I tried real hard but by like the second or third episode I just couldn't keep watching, besides the blatant sjw pandering, there was also some dialogue between the two mains that really heavily implied a homosex relationship between them. Neil Gaiman more like Kneel Gayman amiright?
why would Adam and Eve be white?
They have found fossils that contradict the "out of Africa" theory.
You are posting wrong information.
Can you sotp making this thread already? Nobody cares what triggers you.
the thing is, those aren't even the worst things about the show.
im a /pol/fag and that shit is the least of the shows problems, but it does show where they were coming from politically
>out of africa theory
lmao, it's not the 70s anymore grandpa.
hahahahahahahahhahahah
no.
>god is a woman
>adam and eve are black
>antichrist is a white male
nope, not any agenda there
Havent had the occasion to watch it, started tye first episode but my family was being loud so I only reached the point where they dressup.
At some parts I smirked, others it felt like the editing was awkward and had some raw cuts.
Consider I am watching it dubbed, I did not like the scene where they drink, felt a bit try hard on Tennant's part.
>religion
>evolution
this is your brain on leftism
hahahahahahahahhahahah
yes.
If you don't think the show is one of the best in the past decade... you have no taste, low IQ, or /pol/ has rotted your brain. Literally 0 things wrong with black adam and eve because if the creation myth were true at all, first humans would have been black or at least brown. Jesus himself was brown, if he were alive today you'd be calling him suicide bomber. Blame the Romans for being coopted by middle eastern creation myths and your ancestors for carrying that fanfic forward into the modern day. You guys are as bad as the people who watch anime dubbed, then complain about the original voices. Ultimate pleb filter for magatards right here. I'll be watching it again in the years to come.
Out of Africa theory is out of date. There are heaps of other examples.
It's not one of the best in the past decade at all. The two leads (both the characters and Sheen and Tennant playing them) are great and the angels and demons are pretty good but that's about it, the kid actors are awful, Whitehall and the whole Witchfinder plot is dumb and annoying, the witch is a cute but basically a nothing plot device character, only one of the fucking horsemen of the apocalypse is even slightly threatening with any presence and replacing pestilence with pollution as if disease isn't still rampant and killing millions in the world today is the most sheltered bullshit I've ever seen, it's only six episodes long and still somehow is far too meandering, it's basically fucking Harry Potter meets the bible.
Why do you post articles you don't even read.
They found an 88,000 finger bone in Saudi Arabia, a 130,000 year old jaw bone in Israel. Now compare those to the 300,000 year old human fossils from Africa. The only thing that fossil discovery changes is change how people think humans migrated in the past, not their point of origin. And earth used to be one supercontinent called Pangea so nothing matters anyway, we and all the animals and life on earth are quite literally one family. If you're triggered by something like black adam and eve you have a small brain and probably a small penis.
The kids pretty much acted like actual kids. Maybe you just don't like kids. Witchfinder plot was great... Whitehall was pretty much a noncharacter standin but Shadwell was good. Besides most of this is following the book, which it was pretty faithful to, so your criticism is probably more directed towards the original story anyway. The horsemen aren't supposed to be really threatening, no mire threatening than the demons of hell. The original story is supposed to be a tongue in cheek comedy romance, not grimdark horror.
It's supposed to be a critique or a lampoon of the current state of our world while providing a hopeful message that we will all make it if we can get past our differences and get along. Peace trumps war, life trumps death, compassion trumps indifference, and love trumps hate.
>The kids pretty much acted like actual kids. Maybe you just don't like kids.
The kids acted like shit actors acting like kids. Maybe that's unfair, perhaps it was more the direction than their fault, but compare them to the cast of Stranger Things in season 1 or that kid from the Nice Guys, they were good at acting, these kids were wooden and dull. I'm not criticising what their characters did, I'm criticising their performances. It being faithful to the book doesn't just make my problems with it disappear, it's still a meandering mess that actively chooses to focus on its least interesting parts.
>The horsemen aren't supposed to be really threatening
They're the four fucking horsemen of the apocalypse. Being threatening is literally the very point of their god damn existence. Saying it does the things that let it down on purpose doesn't change the fact it lets it down.
Well for one evolution isn't real
Because its a semetic religion. Or are you an anti-semit?
And second, the theory says the human ancenstry is much more complex and the species you would call homo sapiens originated in the middle east and egypt-africa. Now if you shve a chimpanzee, he is white and he is vetry closely related to humans. The black african we know is much more an adaptation, like the caucasian genotype to northern sun, to middle and south african desert like habitat.
So every Eve and Adam should be more like middle east mediterenean skin color.
>Adam and Eve are black
The earliest known humans are African so there's that.
of course it isn't, if it was you would have millions of years to develop your brain, but as evident, you were spawn with a hollow skull right after morning psalm
>complains about plot device character
>is literally named anathema device
big think
Not that user, but regarding the 300k is more like a sapien species. Its literally still a human ape. The homo sapiens we know is more like 100k-200k old.
What you describe is more like an apemen.
You didn't even need to start it to begin with, dummy
The writer acknowledging she's a shit character doesn't change the fact she's a shit character.
Because the garden of eden was in mesopotamia
>how do i into meta commentary
Her growing out of being a plot device was her character arc. How much of a brainlet can you be.
Stranger Things kids sucked. They tried too hard, just like IT part 1. I think you're just unfamiliar with real kids, at least average ones, because they're pretty much how they're portrayed in the show. The ones that run their mouths and say they'll fuck your moms or watch porn together during sleepovers are actually the exception, at least it was in the early days prior to the ubiquity of the internet.
And no, I think you're just unfamiliar with Terry Pratchett's work and fantasy literary works/tropes/British humour/sensibilities in general. Low fanstasy GoT style magical realism is a fairly new fad and not the style they're gpikg for at all. The villains are supposed to be mildly sinister but also bound to a certain set of rules as dictated by whatever they represent. Pollution, death, famine and war are not malevolent forces, they are the result of human apathy, hatred etc and in the case of death, it's probably more a force of good than bad. You probably aren't familiar with Gaiman's concept of death, a beautiful woman, which is just taking the concept of death being an old friend to the next level. In either case, death and the other avatars are not supposed to be evil, they simply exist as they are.
Something being meta doesn't make it automatically good and someone being a shitty plot device then deciding once the plot is done to not to be a plot device anymore but still just be a nothing character whose only achievement was being a shitty plot device is not a good fucking character arc.
>The ones that run their mouths and say they'll fuck your moms or watch porn together
Michael is also female, despite being '"firstborn son of god"
Also bible says all angels are male , but in this show half of them are female
Also, in the book out of the four horse people of apocalypse, only war is femma, thus they genderbended pollution just for the sake of it.
Basically the so called 'realistic' kid image they're pushing for nowadays (as a countercultural movement in response to the goody two shoes, chaste and innocent kids depicted in the 90s) in shows like Stranger Things and IT are about as false as the 'innocent' image of kids they are trying to subvert. Real kids are overwhelmingly aloof, suspicious of strangers, and live in their own little worlds not unlike that depicted in Good Omens. Good Omens has a more accurate portrayal of real kids than Stranger Things.
Who the fuck said anything about evil? Threatening as in frightening with a grand presence about them equal to the weight of their great task, regardless of their spiritual neutrality, and the irony here is you're saying death is a beautiful woman who's like an old friend when in the show Death was the only fucking one with any actual screen presence and threat about him despite being some mocap guy wearing trash bags with a Cox voiceover. No-one but you is talking about low fantasy magic realism, once again the show would have been better if they focused on the two leads and exploited the talents of Sheen and Tennant more (which would have meant more fantasy and more magic) so I don't know why you're bringing that up like it's fucking relevant at all. It's pulp fantasy and the show isn't as entertaining as it could have been.
Tennant and Sheen are good, but for me most jokes fall flat, even horribly so.
Also I can't really immerse myself in the story, because everything is so whimsical and "magical" that it doesn't feel like there are stakes at all.
It's OK for the first half, goes to shit at the end though.
>Stranger Things is counterculture meant to subvert the 'innocent' image of kids
Are you fucking high?
They had a decent presence so I don't know what you mean by that. The Gaiman depiction of death was just an example to show you that death does not necessarily have to be threatening at all.
Death in Good Omens was clearly more inspired by Pratchett's take, as in the Hogfather. If you aren't familiar with these works the show may seem offputting.
I didn't give a shit about the kids in the book and I didn't give a shit about the kids in the show. It's always been Aziraphale and Crowley on a wacky adventure for me and they mostly captured that
>based chuck survived and lives in england blowing the fuck out of rostie witches
i believe it
Culture is cyclical. 80s kids were less guarded and more wild, 90s kids more sheltered AS DEPICTED IN MEDIA (not reality).
The reason for the 80s resurgence is for two main reasons, one is that the kids are now adults and enjoy the nostalgic depiction but also two which is that our current age is experiencing a countermovement against the values most recently set in place, which just so happens to be more in line with the values that the 90s rebeled against, which is the perceived culture of the 80s.
Death was clearly more inspired by the Bible and every fucking classic depiction of Death that has ever existed (big skeleton dude in black robes who has a job to do and will do it whether you like it or not). There was nothing unique or distinct about him at all.
this is white to an american. let that sink in for a second
None of that explains how Stranger Things is supposedly counterculture meant to subvert the 'innocent' image of kids when it's just fucking nerds playing dice games.
Death was never in the bible. Are you talking about some random medieval fanfiction. Because even then you'd be wrong. Death is clearly a tribute to Pratchett's death character as in the Hogfather.
That's because they were the nerds. But you still hear about them alluding to sex and shit, which is completely absent in the 90s depictions.
>Death is clearly a tribute to Pratchett's death character as in the Hogfather.
not even a tribute. terry co-wrote the book and the death in good omens is the same character as in the discworld. he is the personification of death in all realitys of the multiverse
>Death was never in the bible
biblegateway.com
>And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him.
By your fucking logic the Death in Good Omens was actually inspired by Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey.
>Neil Gaiman
>Watching shitshows like this
kys OP
Ok now cite the part where death has a voice, is draped in black, and is a neutral non-threatening entity. What you posted was barely a characterization, just a personification.
Thanks doc.
Again, all classic depictions of Death which were inspired by the verse. A skeletal figure draped in black who is neutral (neutral yes but not non-threatening, Death is always threatening if you don't want to die) has been the standard depiction of him since people started fucking depicting him. You're giving Terry Pratchett credit for inventing a concept that existed before he was fucking born you uncultured swine.
>You're giving Terry Pratchett credit for inventing a concept that existed before he was fucking born
In fact, he used that specific design for Death on purpose. It's an in-universe joke that stuff looks the way people think they should look like.
Go read faggot
Except Pratchett's depiction was always ironically poking fun at those things you described. There is a whole other element you're missing. Even death on a motorcycle is supposed to be a comical concept, uodates horse aside. If you're not in on the joke and take it at face value it's going to seem campy, just like The Evil Dead series in fact.
>A skeletal figure draped in black who is neutral (neutral yes but not non-threatening, Death is always threatening if you don't want to die) has been the standard depiction of him since people started fucking depicting him
the black robed skellington comes from the times of the black plague before that death was depicted in a llot of different ways. the biblical way would have been to make him an angel (of death). the scythe and hourglass comes from chronos the greek god of time.
Literally everyone serious still believes the first humans originated in Africa, there's only disagreement over the timetable recently
Underrated post
M8 Death is played completely straight in the show and once again he's the only horseman with the weight and presence suited to his role and task, him riding a motorcycle is fine, him being a bit campy and grandiose is fine, but suggesting he's somehow unique is just outright ridiculous and the other three horsemen are basically smug midgets who don't hold up beside him. I ain't gonna continue having this circular fucking argument where you keep talking about stuff no-one is saying.
she cute
I actually think Sheen sucks in this and I’m normally a fan of his work.
I actually think your mom sucks dicks.
>goblina rostie
>cute
Angua was the best girl
>an actual bitch
Dont blame me. People call spain or italians white too. Its all a question of sunburned skin.
And what do you call the chimpanzee than? Pinkish ash grey? You clearly see his body parts with less hair is darker. So its just normal that skin darkens and some african descendant got olive and others black skin. And other got more pinkish.
Everyone’s mom does except your gay mom
>he doesn't have a hot lesbian mom
LMAOing at your life.
she looks like fucks white guys with a strap-on
i'd describe the colour of the animal, yes. White people dont have white skin it's just something we call people that aren't anything else.
we're not evolved from the chimp. the chimp and us shared a common ancestor. that's why they're sometimes called our" cousins"
what on earth gave you that idea?
>People call spain or italians white too
The whole "mediterranean skin" is completely exaggerated. We're all pretty much white here.
Except for the gypsies and moors, that is.
Didnt meant to devalue them. It just depends on how much sun they got.
>Terry Gillian almost made a Good Omens movie in the 90s, with Johnny Depp as Crowley and Robin Williams as Aziraphale
Would it have been better or worse?
And this means the same ancestror gives the same gens.
Thats why human and chimpanzees gen are 99,4% identical.
Since many other apes have white skin under their fur too, we can all agree that white/ilive skin is the norm under apes and humanapes.
>Terry Gillian
I think it would have been better. Although I like the current casting of those two characters, but the overall show has the family-friendly similar to any of the Pratchet discworld TV shows. I would have liked to have seen somehting less GAY AS FUCK
>many other
to vague. some apes have jet black or Brown skin aswell
>you can’t take creative liberties with fictional characters
Have you not noticed WHAT they are taking liberties with, in almost every case? White + Christian. It's OK to take liberites with these characters or ideas. But not any others. Take American Gods for example. No mention of Allah or Muhammed in there is there? There's no taking liberites with that. There's no shows saying, what if Muhammed was a white man?
And these wise and up-to-date, surely academically approved and scholarly-approved books are?
Okay. What's your point?
Muhammed was an actual historical figure tho
You hate black people and you're not even white.
Depends on where he comes from. Middle Easterners can look pretty white.
>black
>brown
burgers and their shitty racial categories
>Terry Gillian
what's with that opening sequence?
And even than the black skin developes overtime while the sun darkens it.
The Garden of Eden was located between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers
Because that shit never happened in the show. It starts with God creating the Universe and Adam and Eve 6000 years ago
Mohammed was a ginger
Do you creatures ever stop complaining? Does it ever get boring?

It's got kabbalistic elements, with angels/heaven not being fundamentally good. So not only is it pretty Jewish, its a heretical kind of Jewish.
I thought it was okay until the final episode, but I don't understand the hype.
Is it as ham fisted as Dr. Who?
