Is Hannibal Mads Mikkelsen's masterpiece?
I've never seen him play a character so well before. What do you think?

Based Mads is based no matter what character he's playing, even in Marvel shit. But I have to admit his interpretation of Hannibal Lecter is slightly above the rest

yes for now

I even liked him in the three musketeers.

The Hunt is a much better performance

have sex

I pray every night for this show to come back. The season 2 finale was one of the greatest episodes of television ever filmed.

But it is concluded, so how would it come back?

Hannibal Mumbler

Silence of the Lambs adaptation

>concluded
It just got cancelled, clearly they could have done silence of the lambs (barring the relevant legal issues). I think I remember reading that the original plan was to transition into silence if they could get the rights to Clarice, then do something more properly resembling Hannibal, before ending with an entirely original season to wrap up.

I'd like to eat his meat.

>No one has given up! I've made it clear I want to do it, the cast wants to do it and Martha wants to do it. We just need a network or a streaming service that wants to do it, too. I don't feel there's a clock on it or an expiration date for the idea. We just need someone to bite.

Thank you user, you have refreshed the little hope I had left.

I've seen quite a lot of his work and I'd say Hannibal and The Hunt are his best work.

Some really nice girl recommended me this series. I hope it's as good as Yea Forums implies, I dont want to see her as a pleb

most likely she's fan of the murder husbands

Rumour had it the original plan was after S2 was:
>Season 3 (wrapping up S2)
>S4 = Parts of Hannibal and Hannibal Risng
>S5 = Red Dragon
>S6 = Silence of the Lambs
>S7 = Hannibal (book)
>S8 = Wrapping up at the end of Hannibal
But after they shoved 3 seasons worth of content into S3 they wanted to have Uncle Robert and Murasaki (from Hannibal rising) show up and adapt the end of the book Hannibal with Will and Hannibal going off together while they wait for the rights for Silence
I think the plan is now just to go straight to Silence for an 8 part miniseries, all the cast and Fuller are on board and I can't wait to see wtf they do after it cause they will have adapted all the source material. Apparently the way they're gonna make it different from the film is to have it flashback to Hannibal treating Buffalo Bill and Ben Raspail while Clarice is investigating in the present

Hannibal is a pleb filter

Nice to know it's not dead. I'm surprised Netflix hasn't offered them a deal? Were Hannibal's ratings trash or something?

Can anyone explain to me Mads' popularity on Yea Forums? I'm not saying he's necessarily a bad actor, he just seems very limited in range. Plus, unlike, say, Keanu Reeves, he's not charismatic in interviews at all. Is it just because of his "based" statements in the past i.e disliking political correctness, being a global warming sceptic and thinking MeToo has gone a little too far?

You can easily consider season 2 as the ending. He kills everyone and goes away with his girl. It's perfect

He's bisexual so that's not it, it's just he has that smooth arctic coolness to him, like if he was your uncle growing up he would molest you but also give you your first beer. Not sure if that made sense

I hated the actors for the great dragon and reba in season 3 they had 0 chemistry i skipped all their parts

I'm watching season 3 and it's pretty bad. I have seen both red dragon and manhunter before and never understood the dollarhyde character and I still don't get it now. Harris is such a hack. So is Fuller in his own way but the show was better when it was focusing on making up its own homo stories instead of adapting the books.

keanu is bi or pan, mads is straight he never said he was bi

I can't really speak to the boards fascination, but regarding his range. A lot of his earlier Danish work shows many sides, it's more like he has settled into a specific vibe after hannibal. I would not be surprised if his calm and intimidating presence as Hannibal is exactly what people are choosing him for when trying to find an actor for their villains.

Manhunter is the best adaptation imo

>Harris is such a hack
Elaborate.

season 1 was good
season 2 was amazing
season 3 was hot garbage

He's also anti EU. Based Mads.
He has limited range but he has gravita that isn't found in modern actors anymore.

This character also didn't make any sense, fuller was on drugs

Attached: Hannibal-3.05-630x420.jpg (630x420, 54K)

Season 3:
Eps 1-4 trash
Eps 5-7 Great
Eps 8-12 Good/ok
Ep 13 GOAT

I read an interview where his wife was smug that she got mads despite his faggotness and he's kissed dudes

Mads is not bi. His family. Fuller wanted to use his son Carl for flashbacks

Attached: mads-and-family.jpg (620x387, 40K)

Only a hack could come up with a concept as corny as Hannibal the cannibal. None of his characters behave like real human beings. The pinnacle of his bullshit being the Verger characters. I'm still fascinated by his stuff but I also really don't understand how anyone could have written that trash without shame.

Define gravitas and how Mads has it. I don't get it

>goes to Lithuania of all places
>finds the only asian lady in the country living in the mansion
>she also has some rapist in the dungeon that she just so plans to kill at some point soon
mate what the fuck was he doin

He's literally snogged dudes retard

>anti EU
Link?

yeah and she's also like late twenties wtf

He's just european, sorry buddy, not into dudes .

nah its The Hunt

be grateful we didn't get anymore
im pretty sure they planned on putting jodie fosters character into the show as some black dyke

She didn't belong at all, she was straight out of a comic book instead of a pulp novel if that makes sense.

Also hilarious how lazily they shoe horned Alana into the Verger arc because they didn't know what to do with her anymore. Just awful.

Jack working Hannibal make season 3 worth it by itself. I struggle to think of a more cathartic moment in television for myself by that point in the series.

Mads pretty much plays one character: himself. I saw the exact same in Hannibal as I did back when I watched his Danish stuff, but that's also what's appealing. He's just a sort of mysterious, charismatic person.

it was such a beautiful show
the dudes are good looking (as far as i can tell) the women are good looking
the food is good looking
the shots are lovely
the locations are comfy and beautiful
even the dogs are cute, and the music is nice

its weird that a show with such subject material is so aesthetically pleasing. Outside of that there were some really good performances and season 3, whilst different was still enjoyable if you kind of took it as an abstract

also Katherine Isabelle in this show is 100% waifu material

Wait, what does the word play have to do with it? Isn't the concept a horrific monster presented an hidden in plain sight as a sophisticated and trustworthy psychologist?

youtube.com/watch?v=jqRHHwp_ivw

Absolutely fucking based

He's just good looking. Halo effect. Plus the usual nordic frigidity.

>never understood the dollarhyde character and I still don't get it now
What's to get? He's BTK with some wacky embellishments.

His characters are all violent/hateful weirdos, yeah. Harris writes entertaining junk for giant piles of money.

They should have honestly just ended it right there when they knew the show was on the verge of being cancelled. Season 3 was obviously very rushed and very sloppily made.

I'm annoyed by the oversized tie knots Hannibal tend to use. No taste....

Chilton one my favorites.

I read somewhere that it was a Power Move.

Terribly rude, user.

Mad lad Mads strikes again

It's not. They simply did not have anyone with knowledge in charge of the costumes.

As this appears to be a designated Mads appreciation thread what did you guys think of Polar? Having read the comic I'd say I enjoyed the movie more and I thought several of the fight scenes were well done. Plus it was nice to see Hudgen's can act and Winnick in a role outside Vikings

I thought it was fun. Is john wick based on the Polar comic book?

Based

Not as far as I'm aware

I have a hard time accepting Hannibal would wear a jacket this ugly

This guy has spent way too much time with Kojima.

Incredible work

Poor Chilton

Question ton decide on watching:

I hate when obvious scum like Killers, Psychopaths , other sick fucks and in this instance Cannibals are glorified and romantcized.

Is this the case here?

Get the fuck out reddit

Mads is great in everything, even the John wick ripoff, the sex scene gives me diamonds

From what I recall, Hannibal is not romanticized or made to seem empathetic. He's just an extremely intelligent psychopathic cannibal.

If you empathize with him it probably says more about you than it does about the show.

In my opinion the character Hannibal Lecter is done best when you've forgotten he's a psychopathic cannibal, only to be reminded very quickly, and violently.
I think the show does it well.
