Is it good?

anyone watched this yet?

Watched the whole thing.
Cringe moments with some random moments of interesting metaphysics discussion. Lots more of the former than the latter.
Production wise, felt like a recent season of Doctor Who.

Overall, the tone was very british with the typical fedora tipping pro-humanistic element (along with the typical SJW shit shoehorned in there for good measure). It felt more like Douglass Adams than Pratchett or even the maturity of Gaiman.
Forgettable and would not watch again.

I thought the special effects were hit or miss. I liked the main characters but everyone else was shite.
I wanted to see the witches boobs I can't believe she held out on us

read a book

LMAO!!!! EPIC!!

Enjoyed it actually, I'm a slut for Tennant and Sheen is a marvel so even if you have a passing familiarity with there work you'll be invested in their romance. But by the end I think they did a good job in getting the audience to care for all these random characters "especially ms fine ass anathema pulsifer device i'd let her cast her spell on me anyday"

These. I thought it dragged on a bit longer than it needed to. I'm not a fan of how childish/child-driven these sorts of shows are while still having sex scenes and language, so I guess I'll always be disappointed with British shows.

I like Tennant too. I may watch it just for him. He's the only reason I watched the first season of Jessica Jones.

>anathema is a 8/10 with nurdyxD glasses
stuff like this makes me wish i used twitter. the kvetching of pratchett fangirls must have been something to behold in real time

Looks like le epic quirky reddit humor like Dr Who.

Dude Tennant just fucking goes off in this, reminded me of his physicality in Hamlet, it's great

Yeah I regret watching it, it's literally Redddit: the show

>Tennant and Sheen
Yeah those obviously carried it, but they kinda just played their stock go-to characters; nothing notable or extraordinary. The only other character which was kinda memorable was Michael McKean's, who was kinda funny at times.
Like I said earlier, the whole thing really felt like a by the numbers extended Dr. Who teleplay episode.

Yeah, so it's for people who have taste

I was actually very intrigued by their characters, beyond the performance. The complexity and unsureness to their relationship and there own being really helped them stand out of just being "The nice one" and the "bad one with a heart of gold" or whatever

WHOOOOOOOOOOOORE

oh nice.

That's fair. But I never understood what their motivations were outside of hedonism (they liked eating fine human cuisine I guess). They didn't really care much for their respective spheres of hell and heaven or their kinds. Nor did they care much about humanity, just that they liked some of the shit they produced.
So I was kinda left with the feeling of "why do I care" about that particular reality and their inhabitants. The metaphysical characters seemed like assholes and the physical characters seemed like dull NPCs. It didn't feel congruent enough with our world for me to care about it being saved; frankly it would have been more interesting to see the apocalypse play out in that reality.

I thought it was really good. But I have to admit I am biased.
I am an atheist, so I usually enjoy anything that calls out organized religion as the ridiculous, unbelievable shit-show that it is. How anyone actually believes in these silly, bronze age fabels is beyond me.
