Of Our Lives or General Hospital if this held your interest and I really don't mean that as a slam.

easy, autistic JJ

Wait is that rory? Holy shit she hit the wall.

The book has more nuance to it and the show not only ignores it but it misunderstands it. Every show original worldibuilding attempt just makes it more illogical.

The show gives the impression that all fertile women are rounded up to be handmaiden's but the book explicitly states that there are other fertile women. Handmaids are criminals in Gilead society who chose to serve as a handmaid as opposed to dying in radioactive colony.

Offred literally says at one point she technically chose all of this.

Specifically Offred married a divorced man, but all divorces were rendered null when Gilead arose, so she became an adulterer

Her friend was a lesbian and another handmaid was gangraped(which violated the no extramarital sex law)

The whole point of the point of the handmaid system is that it's a biblical loophole so they can still utilize their reproductive potential without violating the laws of the bible.

The whole Gilead trading women to mexico plot line is so fucking stupid for that very reason.

I like these gifs where apu spanks cute girls

Why do fat, frumpy women keep cosplaying as this during protests?

Um it wasn't supposed to be a documentary sweeties

/pol/'s utopia the show

It's an edgy pop culture reference that also covers most of their body so they don't feel insecure

>Isn't the book a bit more morally grey since the Sons of Jacob rise as a direct result of a global thermonuclear war that basically destabilizes American society?
In the book, it's implied that the precursors of the Sons of Jacob were the ones who bombed congress and touched off the war in the first place.

this show makes my wife horny af, everytime i see her watching it i know im gonna fuck
its pretty based

It introduced the idea of raping Alexis bledel to me so that’s pretty cool. Margaret qualley replaces her as my waifu. I haven’t watched the show though

Iirc the entire point of handmaidens was the widespread infertility, though I haven’t read it since high school.

First season was okay. The rest is trash.

why does alexis looks so fucking old?

>/pol/'s utopia the show
>the niggers and the Jews still exist

I would say it's more feminist fantasy.

Why the hell did Don Draper even cheat? Sheesh.

It's not paranoia, it's their fap material.

it's really opened my eyes to how feminism has destroyed civilization. its also awakened my fetish for bondage and domination.

Attached: smoking.gif (501x310, 3.98M)

The first season was fantastic. The second season missed the point entirely now that the writers had free reign (given that the source material had dried up) and took a story who's main strength had originally been accurately simulating the feeling of uncertainty and imperfect knowledge endemic to living a totalitarian regime by consistently telling the story from a single perspective that did not have all the information (by design, both in-world, and by the author,) and instead focused on world-building, exposition, and fleshing out the backstories of side characters.
Not him, but I think I have your answer.

Don cheated because he's incapable of emotional commitment not because he thought his wife wasn't hot enough

>What does Yea Forums think of a handmaid tale?

Full of good ideas.

Why did they brutally raped offred?

It is surprisingly good but I lost interest with the new episode.

The sons of Jacob caused the war in a religious coup, then nuked a bunch of shit

Would you fuck Elisabeth? I can't tell if she's good looking or not.

Because she's almost 40.

typical cringy canadian hysterics

Really opened my eyes to the evils of an islamic society

>a religious coup
uhu

>look at this alternate reality were women are treated like 2nd class citizens; isn't this AWFUL?!

>sons of muhammad
FTFY

she’s gross

They staged a coup to give their own religious denomination power over the ruling religious denomination.

Faye or Trudy.

The 19th Amendment and it's consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

>paranoia
It's basically about the Iranian Revolution, only in the US (so with Christianity). A lot of the degrading shit they do in the show is what Iran has done and is doing to women IRL.

Just to say it definitely doesnt imply ALL are rounded up. Theres that black dude and his fertile wife when offred was in hiding, and also a black commander who mentions how his wife is pregnant. In fact what youre saying here is very much what happens. Lesbian friend, girl who was gang raped, offred is still an adulteress.

Agree on mexico tho

Shes not bad. Her nose is witchy from the side and a lot of the lighting is very unflattering but shes perfectly fuckable in many scenes

>Implying muslem sharia law is any different from christian sharia law in any meaningful way other than christian sharia law being a more immediate and credible threat.

wow I guess we HAVE to go to war with Iran now, someone call Bolton and tell him to try this angle

>other than christian sharia law being a more immediate and credible threat
Where?

Why base it on Christianity then?

The Amish are basically traditional Christians, and the women are all happy. The women were happy in the "dark ages" all the same.

In fact, the more traditionally Christian women are, the happier they are going by metrics based on happiness values over time.

Yeah man, those Amish women sure are unhappy.

>christian sharia law being a more immediate and credible threat
what fantasy world do you live in?

Attached: 1521513487432.jpg (700x734, 107K)

women literally soak themselves at the thought of men dominating them like this. The world of this show is a world where women are completely and totally at the center of attention. The entire onus for their societies existence is the administration of females.

any society that focuses on women this much would be a catastrophic failure

So what's this show about anyway? Fertile women being made to have kids? What kind of retarded premise is that?

With the food and tech we have available today, as you'd need was a slight cultural change in favour of reproduction, such as by e.g. removing women from the work life and making them housewives expected to bear as many kids as possible, and you'd have like 1000% population growth per generation without even trying. And the women wouldn't even mind it, if all the propaganda they got fed was just "have kids and be wife", which historically women haven't just embraced but celebrated their role to be. Shit like Teddy Roosevelt speaking to women's organizations about how their role is to give birth to healthy sons for him to send to war and then giving him standing ovations.

You don't have to force women to do this shit. They'd take PRIDE in doing this shit. The fertile women would be lording their number of kids over the other women and calling them pathetic and weak while the ones with fewer kids grovel at their feet and desperately desire to birth as many kids as possible to climb that social prestige ladder.

To be young and unconscious during 9/11.

it's the /pol/ christcuck fantasy, a small but vocal minority of religious extremists that live as walking contradictions every step they take

It's strange that people have that opinion.

At this height of civil rights and empowerment/pride, people are less happy (studies show this) and we're arguably no more free than before.

Dystopia porn for leftists.

That reality has never been there with Christianity.

It's more like a modern feminist's take and projection of what Christianity was and is.

You think you're smart but you're not.

Man oh man I have a thing for girls in those amish outfits. They need to be whipped daily and then tied down and fucked hard.

It's the only way to keep women in line anyhow. So Yea Forums why don't you beat your gf? It gets the cunt wet and keeps her behaving well. No reason not to. Daily spankings are pretty much mandatory to keep a woman from going crazy.

Based. Hit my wife as well when i warned her not to bring any of that halal shit at my home. Snapped when i saw a bottled water with that halal shit and she said she bought one while picking my son at soccer practice. You should see the fear in her eyes lol. Anyway after that I'm sure she'd double check every item before bringing it to my house

Why is hurting women such great kino bros? Life's simple pleasures I guess. It's even funnier since they actually love it.

Abortionist propaganda for the same people who relate IRL issues to Harry Potter

>Why base it on Christianity then?
The point of the book was to illustrate how easily an enlightened western democracy like the US could slip into a hardline theocratic regime. If you didn't know, Christianity is the most prevalent religion in the US.

>Christianity is the most prevalent religion in the US.
When you combine the various denominations and sects, it's actually Progressivism.

Shut up zoomer.

Yes, but in the real world it's Christianity.

I'm sorry, I realize Pride Month's a sensitive part of your liturgical calendar, but the truth sometimes hurts.

>show is complete fiction and doesn't claim to be real
>Yea Forums treats it as "paranoia"

Is it a well made show?

Well made enough for a softcore porno.

>another thread about handmaid tale
it smells a little bit fishy

Attached: apu.jpg (882x731, 113K)

Hey man oppressing women is based and hot as fuck.

As I understand Christian extremism was pretty big in the 80s when the book was written.

>The whole point of the point of the handmaid system is that it's a biblical loophole so they can still utilize their reproductive potential without violating the laws of the bible.

This kind of thinking is so fucking Jewish. Christians follow the spirit of the text, not the letter, a loop hole is a linguistic gap and not a gap in God's command and any Christian knows this, we either choose to obey or we not and pay the price for it but we don't go out buying shabbos ovens.

>Christianity is the most prevalent religion in the US.
The most prevalent religion in the US is consumerism, with vulgar sex and dumb entertainment oozing from all forms of media.

You know, scumbag.

I like to tie them up. Not to do weird stuff to them (sex, obviously, but not weird shit they wouldn't otherwise let me do). Just to know that they'll let me tie them up.

>than christian sharia law being a more immediate and credible threat

This is what libshits actually believe.

Attached: 1368734198351.gif (300x196, 1.65M)

This.

I can never decide whether I like the hands behind their back or over their head more.

Both are pretty kino.

it's a utopia larping as a dystopia.

My mom told me she wanted to watch it and I told her she wasn't allowed and I'd delete the netflix if I caught her watching it.

>gilmore girls is almost 20 years old
BRUH

Agreed. To me, it mostly depends on whether their tits or ass are nicer.

It's sad. She was really fucking pretty well into her 30s.
That scene in Sin City...jesus.

>tfw both are great and you cant decide which is better

Fuck this gay earth

There isn't much you can do with the concept.

The book story is meant to be a western version of Islamic oppression of women, with the show writers not quite understanding this or outright ignoring it. Haven't even bothered watching the show as a result.

It's a major redflag that most of the praise comes from people talking about it depicting women as second class citizens rather than anyting regarding the storylines.

>Living the dream
>pretends it's terrible
I hope you're humble-bragging bro. Because this is what we call a 'happy problem'.

>be happy
>still have problems

Damnation it never ends does it?

>Why base it on Christianity then?
Christianity (specifically Protestant Christianity) is the dominant religion in the US, if you're setting the story in the US and writing a book about religious extremism it's the natural choice.

No. There was a period of my life that seemed perfect. I had a damned fine job. my amateur writing was making good money. I had just discovered shrooms and was fucking a big-titted 4'10 blonde (I like 'em short). And I still had problems.
That time has ended. Nothing gilded ever lasts, as Frost said. But there is never an age with no problems. In time, all that's bitter fades away and that's left in your memory is sweet. But that's a false remembrance of it.
Enjoy the good, solve the problems you can and let fate decide what you can't.

You don’t have a gf

Got any tips about how to get started doing amateur writing?

The book was even more shit than the show. Putting Margaret Atwood in the same sentence as Orwell is a joke.

Just write. It's rough, especially at first. There aren't many periodicals, so you're mostly stuck posting stuff to Amazon until one of your stories catches fire. Don't expect it to happen on the first one, and don't try to write a novel until you've written a bunch of stories. Learn to make your own covers in that case.
But you have to be willing to write the same scene 3-4 times. Accept that the first time is just you getting it onto the page. It won't have the best framing, you'll replace a lot of those words with different, better ones in later drafts. But with a rough, just get it out. Don't worry if it sucks. A lot of good writers make terrible rough drafts. Your writing will improve the more you do it, so write as many stories as you can.

cringe as fuck

Joy

I forgot. The more you write, like anything else, the better you will get at it. There's the usual shit 'write drunk, edit sober' --which isn't literal (it can be). It just means that you should never be afraid to be experimental or weird with the initial draft. Go all-out on it and pull back as you edit.
Also, it's normal for the first couple of revisions to greatly inflate the word count of a story, only for later ones to reduce it somewhat.
After you've revised a story a few times, shelve it for a month, or at least a couple of weeks. You'll be surprised how much you'll accomplish with fresher eyes, when you've likely moved on to a different tale.
Don't be afraid of sex scenes or leaving your comfort zone (writing a PoV character of the opposite sex, for instance, or with different beliefs than your own).
Once you've got enough stories under your belt, try to shop a 'good' or at least marketable novel to agents who haven't 'made it' yet--they usually only have one or two big clients. Even iffy agents are more likely to get your book read than trying to send it directly to a publisher. But you'll need a good-selling story on Amazon, or an award-winning one, to get anyone's attention.

the big agents only have a few big clients, sorry. I am kind of drunk.

Thanks senpai, best of luck my friend.
