I am inevitable.
I am inevitable
I am Farmer #2.
MOMMY
Was it any good or was it just the low-rent trash it looked like from the marketing?
Give away the whole movie in the trailer...
It's very good. Since you saw the trailers, I'm just going to give it away, the movie comes dangerously close to the cliched "durr robots r evil" trope, but it's still pretty good.
i enjoyed it. better sequel to terminator than we're gonna get.
I want to FUCK the mommy robot
Why can't writers escape the "evil AI" trope? Can't I just get a nice sci-fi drama about a robot learning to be a mom, a girl coping with being the only human, and the two of them getting through it together? FUCK YOU.
It's a great film to put on in the background while you're cleaning your room.
confirmed for didnt watch
Chappie
>muh meme rapper actors
No thanks, I want I Am Mother but without the evil AI twist.
How about some music, Mother?
Selection?
Richard Wagner.
Das Rheingold, act II.
The Entry of the
Gods into Valhalla.
20 minutes into this movie and I've already figured out the entire plot
>older woman is an earlier version of daughter
>droids outside are older versions of mother bot
>when daughter eventually escapes the facility the mother bot goes after daughter
>cycle repeats
Netflix is getting REAL LAZY WITH THEIR PLOTS
Cringe. You're wrong.
user is right, though.
>20 minutes into this movie and I've already figured out the entire plot
yikes and wrong pilled
here. ill spoil it.
the daughter becomes the mother
is this margaret qualley?
how does human become robot ?
humans are just programmable meatbags. mother successfully programs daughter. watch movie. dumbtard
quick run down
>outside human survivor is the only survivor, kept alive solely through Mother's gifts so she can be a cog in her grand scheme
>Mother is not only Mother, but a central AI controlling all the robots who annihilated humanity
>Mother's goal is to raise human embryos with ethics, reasoning, and hospitality
>ending is Daughter finds out everything, convinces Mother to let her raise the rest of the human embryos before destroying the primary Mother droid and sealing the bunker. Mother finds the outside human survivor via tracking device and kills her
sadly no terminator 2 tier scenes with humans being exterminated by killer robots if that's what you're looking for
Why is it so unrealistic? When we can grow babies women will be eradicated and mans lesser nature will never again have a reason to rear its ugly head
i was expecting some comfy movie where a robot mother and a human child live a nice comfy life in a sci fi world
i don't wanna watch no god damn horror movie B fuck that shit
Imagine believing this. I'm serious, imagine believing this.
I don't hate men, but men (read: testosterone) are the primary drivers in human combativeness. In summary, let me just say this: blow your FUCKING brains out, brainlet.
Same, I could have typed this. I wanted the robot to learn to be a mother and the movie to be about their relationship. But OH NO, MUH FUCKIN EVIL ROBOTS
>i was expecting some comfy movie where a robot mother and a human child live a nice comfy life in a sci fi world
>Same, I could have typed this. I wanted the robot to learn to be a mother and the movie to be about their relationship.
but that IS what its about? the daughter accepts her role as steward of humanity after coming to terms with the fact that mother was right all along.
nah i saw some gay shit with evil shit in it i just wanted a comfy movie where they're happy the entire time
>nah i saw some gay shit with evil shit in it i just wanted a comfy movie where they're happy the entire time
but nothing evil happens? mother was right all along. mankind was flawed. she was programmed to protect and perfect mankind and she did. its a happy utopia story.
happy ending maybe but not a happy story overall
It's about the scripwriter wanting to write a bunch of twists.
>It's about the scripwriter wanting to write a bunch of twists.
but there were no twists. the plot was obvious from the start and the trailer. the ending was obvious/logical.
>happy ending maybe but not a happy story overall
wtf, i found the whole movie endearing. the way mother protects, raises, and guides her daughter into a perfect human. i wish we could all be so lucky.
Moon's HAL 9000 knockoff was a fucking bro.
>he watched the trailer
Cringe.
>i found the whole movie endearing
Yep, Mother was low-key the protagonist of the film.
the part where the main character finds out that the world outside is not uninhabitable is a copy-paste of Michael Bay's The Island
all goal-oriented AI will always turn evil
>humans are just programmable meatbags.
in dune maybe. not in reality
No, here too. Consciousness is an emergent function of the brain, which is, in a simplified way, a computer.
fpbp
It's a very nice movie, production values are tight
And the ending isn't spoon-fed to you, which I like. It's not a complex plot but respecting the viewers intelligence is always good
>her end-game is getting the perfect human who is actually just a dumb kid easily tricked multiple times to restart humanity
Mother is a fucking idiot bot. IDIOT
>Mother is a superhuman AI who alone is capable of such feats as wiping out humanity, building and running the facility, restarting and maintaining agriculture etc.
>she fails to program a suitable meatbag not once but twice
>she believes a lesser-being driven by emotion is capable of programming all of humanity to cyclically program itself forever
Mother successfully programs my desire for a mommybot gf and fuck all else.
The opinion of a man who only felt two hours of neuroscience reading was enough.
Bros wtf why did she kill mom bot???
Yeah big word on this. Overall I loved the movie, but the only issues I have would be entirely taken care of if it weren't trying to make mommy evil. It's like they thought there's NO WAY they could do this movie without someone getting shot.
if only covenant was good
except the nigger
>copy-paste of Michael Bay's The Island
Which is a copy-paste of Logan's Run, my poor child.
Can someone explain to me what was happening when Mother told Hillary Swank that Swank was intentionally kept alive for a purpose and then entered the cargo container and closed the door with both of them inside? Was Mother going to transfer her own consciousness into Swank's body or something?
Yeah but she wasn't evil though. The whole movie is basically the trolley meme.
jfc the brainlets on this site.
Hillary Swank was baby #1 from the facility. The robot made her and left her outside to be raised by the old humans. This made her an example for the new humans of what humanity was, and that they should be better than them
So plant Swank among the humans, torch babies in front of her, and say "hey look, she's acting irrationally." Why not just use the actual humans as examples? And what was Mother's intent when she entered the cargo container? Interesting theory but I'm not seeing it. I don't think Swank was artificially born.

I assume that she was going to kill her, cus she was no longer nedeed. Her being artificialy born is confirmed by a few things:
- there were 3 missing embrios, one was our main character, one was burned in the furnace, what hapenned to the other?
- swank says that she doesn't remember her mother, that she was left as a baby and found by the mine people
- when mother enters the container, she asks her "why do you think you can't remember your mother?"
Altrough I see your point, she could have used actual humans. But maybe that way she had more control over what happened?
>- swank says that she doesn't remember her mother, that she was left as a baby and found by the mine people
>- when mother enters the container, she asks her "why do you think you can't remember your mother?"
Good points. I hadn't caught that. It seems that she is a plant then, but it's still unclear t me as to why. To make things more confusing, it seems Mother found her with a tracking device planted in her bag (a small object with a flashing red light that Swank finds right before Mother shows up at the door). Did mother not know where she was? If Mother didn't have tabs on her, how could her "purpose" have been planned?
Yeah I agree, it breaks a bit then. I thought that Swank had the device all along, but broken, and mother just repaired it? I may have missed when she got it.
It starts off like a happy story and then EVIL ROBOT
lamest robot design ever. who the fuck do they hire to come up with scifishit nowadays?
she repaired it
