I honestly hated it and it thought it was just stupid, but an accurate portrayal of what scum women are. Take Amy's character. She's sent down to her home town to do a job, get a story about how the murder of these teenage girls is affecting the town and the people in it. What is evident is that the people don't really give a shit about it, nobody does except the girl's dad and everyone just thinks he did it. Then another girl is killed and again only one guy gives a shit so everybody thinks he did it. She doesn't do her job at all, is covered in self harm scars for pretty much no reason. And not just any scars, super edge lord word scars. Think there's a deeper meaning there, there isn't. She did them all herself because she was sad, she somehow even did all the ones on her back by herself which are completely legible she had a real talent at self mutilation.
She does her job for about maybe one day interviewing a couple people and the rest of her time is spent about just drinking, walking around town and fucking some men. But not just fucking them, because she is damaged so sex has to be some weird mutual masturbation or "you're as fucked up as me" edge lord shit too.
She also hangs out with her mother and sister, who she doesn't like and how she gets her is plainly stupid too. She goes on a side quest to investigate how one of her sisters actually died and finds out it was her mother that killed her which comes as a total shock even though she's clearly seen that her mother is poisoning her other sister and that she herself was poisoned by her for years, which she completely remembers.
The killer becomes insanely obvious to anyone paying attention as soon as you see her sister at the pig farmer's place. One girl had their teeth pulled out, the show says that this MUST have been done by a man because it was so much power, but that was just a blatant red herring in this show full of obvious ones.
And her flashbacks? Pointless. At least we saw Amy Adams fuck.
yeah it's pretty good, amy adams is great as always, it's a bit slow but has enough mystery to keep you interested.

Her cop boyfriend refused to speak with her, the local sheriff thought she was toxic to the community and her family. As soon as she confirms her mother is actively poisoning her sister, she steps in and takes the hit herself, because any delay means her sister continues to be poisoned. At which point, her mother takes her phone and she's so weakened that she can't even stand, much less seek out help.
