Those terrible movies taught him the basics while he geared up for his opus

The Hungover movies were good, critics hated them because all the white male leads

Wtf? I tought normies loved hangover? Well i did

The first was good, the second was decent if a rehash and the third was just incoherent

I loved the first one. The second one was just okay, kinda forgettable. And by the time the third one came I out I just didn't care anymore, and was sick of people quoting or referencing those movies.

>How the fuck did he do it???
With paid shills and bots.

Honestly the only ok films were the sequels to the Hangover and that's not saying much. This guy was even less successful than Paul Feig and the Russo Bros and I can't see the Russos or Feig directing Chernobyl either. Wtf HBO and Hollywood? Why do promising filmmakers get shit all to do but crappy ones get opportunities of a lifetime all the time?

>what are commissioned staff writers

Both the Hangover and Bridesmaids were surprise hits cause they were better than the average comedy flick but then comedy went back to straight dumb shit ever since.

Rocketman + Superhero Movie + Identity Thief + Hustman + Hangover 3

chernobyl was based on a real story and had really talented people working on it with passion for the project
lightning in a bottle really

>I thought my life was a tragedy, but now i I realize: it's a comedy

not sure what you expected from sequals to hangover or scary movie, of course something like that is likely to be retarded

soul vs soulless sad really guess 20 years of poeple saying its only ok made him snap finally

SM3+SM4 are unironically masterpieces and Hangerover 2 + 3 are fine, if you liked the first one.

Wait, I thought the Huntsman was Tarsem Singh?

He faked it until he made it

honestly it would be pretty hard to fuck it up, the story is already there as is the scenery, also do directors have much control over casting or is that all the casting director? because the cast really carried the show

critics like shit tier drama more than shit tier comedy and fantasy, what a shock. have you never seen schindlers list, the colour purple, titanic, or any normie oscar bait drama? knock 70% off the critic scores for any of them

He directed the sequel just as he did the Hangover and Scary Movies, he's a hack sequel director who lucked out and got landed an HBO critically acclaimed show.

Its pretty obvious he was largely influenced by the BBC documentary annd just expanded on it.

The writing was the weaker part of Chernobyl. Listening to Mazin's podcast he knows his stuff but hes a bit to hamfisted in his approach. Renck and his production crew should probably get more credit for why its great.

He's a hack who got lucky
Chernobyl was carried by the other parts of the show and all the shit that was spelled out for him.

Well yeah HBO productions tend to have top notch production teams vs the showrunners and directors they attatch to them.

Cringe.

Scary movie 3 is one of the goat spoof movies. 4 and superhero movie are both underrated as well

yet they let thecoffee cup through

Well he was probably either failing because of other people involved or he's succeeding now because of other people involved
Running the numbers one seems more likely than the other though doesn't it

all the OC shit in Chernobyl was trash tho

his only contribution to the production of the show was tweeting about how it was all about drumpf on twitter and if you dont think so you missed the point

you know it's true

i like all 3 top and middle

Maybe he is a studio pawn
