I wouldnt say it was a good movie but it wasn't the terrible abomination Yea Forums made it out to be. Aside from about 2 scenes I also didn't feel the movie was too much in the "stronk womyn" thing. The special effects were kinda crappy though as well as the makeup for the skrulls.

It was surprisingly okay, not as bad as I expected. It got very cheesy towards the end, though and the last ~20 min felt very long.

I really really liked the Unicorn Store. I was prepared for the absolute worst, based on the horrible reviews and venom spewed by "professional reviewers".

Brie Larson weirdly can't react or emote naturally in any of her Captain Marvel appearances when she was fine in Kong: Skull Island.

Maria Rambeau had no place in the final battle. She had a child to take care of.
Girl power scenes are obvious and annoying. It's not as bad as EG or IW but it's there. Way better films have done it subtlely by having the female prove themselves through action instead of just telling they're better.
Nick Fury losing his eye to a cat is insulting to the audience's intelligence. It retroactively ruins a scene in Winter Soldier.
Captain Marvel is never in a fair fight where she's in an disadvantage and won by perservering or by being clever. This is disastrous as that is the bread and butter of capeshit. Choosing to not fight Yonn-Rogg is insulting just for a shallow "women have nothing to prove to men" message.
"Letting your emotions control you" message is deeply inferior to "Control your emotions and weaponise it to win". This is better than having "no emotions" message that the Kree employ. They could have even connected it to having Carol be the reason that Fury lost his eye because she let her emotion overwhelm her so that she learns to control them.
The Skrulls look cheap. The concept art provided during the Marvel panel at comic con looked great.
The Supreme Intelligence not being comic book accurate is a big disappointment and makes the film feel ashamed of it's source material.
I think still this is salvageable. Captain Marvel/Ms Marvel has always been a stoic soldier but she had great compassion and love for people. I think that should be more of a focus. Being a feminist is something she can never escape though as it was with her since she became a hero.
