You can form your opinion based on whatever criteria but thinking that Joe Rogan is a "professional" in anything other than interviewing people is absurd.
Joe Rogan basically took the boring drug scenes from Fear and Loathing and wrote hour long comedy specials about them.

Stand up was different then, and Seinfeld was popular on late night talk shows which was how you became a household name. Jerry and Leno were like the last two of that generation.
