Still the best superhero film to date

Still the best superhero film to date.

It was the best Marvel movie is what you meant. And probably the only one before it went full SJW and comedy.

its the best MCU movie but not best capeshit

Which non-Marvel superhero films are better?

It was the blueprint for every subsequent Marvel movie, so it was even better retrospectively.

because soul
they managed to have a cool soundtrack too and they droped this in the sequel while they could just have reused the theme
In IM1 Tony Stark is kind of an edgy rock guy, listening to hard rock and shit
this aspect of his character was completely lost

It wasn't even a good representation of anything out of the Iron Man comics. How is it then even a good superhero film?

Yeah he became more of a comedian rather than just being a snarky tech guy.

Usually the only good superhero movies are origin stories because there is an actual character arc and character development

soul, heart, serious moments, charisma and grounded yet comic booky elements

Sorry bud, Marvel and Justice League superheroes are trash.

What did Sam Raimi mean by this?

It's the best MCU movie, but they still had the old lameass tradition of adding a villain origin story that's a reflection of the hero's.

They still do it somewhat, but it's less clumsy and integrated into the story better.
>Good guy gets powers by circumstance
>bad guy gets powers by reckless greed

I remember watching the trailer for Iron man so many damn times. Back in the days when youtube didn't have HD video and I had to search shit to play in quicktime of all things to see something of good quality.

Yea Forums go away. You cry about adaptations more than Yea Forums

Iron Man comics had like three good arcs.
He was D list until Downey came along and made him more popular than superman.

>muh DiaB
>D-List
Christ user.

iron man was good because it was a movie
the incredible hulk was also a movie

He and the other core members of the Avengers were always b-tier in the comics while X-men and SpiderMan were A-tier. Just look at the Ultimate Universe run, it starts with Xmen and Spiderman. Later on though The Ultimates came along which was the UU’s version of the Avengers and it was so good and popular it started to make The Avengers enter A-tier.

Even ignoring muh source material, Iron Man (2008) was bland and completely generic in every way. The producers fucked up when they tried to make it super gritty and realistic off the back of Batman Begins/TDK (which worked a lot better for Batman than it does for other comics) not realizing how fucking ridiculous it all is (Iron Man's rogues gallery includes guys like Fin Fang Foom, DreadKnight and Gargoyle). Raimi had the right idea and just embraced the comics for what they were.

the best superhero film is batman

Iron Man was before The Dark Knight, you dumbfuck.

It was before Marvel got pozzed by Disney.

The movies are not made for you comicbook manchild they are made for normies

The Dark Knight > Sam Raimi's Spiderman 1 = Sam Raimi's Spiderman 2 > Iron Man > Batman (1989) > Superman from the 70s > Superman II > Every other Marvel Cinematic Universe film

>haha FFF
>ignoring Spymaster, Titanium Man, Crimson Dyanom, all the business competitors and crazy scientists
Stark's got a more grounded rogues gallery fit for a technothriller than most characters.

Superman 78
Burton Batman
Raimi Spiderman
Nolan Batman
thats it...every other superhero movie ""its good for capeshit" or "awful even by capeshit standards"
