I love how low-key they kept Rawls' orientation.

were there any insinuations other than when he's at the bar?

Am I the only one creeped out by how they have corpses in the bar for sending away when coppers die? That seems like it would violate a health code or something.

The above graffiti and Landsman’s chuckle when he sees it.

The writing's on the wall.

You will never have Prezbo as your teacher :’(

He always talks about sucking cocks and taking it up the ass. You notice a lot of this shit on rewatches.
Also his remarks about slaying pussy are so fucking awkward.

Why was Bunks son in the special class with the trouble kids?

Yfw you’re reasonable.

>Also his remarks about slaying pussy are so fucking awkward
This. The man pulls off dick-sucking jokes flawlessly but anything vagina related is meh.

He’s definitely one of the best actors since he can portray it that well.

With jews you always win.

The Rawls/McNulty dynamic is only bested by the McNulty/Bunk relationship.

This...is based.

Attached: lt daniels.jpg (480x360, 9K)

Fuck you and fuck your stripes

Plays pretty much the same character in the amazon prime series Bosch.

Which character's death was the most crushing for you?
Bode by a long shot.

And in Fringe...

And Fringe.

>not Frank Sobotka
It's All So Tiresome

Just started watching this and now on s02e6... fuck how much i have been missing. Easily the best tv ever made. Was sold instantly when McNutty and Bunk were investigating murder of the black girl and they only communicated with fucks.

Same career path as Bunny

S1 pacing is god-tier desu

While I agree that one was also crushing (fuck Ziggy that dumb bitch). My choice was mainly due to the sheer duration he had through the series.

It only gets better. Hell the show gets better on the second watch, it's really incredible.

Agreed

>Bodie gets shot in the head you have to see his corpse with the alarms blaring in the background

Attached: IMG_20190512_192722.jpg (950x691, 65K)

He played the game so well. He was a perfect soldier. Also the general relationship with McNulty was just great.

Shiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

Attached: E786E77F-1A7D-4BB9-AC7A-F447B38C4C66.jpg (1200x675, 123K)

there's a scene where landsman tries to convince rawls to bring mcnulty back into homicide using, after considering all the other stuff about rawls, some sexually charged language of the homo variety.

Anyone else absolutely love how Clay straight screwed Stringer? I agreed with a lot of his views trying to bring everyone together but I had no sympathy for him being such a dumbass for doing deals with Clay.

>McNulty! My Bedroom!

Attached: DzUsrdLX4AAmi2Q.jpg (418x472, 23K)

awww fuck

I'm so happy Cedric and Rhonda got together and actually made it through.

>McNutty

Wallace and Bodie

>Wallace
That one was also brutal

Does Bodie get killed by Michael?

You DID lock that do', right?

Attached: string.jpg (731x634, 23K)

They all look alike but yeah prolly

I fucking love Rawls as a character, how many shows would have the balls to make a gay character a complete fucking cocksucker and never even mention the fact that he's gay except in the tertiary sense? It's like the reverse Hollywood bullshit.

Nigga is you taking notes on a fucking conspiracy?

Nope, it was O-dog

Rawls is my favourite character by far. The actor playing him is dope.

Attached: 34659864598.png (710x468, 571K)

safe with daddy

>it's a McNultys love life scene

I can't stand those. They're like the "Carm takes up trading stocks" scenes in Sopranos

Just stick to the good stuff fuckers

As I said. All them jungle bunnies look alike.

Still better than omar's disgusting fag scenes

the symbolic death of dukie 2bh

You've all landed in the jackpot. Pick your posts.

Any good shows that portray bureaucracy?

I just want more McNulty crashing cars while drunk driving.

Dammit Dukie, why didn't you enroll in a GED program.

What was the episode where the cops start rounding up crews and driving them to the woods at night or pepper spraying them and shit? I thought it was in season 3, but I haven’t run into yet on this rewatch. Unless I fell asleep during an episode or something. It’s kind of bothering me that I can’t find it.

>Rawls weaseling his way onto the Carcetti governor ticket
He truly knew how to play the game

>tfw I had to stop rewatching it, because I was at the episode where he dies

Attached: 1511679026984.png (318x678, 298K)

Wallace

>driving them to the woods at night or pepper spraying them and shit
I have no recollection of this. I remember them rounding up people for Hamsterdam but nothing with pepper spray.

no

it's the intro of s3e6

motherfucker

Are you Robert's dad?
Can I get free movie tickets?

Where's the boy, String?

One crew they bring to the woods in the van Sanny drives. The let them all out and one of the cops goes, “we’re still in Maryland. That’s the North Star, you want to head that way.” and points the other direction. Then the cops get in the van and drive away, and the corner crew is alone in the woods at night and an owl hoots.

I think I slept through that entire episode. I was pretty sick last week. Thanks.

Ah I gotchu now. The pepper spray thing was throwing me off.

Yea, that was a different van. Carver does that. I was all the way up to episode 9.

Why is season 5 so mediocre? What did they get wrong?

the journalists are just boring, they should have just went with the regular street nigger stuff

You can make it interesting with journos. But they didn’t.

The serial killer plotline was just dumb and the newspaper subplot isn't good. It was just Simon grinding an axe against his workplace and self-inserting himself in as Gus as a crusading editor.

but then it wouldn't be realistic, journalists are not human beings

Honestly my second favorite character. Perfect example of how to write an antagonist-ish character that is still fun and not annoying to watch. Take notes, Sopranos.

If only we got to see more of them. I loved when sailor McNulty goes to homicide in season 2 and salutes Rawls casually and Rawls is speechless.

Prez giving Dukie money even though he knows he's going to spend it on junk was a good scene

Prez seems like /our guy/

This is an important episode with a lot is my favorite moments.

What an incredible fuck you.
When Prez shoots the black officer At least there was a silver lining with his career move

season 2 reboot
youtube.com/watch?v=9H-mnq2Buqo

Frank, even though he was in the wrong he cared about his people an insane amount. The screen slowly fading to black as he strolls towards the Greeks and his murder is etched into my mind.

It gets worse on third once you start seeing the cracks, like David Simon self-inserting all over the place to preach his political views (Colvin).

I had sympathy for him. He was the good guy in that situation, trying to eliminate the need for murder in the drug trade. Clay was just a piece of shit.

>David Simon self-inserting all over the place
Yeah it can be annoying but I unironically love Colvin and the Hamsterdam idea

I bet you loving watching black bulls fuck lots of white women.

I love how Elba’s character in the office still asks people to shut doors.

Kek. Would have been better if they shot a middle eastern kid though.

Season 2 is really underrated.

Every McNulty scene is kino you pleb.

Completely agree that his ideas for the drug trade were great and I do feel bad that Avon was so thick and fucked it up. But c'mon, you don't even have a short chat with your on-retainer lawyer about it?

They had a great chemistry and I was happy to see Rhonda break the McNulty cycle.

Too short, though I doubt the press could have filled 13 episodes anyway. Press has uncharacteristically one dimensional characters, you can describe most of them in a sentence. Serial killer plot was ridiculous.
>muh hamsterdam
We’re willing to suspend belief on that because it’s an interesting concept to explore, even though yes the press would find out much sooner. The serial killer is just retarded though.

This guy is still alive. He’s a walking heart attack.

Attached: BB39EC0C-013A-4CF8-AF83-F5DE783533EB.jpg (1024x768, 70K)

>having a hot wife
no
our guy is probably some dock wagie

I like Hamsterdam but not Colvin. He’s too saintly on a show where every other character has light and dark sides.

>when carcetti tells everyone to do their normal thing and Landsman whips out the titty mag
Just wonderful

It’s not really, it’s definitely the fourth best, but it’s pleb filter for sure.

The stevedores shipping that van was funny as fuck

I just finished season 3

I loved it but I'm curious what's going to happen in season 3 with Stringer and Avon gone

The black dude from The Walking Dead is pretty good in this I would say, he does come off as a fish out of water who's been in jail for 14 years. didn't do end of up contributing to the season's story though.

That’s the point of his character. Like Avon pointed out, he was a street guy trying to make it in the white collar world without actually being smart enough to. It’s tragic.

Which do you consider to be the worst season? Lemme guess: 2?

Didn’t he lose weight?

Dunno

You’re in the prime of it. Your questions will get answered and those arcs aren’t over.

fair enough

Reminder.
Slim>Avon>Poots>Brother Mouzune

>season 2 is the fourth best
>so I must think it’s fifth best

Attached: 994EACBA-E6FE-458A-A589-F3E7B51E1CD1.png (817x443, 34K)

Season 4 introduces a whole new cast of characters who are basically the main characters on the street side for the rest of the series

And no Cutty doesn't make huge ripples in the show

Poots > all
He has such a funny head

John goodman looking motherfucker

Same reason I don’t like Lester honestly. Just too flawless a character.

Sorry, early in the morning here. I misread you.

>Slim
When he blows Cheese's head off
A true OG

Slim is reddit, the character.

That’s okay yurobro. And 5 is obviously the worst.

Lester reminds me of Connery’s character in the Untouchables. You half-expect him to get killed to create drama.

I've seen 'im!

Shut up cheese.

>not taking his money before killing him
He’s a dumbshit.

I really wish they would've showed Lester fucking up a little more. Yeah they had the handful of times where he was shitfaced but nothing bad. But I'll attribute that more to Lester's lengthy time on the force.

He comes out of pawn shop knowing everything about the most modern technology and when he gets bored and gets himself fired he retires with a pension and his stripper girlfriend half his age. Pure Gary Stu.

>caring more about revenge than money
I never implied making the OG move was the smart one.

Good job making a cool scene for redditors. Hope it was worth $9 million.

He’s got that tweedy wisdom, though.

You’re not helping his case.

1=2>3=4>5

>1=2
I like season 2 but there's no way it's at the same level as 1

Fuck Marlo that little prick
Fuck Dukie for being the only tv character that made me cry

imagine the wire being made today.

>Fuck Dukie for being the only tv character that made me cry
Honestly always felt worse for Randy and how much he got fucked over.

Randy will make it
He's too smart to be some little nig nog that dies on the street
He's Slim 2.0, just like Duke is Bubbles 2.0

No, he was a hood samurai

Golden age of HBO right here

>Was sold instantly when McNutty and Bunk were investigating murder of the black girl and they only communicated with fucks.

literally one one worst scenes. Pure reddit garbage.

Love the show though

IIRC they use the same photocopier trick in Homicide: Life on the Streets. Some funny shit

I think it’s bait.

>Pure reddit garbage.
This is the most reddit criticism

GOLDEN AGE, GET YOUR GOLDEN AGE RIGHT HERE
WE GOT THE GOLDEN AGE

I liked the McDonalds misdirection more but the copier is great.

Pandemic! Got that pandemic!

>He's too smart to be some little nig nog that dies on the street
That's what killed me about it. Fucking weebay's bitch of a son gets a great home but quick thinking Randy gets screwed over. Yeah he'll make it but it's a shame.
Dukie was always shafted so I expected his fate to come out how it did.

>I hear WMD is the bomb.

This
Great scene you are a pleb

*ahem*
FUCK PREZBO

Bodie ;_;

Its hardly his fault. He was practically raised by his overbearing mom. Everytime she wanted him to man up shed do it in the way all women do: chip away at his manhood, humiliate him, and nag and shame him into doing what she wants. Weebay never taught him how to be a man.

By no means do I think it's was his fault but he was still a bitch and I wish Randy would've capped him at some point.

I love how dated the first season is. Niggas using pay phones and all

I see you dressed left today

Attached: assistant-states-attorney-rhonda-pearlman[1].jpg (230x230, 11K)

How much money did McNutty make a year?

100 grand from all his side hustles selling confiscated WMD

Best and worst actor respectively? Bubs and Kima for me.

PANDEMIC

Kima played the tough dyke well though. The writers just didn't give her much to work with. Every other cop had important interactions with fellow cops or characters from the street. What kind of character development did Kima really have? Nothing outside the boring story line with her lesbian lover. Personally I would have found it interesting if they had her get drunk and sleep with McNulty in that one episode when they were on steak out.

Bodie was a true soldier

Would you vote for Carcetti?

Walking Dead character he's referring to could be Father Gabriel/Carver

That's not even that big

For me, it's the bottle rocket.

I always thought body bag was funny. What an awful name for your drug.

Honestly yeah.

Stringer and Avon never saw eye to eye philosophically? Who was right in your opinion?

Avon. He knew what he was. Stringer was too uppity.

I felt bad for Prop Joe. He built and empire by making compromises and setting aside his ego. He looked so sad and defeated when two of the few people he trusted stabbed him in the back.

>this guy fucks a white woman
>a black lesbian
>another black gangster lesbian
>gay black gangster
>idris elba
glad this didn't happen today, Yea Forums would freak out

Today it would have been pushed like hell that these characters are faggots. It would be their entire character. In the Wire their sexuality is secondary and incidental to their character

Best HBO show ever. Better than Sopranos.

OMAR COMING YO!

McNulty! Eh.. I meant Dunham! In my off... Shit I meant Bosch, in my office, now!

Haven’t seen Bosch. Does he really play the same character?

I want to lick rhondas pusy!!!!!

So you know what the plural of pussy is? Pussii.

* "A Hunting We Will Go" in the distance *

>who's been in jail for 14 years

You gave a fuck when it wasn't your turn, Jimmy.

D'Angelo's.

Because Lester was meant to contrast McNulty. And he did fuck up big time though down at the end.

Ziggy's Duck

You have a one dimensional look of things.

Ziggy’s duck is GOAT

season 2 is the best, right?

You’re probably everything wrong with Irish-Americans.

Is it hard to rewatch the fifth season?

Watch only the parts with Clay Davis and the jew lawyer and it's good. everything else is trash

This.

OP here. I am as surprised and pleased as you are. And also, that episode is really good.

How realistic is it that a police lieutenant is ripped like a fucking super model?

We used to make shit in this country. Build shit. Now we just put our hands in the other guy's pocket.

Attached: 0.jpg (480x360, 8K)

good obviously

What would the criminals be using for communication if a new season was made today?

frank

That was sort of the natural conclusion of his arc, but still

They'd use their regular phones and use "encrypted" messaging apps.

Attached: clap clap.png (587x600, 475K)

carm and tony’s dynamic is entertaining as fuck, a kissless virgin wouldn’t understand

So basically it would be impossible for the cops to read the conversations? I guess it wouldn't make a good show.

it’s pleb filter working out splendidly i see

They’d use more high tech bugs and shit. Long-range microphones and stuff.

your way... it won't work

Everything with the journos is so drawn out and fucking boring. The whole dynamic of the editorial system could be condensed into a single episode.

Daddy

he does fuck up though

>he doesn't know US labor is expensive
Was sobotka a brainlet?

>calling everything that is remotely beloved by a majority within a given group reddit so as to virtue signal to all that you’re totally not a reddifugee guys im 100% a 4channeler!!!

They'd turn some informant to provide screen shots or put immense judicial pressure on the geeks behind the software to retrieve logs anyway. Happens all the time.

let me tell you something brother

Prezbo liked Johnny Cash. Truly our guy.

people complain about the fake serial killer plot but THIS was the most unrealistic thing about the wire

Jurors are dumb

nobody can be that dumb

Prosecution or the judge should've done something. Davis was grandstanding.

What is the plural of pussy?

Attached: bunk.jpg (500x373, 15K)

The real tragedy is Marlo made it to exactly where Stringer wanted to be and didn't appreciate it.

I feel old.

I been out there since I was 13. I ain't never fucked up a count, never stole off a package, never did some shit that I wasn't told to do. I been straight up.

But what come back? Hmm? You'd think if I get jammed up on some shit they'd be like, "A'ight, yeah. Bodie been there. Bodie hang tough. We got his pay lawyer. We got a bail." They want me to stand with them, right? But where the fuck they at when they supposed to be standing by us? I mean, when shit goes bad and there's hell to pay, where they at?

This game is rigged, man. We like the little bitches on a chessboard.

:(

Attached: wire_bodie.jpg (250x375, 19K)

Wallace, Bodie, D'Angelo.

>when McNulty finds out about his death hops in his cop car speeds to the corner pretends to question Poot to find out who killed him and finds out it was his fault

test

I always loved the way that Marlo looks from the balcony, back to Chris, and then back at the balcony. "That's some Spider-Man shit right there..."

Attached: 584893472.jpg (480x360, 14K)

Did he though? The jew lawyer introduces him to the developers and as I understood it he was about to be their next "victim". They were going to bleed him like they did stringer.

He's black

Avon couldn't move forward because of his hood mentality. He held stringer back.

bunch of malacas in here

Oh man and he freezes up/slows down while searching Poot, heart breaking.

Was Burrell incompetent or not? I got the feeling he was.

Eh maybe, I just think he was too much of a career man who wasn't smart enough to make good moves like Rawls. Honestly he got one of the best deals in the end though.

Chair don't recognize your ass

How he just hops in the car like that thinking he can save the world... It ain't fair man.

Retard, Cheese was making a move to become the new kingpin. Slim ended it right then and there, thus ensuring Cheese's idiocy would cause no further repercussions. It was also symbolic of ending the kingpin role entirely and going back to what Joe wanted - everyone working together off one big package with no fights or beefs. Cheese would have fucked that all up just like Marlo did. It's like you watched the show and got nothing from it.

The journalist stuff was great, it's McNultys game that is excruciating to watch. Search your feelings.

Thanks man, will definitely be checking out.
