Forest Gump

yeah, LoTR

Godfather

Fight Club, author even said so.

I thought Children of Men was quite a bit better than the book it was based off of. The book was fine too.

Wild Wild West

the dark tower was rly bad

hiveminding everything Stephen King

He's a shit tier writer.

Why would they? Book is better.

Just go to Yea Forums and search for ‘gusic’ I the catalog if you don’t want to leave this site

No Country for Old Men

It's objectively not unless you're a hyper autist

American Psycho

why does this image make me so uncomfortable?

What was worse, the Harry Potter books or the movies?

Seasons 1-4 of game of thrones
Because it has Martin’s great plot without his terrible prose
Most of his worst tendencies are in how he writes descriptions, you can’t fuck that up in a tv show
Beyond that the show became worse though
Based
As shit as that movie is the book is somehow far cringier

Jaws
Psycho
Touch of Evil
Cape Fear

Most potboiler books make for better movies.

Both are shit but I cant really criticize them when they were intended to be for children and it isnt Rowling's fault millennials became such insufferable faggots

>worse is better
New Jersey detected

Shawshank redemption

You are not ready.

I'm from New Jersey and I think the JP movie is better than the book :(

You write like a ghettonog.

A more interesting question is how many novelizations are better than the movie source?

>implying

the ritual, that book was trash but the movie was surprisingly watchable. also not exactly what your looking for but the tv show happy! was far superior to the graphic novel

Frankenstein (1931) and Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

Novelizations are usually adaptions of the shooting script. The recent Star Wars ones were written after the movie was done, though.

I haven’t read them but probably the prequel novelisations

absolutely wrong
the book had so much more going on

harry potter r3

clockwork orange

This one

I also hear Under The Skin is a pretty shit book
A lot of King's books but that's more due to him being a lame writer in general

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest

The Shining.

lawnmower man

The first four books were entertaining but only the first three movies were good, so advantage goes to the books.

This

FUCK Stephen King

The Virgin Suicides

The book isn't very long and the movie basically has everything, and the soundtrack is perfect, though one thing I do prefer in the book is that one of the Lisbon girls survives the night of the mass suicide, and has to kill herself again like a month later, alone.

Yes

Misery was a pretty good movie, but Annie (I think that's her name) came off as a crazy loon in the movie, but in the book he did a great job of portraying her as being on a whole other level of evil. Almost supernatural. Book was even better.
The Dark Tower is fucking epic from what I've read so far (1st 4 books) but the movie is apparently utter shit

imagine thinking this

Very much agree with this one. Mark Strong really stole the show.

Zathura

Starship Troopers

>pet sematary
>either movie being better

Just say you've never read anything. Save yourself the typing.

based

I liked the book more.

Passion of Christ

The Short-Timers/Full Metal Jacket

the original alien novelization is supposed to be very good, maybe not better than the film but still great.

>The Shining

I've never read the book but it can't possible be as that bad as that overrated trash.

I probably wouldn't go as far as saying that it's "better", but Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is an excellent adaptation.

rolling

300
Once Were Warriors
Aquaman

Agreed.

Movie is shit propelled only by special effects, boomer. Spielberg is a hack but Crichton is kino.

Cringe. I love the movie and the book but the book nailed the characters better and the extra detail makes their downfalls all the more satisfying.

Life of Pi

the only Kubrick book adaptation that was worse than the book was Lolita
>no one's mentioned Drive yet

See

Even Palahniuk says the movie is better than the book

choke

I'll give you season 1 of Game of Thrones because it was a perfect adaptation without pages of Martin talking about food in banquet halls. Too much changed after that to put the show on the same level

That must be one shitty book
It's close. The few changes they made worked well.
Definitely
