haha look at that dood

Tell Reddit to get on it, those faggots can get it back.

That’s too bad. I loved the comic book as a kid and i didn’t even know they made a tv series

It wasn't bad, it had a great reception but it took like 8 million dollaroos to make the fucking pilot

why would they do something like this?

Attached: sweeewewes.jpg (1191x708, 47K)

They cut down the number of episodes suddenly but said "this wasnt cancellation" Then they aired one episode and canceled it which will stop people from watching it.

Something happened.

One of the actors must have accidentally gotten an erection while staring at a co-star or something and the whole production is being METOOd out of existence.

>things are only cancelled if they are bad
fucking retard

Holy shit, what is DC DOING?!

DC streaming is folding and will be rolled into the WB streaming service anyways. They probably didn't see any increase in subs with the premiere

Attached: 144356453.jpg (605x700, 122K)

What they're always doing, fucking everything up.

It was cancelled because the swamp got drained by the god emperor.

Attached: womp-womp-trump.jpg (1430x1384, 174K)

Because you're stupid.

Better than anything Marvel has ever done actually, these are sad news

It was good. The thing is it was too good. Went way overbudget, and you can really tell. It had movie-tier special effects.
We'll get the other 9 episodes, so I'm curious as to how far it went.

Sneed

>we can't make this TV series because of paperwork
There's no way this can be real.

kek

That's Warner Bros for you

Out of all possibilities and theories people could throw out that is easily the most plausible.

>40 million tax rebate.

dear god why?

>only got 14.

even thats too much

theres no way one tv show brings in 14 million+ worth of jobs and sales

It was fantastic. Less existential than Swamp Thing comics, but was a genuinely decent body horror. Felt like The Thing (way better than 2011, not as good as 1982).

40 is a huge number

It was made by DC so it's automatically better than anything Marvel has ever made.

As far as I've seen and heard, the pilot was phenomenal. If you actually check more than just the headlines, you'd know why the show was cancelled. The VFX and SFX skyrocketed the show's budget, and the only way it was doable was that the production was to receive compensation for filming in North Carolina. There was some manner of error, whether miscommunication or legislative details being overlooked, and caused the show to only receive 13 of the promised 40 million for filming in their state.

Remember that Republicans and the states they come from are great if you need your toilet unclogged, your grass mowed, or some varmints shot, but when it comes to actual high level business you need to double check everything with them. They're basically like black people.

Vertigo Comics are being shut down by DC and Warner Bros too :(

>Reasons cited for the closure of Vertigo include that things started to go south when Warner Bros. realized they couldn't adapt the comics into other forms of media, such as television or movies, because the comics are creator-owned, so execs at WB demanded the contracts get changed, which saw big-name talent leave Vertigo for better contracts and jobs elsewhere, including Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis, Grant Morrison, and Neil Gaiman."

>Additional problems are said to include Warner Bros. restructuring Vertigo which saw its founder and senior editor Karen Berger demoted and then fired by DC Comics, in addition to Berger's successor also getting fired. The two then went on to create similar brands at Dark Horse and IDW Publishing, respectively.

For you

>bad
money's the only concern when it comes to renewals. this show was really fucking expensive. it was also good, which doesn't really matter at all

hahahahahhaahaha

would shutting down the grants kill dc tv production in the state?

DC can't catch a break.
Rocksteady and WB Montreal are supposedly having development troubles on their DC Comics games.

isn't that illegal or something? having a contract to pay a certain number and then just saying "oh whoops a typo" you can get out of it that easy?

I remember in the early 00s I was on a comic movie forum that started a campaign to get Fox's live action Tick series back from cancellation by mailing in plastic spoons.
It didn't work.

And now you know why television is a dying market

BORN ON THE BAYOU

the real reason is that (((at&t))), which owns (((timewarner))) now, is launching its own streaming service
dc universe will be absorbed

That's too bad, I used to enjoy Vertigo comics. Although, that was a long time ago.

Why is a 80 million dollar production taxed 40 million dollars in the first place.

>8 million dollaroos to make the fucking pilot
That's cheap. Pilot for GoT cost 10. Pilots are usually the best funded episodes too until GoT changed that with their final season.

There were probably copies of the contract with the correct amount but the final one had the error. Government can reneg on contracts like this.

filmproductioncapital.com/taxincentive.html

Holy shit, just bring the creators as consultants. Why do these fagcorps have to own everything under the sun. That's fine though, no one can make kino Sandman adaptation anyways.

Dilate

lol get ready for the Amazon adaptations

That's because they talk to imaginary people and listen to the voices in their head.

Wew, I wonder if people from the retarded coastal states (basically every coastal state that's not in New England) actually believe this.

Amy Arkane a CUTE!

It wasn't canceled because it was bad. It was canceled because someone fucked up behind the scenes and cost them thousands of dollars.

North Carolina was supposed to pay for half of the cost of filming (total of 80million) but then re-negged or something, and offered to pay a much lower price

so they canceled it

>thousands of dollars.

Attached: point and laugh.gif (250x169, 483K)

millions*

>Pilots are usually the best funded episodes too until GoT changed that with their final season.
Pilots are not the first episodes of any season, but of the show. Anyway, in case of GoT the most expensive ones would be 9th episodes where huge combat scenes occur (Blackwater, Mance's assault on the Wall etc).

Reminder that you share this board with uneducated plebeians like OP who only speak clickbait

Several notes we need to touch on
1. Swamp thing episode itself was great and well received
2. There was a clerical error issue with North Carolina where the studio didn't get a tax rebate they were promised which cost them roughly 27 million
3. Time Warner and AT&T are creating their own streaming service and most likely will be absorbing the DC app
4. The studio did have creative issues with the show itself and were arguing over should the show be more horror or procedural.
5. Trump did collude with Russia
6. The series will air the final episodes of season 1 before ending

>only available to watch on a DC streaming service
Who the fuck thought this was a good idea? Why not put this on the CW with their other big shows?

Attached: image.jpg (1024x576, 65K)

pasta from reddit right?

that's how they get movie studios to actually film in NC. Are you business illiterate?

>80.000.000 budget
wtf

Thoughts on episode 2?

Why are there so many fucking streaming services now. I miss the days when it was just Netflix back when Netflix was good.

Because streaming is turning into the next form of cable at this point, it sucks ass now.

As if you can hold the government to a standard lmao

everyone wants in to keep most of the profits. in the near future the streaming market will be more fragmented than the cable market ever was.

shut up incel the clock is coming tick tock tick tock

Tick tock Trump is getting his next term

It's funny because the swamp really has gotten 10 ft deeper

enough to make them drown themselves. trump 4d chess. just stop trying to hate on trump to be cool

> my state inadvertently kills capeshit
Based

The first episode is fucking fantastic.

Nothing to do with the comic book. This was just a woke piece of crap

This is bullshit. They made swamp thing WOKE, it instantly went BROKE

retard

Califag here. I lived in Georgia and New Orleans for years and can confirm. It's like going to a third world country in terms of infrastructure

Pirates win again.

Swamp Thing is a cominc book, do you think all comic books are superhero stories?
Swamp Thing was a horror series that turned into something weird, but was at no point about superheroes.

BUT WHAT IF OUR ACTRESSES NEED AN ABORTION ON SET????!!?!?!?!???!??!?,!??!,

>Califag talking about third world infrastructure
lmao how's that gas tax working out for you?

>califag
>calling other places third world
O I am laffin

Jeweywood has been one long miney laundering scheme for some time

That's fine. Just gimmie more Doom Patrol

here comes the capeshit rationalizers

These online shows for tax breaks seem like money laundering schemes.

What is capeshit to you?
I was working under the assumption that it meant superheroes.

Who are you going to turn to? The government?

>7, ... b-but what if Jussie Smollette was telling the truth?

Attached: libs.jpg (640x504, 30K)

>A paperwork error killed Swamp Thing
Jej. Also an $80,000,000 budget is pretty huge.

Err money laundering is the sole reason most shows get made you retard...entire genera exist based on money laundering, like spaghetti westerns

California is horribly mismanaged in general.

Unironically one of the few things they got right.

Is this the official Marvelgods laugh at DC KEKS thread?

Either way I'm laughing my fucking cock off holy fucking shit

Attached: 1554540443165.jpg (734x734, 76K)

Fucking based

thats why you faggots keep moving to Texas?

>I'm laughing my fucking cock off
so that was a short laugh then

WB and DC literally sabotaging themselves

triggered trumpista

Okay but where's the mega?

Sick burn

Attached: 1559660788660.jpg (774x1032, 164K)

You retard lol. It’s canceled due to budget cuts...basically caused by a paperwork error.

>crashed and burned because somebody said 14 and whoever was writing shit down heard 40

You need to go Back NOW

to save billions*

So we are funding all this mediocre bullshit these faggot companies are pushing out?

Because gentrification is pushing hispanics out of Cali and to Texas with the rest of their own kind

North Carolina has the black face Democrat as a governor tho

Trump just gave a $2 trillion a year tax cut FOR NO REASON to corporations. Tax rebates to bring production into an area is a fantastic economic stimulus that pays for itself.

Nice reddit spacing too cuck.

dude, youre the one literally salty about a swamp-thing tv show getting axed, fuckin retarded man baby.

>horrible show cancelled
>redditors upset
Isn't this good news?

hahahahahahave sex

Republicans are 100% short sighted superstitious niggers. Cope harder.

How are republicans so fucking bad with money? This like when millions went missing in Alabama because nobody fucking checked a high level budget file for four fucking years.

>It's funny because the swamp really has gotten 10 ft deeper
So has your vagina.

Attached: zorakkk.gif (336x252, 1.04M)

fpbp niggas

This kind of shit wouldn't have happened in Georgia. Just say'n

I'm a fan of whoever is winning so I never lose

Have sex

I just had sex with your mom.

Not him, but Swamp Thing is many things but capeshit. There are comic characters without capes and masks.

Reminds me when DC comics sued a DC show company for using their logo only to find halfway through the suit they had forgotten to file the trade mark, which the shoe company did and then sued DC comics forcing them to change their logo.

retard, a tax rebate of $40 million on a total $80 million budget isn't a tax cut, it's literally free money for hollywood jews

A LOT worse than episode 1.

I don't understand why they would do this when only one episode is out. Why not just wait for the whole season to air.

It seems like it would really kill people's interest in the show if it's already dead.

FYI- apparently the rumoured reason going around now is that North Carolina where the show is filmed were unable to deliver a massive tax rebate as was promised (due to a paperwork error), upon realising this they shut down production. The original 40 million rebate was readjusted to 14 million and it would be to expensive to keep up the level of quality for Season 1

>Remember that Republicans and the states they come from are great if you need your toilet unclogged, your grass mowed,
Latinos do that

Georgia here. I hope that finally drives the Hollywood jews out of my fucking state.

I was excited for this shit

wasn't bad at all
