GOODBYYYYYYEEE

Honestly I thought it was great. Beautifully shot and a great concept. Was super confusing but never left the viewer clueless. Their use of side by sides from past, present and future kept it going. But the most impressive thing about the show was the casting... Did they cast ppl from same family for resemblance or do all Germans look alike?

Why is there a Season 2? It ended perfectly.

Germans show need to show up more, they are very talented ,if only producers were given more shots at this countries we could have more kino

Season 1 was great. I have no idea what season 2 will be like though, because of how season 1 ended. But it's going to be very different, which might be bad.

basically a Stranger Things reboot then?
(since the original is so royally fucked)

I really enjoyed it throughout, but I'm worried it is now going into a strictly sci-fi show. First season was mostly mystery with weird scifi/time elements, but it seems by the ending that it's transitioning hugely.

I think the creators have confirmed it's a 3 season show and then it'll be over. Curious to see how they do these next two.

>basically a Stranger Things reboot then?

It's nothing like Stranger Things. I've never got the comparison. It's quite unique and unlike any other show.

from the IMDB
>A family saga with a supernatural twist, set in a German town, where the disappearance of two young children exposes the relationships among four families.

remove germany, shuffle the number/definition of families, and you've got ST

Dark is about a German town that has children abducted and brutally murdered spanning over 6 decades. The entire plot spans around time travel from 33 years in the past, to the present, to 33 years in the future. It is in no way, shape or form like Stranger Things.

Maybe watch the show instead? No similarities to ST. Dark is far superior.

My bad, it actually goes 66 years in the past IIRC. I've watched a couple of times and still don't have my mind wrapped around this one.

>no way, shape or form
>these are the differences
>because there are differences, there are absolutely no similarities
Holy shit you fucking mental patient.
Time travel is supernatural, etc. They may have siginificant differences but they are thematically similar.

>Stranger Things
>kid goes into the upsidedown world and supernatural girl with powers fights monsters

>Dark
>serial killer brutally murdering young boys in a German town
>characters time travel to try and change timeline to save loved ones

Ending of the season was so-so but overall it's a good show and it's ridiculously refreshing to watch something (especially on Netflix) that has an entirely white cast.

>dude the synopses are vaguely similar that means the shows are basically the same
Absolute brainlet post user

What was S1 like? Ben Frost's score is enough to make me want to check it out but "Netflix original series" really sends a chill down my spine

Season 1 is fucking fantastic. Everything about it. And S2 is later this month sometime so now is a good time to watch.

I'll check it out then, cheers

Just don't watch the dub'd version, it's seriously shit. Watch subs with original German audio.

It's a show that's "Netflix needed content so they got this thing" rather than "Netflix has to make a certain amount of propaganda or Soros will get angry".

This. I watched Stranger Things and because of the dumb comparisons and they were nothing alike, (and also ST was vastly inferior)

>that scene where Ulrich pounded the fuck outta helge's face

Could that even be made on an American show? I was pretty blown away by it desu

PURE KINO

I did not like that the handsome boy died. ;_;

Maybe like 5 years ago but definitely not now. There'd be an uproar.

Every part of this scene was also kino

She's the craziest bitch ever by my God I wish a woman would be into me the way she's into Ulrich.

Time-travel incest was kino

I marathoned it the other night and loved it. Need to rewatch cuz so much I likely missed. Are there any other shows like this you guys can recommend? Been a while since a show took me in like that. Need more time travel kino in my life.

I enjoyed the first season, but the first half was too slow.
The show could be better if they filmed in a real European forest instead of a reforested region.

germans are unlikable robot people with zero charisma. other than that, it was pretty good.

Funny you should say that cuz I found the characters (and casting) to be my favorite part of the show. Tho Jonas, as the main character, could have been better I'll admit.

>tfw no flat yandere roastie wife
>tfw you'll never fuck your friends mom

the music is godlike and the show is good

The final ‘future’ scene did not bode well for further seasons. Didn’t fit with the show, which was fantastic throughout

The comparison is made by people who dropped it after the first 1/2 episodes. I certainly felt that way too.

I kinda agree. I fear S2 might suck. S1 just seemed so godlike as a self-contained work, even though it didn't really have a conclusion.

Nevertheless I'm hyped.

We knew there was going to be 2052 and we knew that would likely be following a nuclear fallout. I didn't find it surprising, tho I do agree it could easily make the show shit. But I'm cautiously optimistic.

I liked Jonas. He's got flattened affect because he's incredibly fucking depressed throughout the show owing to his dad committing suicide and then his entire life disintegrating into a series of fucked up time warp jokes. He's believable as a (teen) everyman.

If I had to pick a comparison, it is more like Donnie Darko than Stranger Things desu. But it's a pretty unique show.

S2 better have some gay love scenes with Antje Traue bulling other 50s German ladies or i will stop watching

It was the execution

How does Ulrich exist both in the present and in the past, and has very much shaped the present with his past actions? He was in the police files and shit...so is he coexisting or how does that work?

Yea Forums loves dark. People know it's the best show on netflix but for some reason pretend it doesn't exist.

>Dark
I thought it was kino.

Would you bludgeon a child with a rock if you thought murdering him would save your son? And was Ulrich right for trying?

She did just have a lesbian scene in Dead End season 1 that was released a month or 2 ago but sadly no nudity beyond pic related boobs pushed together.

it was too hammy and too busy for a bumfuck town
literally >postapocalyptism lmao
how would it've been made better?
have no people around. just ruins. there, it's instantly better, if not perfect

I skipped through a lot of it. Is that bad? It's a slow show and I don't have all day. Ten hours, what were they thinking with this?
