What happens to a country completely dependant on imports when there's no food to import? Everybody will hoard their resources. People will starve and the economy will collapse big time. Only after that will there be any lasting change - but that scenario will repeat itself every 5 or so years for a long, long time.

So your argument is that humans need to prevent a wholly natural occurence such as the polar ice caps melting? Should we put the excess water in a giant tub a fling it into outer space? Nothing will stop this from happening. The only thing for humans to do is adapt like we always have. This means moving inland. It also means that we need to stop facilitating overpopulation. And closing up the borders will be imperative for all developed nations over the next century as undeveloped nations continue to overpopulate and breech our lower population, developed nations' borders.

If that were true the temperature spike would match the CO2 spike. It doesn't.

natural gas produces energy cheaply. Nuclear got ruined by red tape.

Cumulatively the United States has the most emissions. And the United States has significant sway on the manufacturing methods of China, but not vice versa.

It was like that for a while but a few years ago solar panels became efficient enough that they produce more power than they cost to manufacture

A geological timescale is much larger than recorded history. In the Cambrian period there was 7,000 ppm co2 in the atmosphere vs 415 today. Global temperature was several degrees higher, there were no ice caps, and there was more biodiversity then than at almost any point in Earth's history.
