Hercules theme song is extremely generic and forgettable though.
Love this show so much, Xena too. Fuck I think I need to put them on right now
Cassandra is best girl by the way
I watched a few seasons last year. Its immediately comfy. By episode 2 or 3 we are already getting puppets and forced perspective giants. Haha that giant episode is so good.
Kevin Sorbo is a bad actor but he has a lot of charisma and oi vey dat 90s rockstar hair.
The biggest problem is it's only available in 4:3 standard definition on prime. Dont know if this changed.
Is this better or worse than based Xena?
x10 bettter
He may be a bad actor, but he's the good bad actor because of his charisma. He can just say he's disappointed, and you'd believe he was truly disappointed.
You lose
All those 90s Sam Raimi syndicated adventures are awesome.
Charisma goes a really long way
watched that and xena a great deal. I can't even remember either song
It's supposed to be seen in 4:3 standard, that's how audiences saw it on television in the 1990s. Get a CRT television and it doesn't look as bad
Besides the crappy CGI, this show is still extremely watchable.
Anyone remember the episode name where Hercules is in a castle that is under siege the whole episode? I remember it being rather dark as a kid, as the soldiers in the castle were dying of injuries and disease, completely cut off from aid. Hercules was powerless to help them. I've been wanting to see it again.
I've seen every episode multiple times and it doesn't ring a bell. Do you remember anything else about the plot?
Hmm. I think there was a scene where the enemy soldiers kept trying to scale walls with ladders? I kinda remember the enemy soldiers had a giant mechanical beast at the end. I think.
I was obsessed with this show as a kid, I could of dreamed all of this. Or maybe this was a Xena episode.
Joke's on you, OP, I'm deaf.
Hmm, it sounds similar to the Xena episode "Beware Greeks Bearing Gifts"
Hah.
definitely not that though, xena couldn't afford ladders
the low production value of the 90s xena and hercules series made it seem more theatrical to me in a weird way, it was very play like rather than most TV
It worked because they played up the camp and toed the line between serious and goofy. Also the beautiful New Zealand locations helped too, you don't need much in the way of sets when you can rely on nature.
Shows that ripped them off like Beastmaster, Sinbad, Sheena, etc didn't understand that what made Herc and Xena work so well was that precarious balance between serious and silly. Well that and both Lucy Lawless and Michael Hurst are brilliant actors
I legit can't remember
WOKE UP DIS MAWNIN'
