No, even as a kid who was a huge RE fan I didn't like them. I honestly wish they would've went with the Romero script, it was pretty ambitious for him but it kept all of the major plot points/locations/characters/monsters from the first game and it would've been extremely gory.

Apocalypse is the only good live action one.

The first two are fine. They're fine because they're a self contained story. I actually really love RE1 and 2. But the rest? There are some serious fucking errors in plot and tonal consistency.

At the end of the second film, the crew pick up Alice after she escapes with her new psychic bullshit, but at the start of the third film it's several years later and the entire planet is dead? WHY? When they meet, there's no explanation at all about what happened. Where's the little girl? Where's Jill Valentine? Why is the world so small that Alice bumps into half the people she met in Raccoon city? Why did they die anyway?

The film ends with Alice waking up like 100 clones, and then IMMEDIATELY they all die off in the first 5 minutes of RE 4, and then she loses her psychic powers (that she spent the whole last movie showing off) out of nowhere to Wesker.

RE 4 is fucking boring, and ends with them all on a boat, but then RE5 kills the whole boat idea in the first 5 minutes AGAIN. Then Wesker is on her side? And the Red Queen is the baddie again? And they cloned everyone she'd met before because of reasons and then they all die anyway?

RE5 ends with Wesker saying "We're going to need to team up because the Red Queen something something, so here's your psychic powers back" at this fuck off big battle at the White House but then the start of the next film the fucking plot goes 'oh yeah, no Wesker was lying and actually the Red Queen is fine now sort of?' and the battle has happened and ONLY Alice has survived? What happened to Jill and the big black basketball player AGAIN?! Why is she fighting fucking dragons? Why does Jorah Mormont have clones? Why do they keep introducing redshirts without names as the main characters and just kill them off so quickly?! Why is Claire here AGAIN?! Why is Alice actually an old lady? Why does Alice just not die when the plot says "yeah, she has to die to win".

I watched the whole series like twice through when I was unemployed last summer and I can't help but get fucking obsessed with these films that I fucking hate.

There are so many inconsistencies. Why did they kill off the world, and then forget they did it? Why do they keep setting up sequel ideas then quash them? Why Does Alice get psychic powers for 1 film before getting them removed, and then get them back, and then lose them again? Why do Wesker and the Red Queen seem to constantly switch sides for no fucking reason? Why does Claire Redfield keep turning up when all the others either die or vanish without any acknowledgement at all? Why do I KEEP watching these films at 2 in the morning when I've had too much to drink?

7 is really good for the house and the guest house, but after you fight Jack 3 the whole pacing goes to shit. Playing Mia and enduring those long ass cutscenes sucked. Also, the cutscenes and cinematic sections in the beginning make replaying it a chore. I see where you're coming from user, but 4 is just so much more consistent and has a WAY higher replayability factor.

The game has innovations and additions to it, yes, fucking obviously, it is a distant sequel. But it utilizes the same basic gameplay as the original game, with the most obvious being the movement being "tank based".

No, I'm saying it's actually better because it took the original gameplay and created difficult scenarios not based around shooting everything. Resource scarcity was the spookiest part of any RE game and they never used it anywhere because they're all ezmode.

seems like you have forgotten how it actually was. if you have eyes you can see for yourself that the older one is clearly superior in every way. outbreaks are episodic and they have a lot of unnecessary shit like the heart beating during the door open cutscene which was also in CV which funny enough is garbo too. squad gameplay is shit too, pseudo variety/difficulty not to mention multiplayer. resi evil isn't multiplayer get that shit out of here. outbreaks goes into the same category with the revelations, should've been exclusively some handheld games.

Are you high? Obviously outbreak isn't the best possible game but it's great. The episodic nature is for the purpose of multiplayer but them "recycling" meta-maps is great. RE0 style.
Outbreak is actual survival horror, the characters aren't super commandos and it's possible to actually die. Partial victory is also built into the game cause of the multiplayer.

RE0 also recycled areas but not 1:1 maps, returning to areas from a different time/perspective was the best thing RE0 had going for it. It was one of MANY things outbreak did right.

RE has never been actual survival horror past the second or so hall of the mansion, RE2 didn't even attempt horror. Outbreak continued from the trend of multi-perspective puzzles and made it better by weakening most of the individual characters to non-combat tier.

Maneuverability is all you get because infinite spawn enemies and extremely limited ammo and inventory. Thats a recipe for either spooky as fuck or in the higher tier much more skill based play. Obviously on a shittier console you're going to be playing that shit over a lot and getting gooder because there's limited content, it'd work much better nowadays but zombie shit's all dead (especially in RE)

Watched them over a week some time after the last one came out, they're pretty damn crap and their only value is to provide laughs for how bad they are.

Vendetta is turbo garbage that's probably worse than half of the live actions ones. Only worth a watch for the few action sequences.

Until RE4 the majority of every game was mechanical flaws. Outbreak didn't have it any different than RE1-2, 3 was pretty ambitious but unpolished versions of what outbreaks got. Outbreak wasn't even simpler and purer than them because it was scaled to single levels. As a full campaign it wasn't as good as any of them but it wasn't designed to be.
