Why has there been no history kino about their story?
Czech Legion
maybe even a miniseries
BECAUSE NOBODY MOTHERFUCKING CARES ABOUT YOUR GENERICALLY DEPRESSING EASTEURO CULTURE
I wasn't kewl during commie times and no good directors in cappie times. Also no famous books about it.
Because it goes against the narrative that the red army fought evil landlords
Americans can't find the Czech Republic or Slovakia on a map, and lack cultural affinity with them. Ergo, no ticket sales nor big studio interest. Best bet would be a small independent film partially funded by historic societies along the lines of Ken Loach's "Land And Freedom" or a crowdfunded project heavily advertised to Czech nationalists.
I'm not even from there you dumb fuck just think its prime for some good story telling. Could see the eastern front of WW1, Russia collapse into civil war, strong themes of nationalism and struggling to survive through the siberian wastes.
>Small elite forces rebells and fights evul commies, then tries to get home in greatest anabasis since xenophon
Sounds like something burgers would love, if they had any clue about the civil war.
it would make a great miniseries
some americans can not find america on a map
that does not mean it would not be a popular miniseries
>Americans can't find the Czech Republic or Slovakia on a map
True, but Americans can't find anything on map. There is going to be Jan Žižka film by Czech director starring Ben Foster as Žižka and Michael Caine.
