Dude fell into the genre fiction trap and got typecast. Same thing happened to Tricia Helfer, which surprised the hell out of me. Past Battlestar Galactica she's done nothing but bit parts in TV movies and VA work for vidya and cartoons. I wonder how she, and other actresses feel about it. I mean, some actors have their heads up their asses and want to be serious thespians or whatever, but I bet even the most hardcore "muh craft muh thee-ay-tur" guy enjoys playing superhero or fantasy warlock even if they won't cop to it, but I can't imagine a woman that commands as much sexual value as Tricia Helfer (or Morena Baccarin, another good example) is content that her career peaked at being fapbait for horny alt-right anime nerds.
