Who the Hell made NZT and why didn't they keep it for themselves?

Just saw the movie. Never saw the show.

Seems like some Illuminati type shit.

It's just supposed to be speed.

Because it was a placebo.
Bradley Cooper just needed to be himself to /make it/.

Would speed really turn me into a successful politician?

Are you kidding? It's a prerequisite.

>Take a drug that makes you a supernatural genius
>HOLY SHIT, I'M SO SMART I DIDN'T EVEN THINK I WOULD RUN OUT OF MY DRUG SUPPLY

The problem with writing geniuses is that you have to be at least smart to write them.

oh right, ya you'd think that would've dawned on him before even taking any.

A shit ton should have occurred. Yet...

>the only reason to be president is to get the presidential drug cabinet
I've heard about some crazy shit.

Haven't seen the movie, but is there a reason he would think the company or whatever would stop producing the drug?

That part bothered me too. I think it was implied that he was holding it off till later and was so preoccupied doing other stuff that he took more than expected.

He didn't know where it came from, all the people that had it were dead. He made money to the point where he could just make his own.

He got it from a dealer who fell ass first into it.
It and got killed for it, it also kills you/turns you into a vegetable if you quit cold turkey.
He had hired a private lab to figure out the formula, and to produce more for him, and at the end of a movie he throws a twist.
It's not the best movie ever made, but it's a good weekend matinee kind of movie. It's a neat premise that lets your mind go wild with what (You) would have done differently with genius medicine.

Shitty that they decided to go the detective/crime route with the tv show.

see

I had no interest in watching the show about it. The premise barely made it through a single movie, and I could totally see how the show would just be one super ebin genius ruse after another until you realize that nothing of consequence actually happens.
Or maybe some kind of anthology or miniseries. How a stash of NZT gets passed on from person to person through tragedy, accident, malice, luck, whatever.

>forgets to pay back the loan shark

He had been losing time, so it wasn't completely stupid.
Him giving him a pill, however, was fucking retarded.

Ironically, you're supposed to turn your brain off in order to enjoy this flick. So many plot holes, contrivances and inconsistencies to keep track of

The show was kino though, it pretty much follows the same formula as the movie.

It blows my mind why he wouldn't just poison one of the pills and give it to him.

This has to be one of the worst movies ever made. You have this retard premise "dude what if there was a pill that made you so super duper smart you could take over the world?". Then the guy makes retard mistakes because there has to be conflict. It's like some kind of capeshit but it's so much worse, I can't even explain why it annoys me so much.

>ay

>It's like some kind of capeshit but it's so much worse
>I can't even explain why it annoys me so much.
Because your brain has been poisoned with memes and you lack an ability to articulate your thoughts anymore.

Tbh I never could, maybe I'm just a jealous brainlet who wishes he had NZT and that's why I'm annoyed.
Seriously though I want someone to articulately btfo this garbage movie.

It's not really worth all that energy.
It's a dumb trashy movie that's just trying to have a little fun with the premise.
The fact that he's a stupid asshole who causes his own problems is how the conflict is incited, and the end of the movie is him announcing that there's been a character arc as he's now looking 10 steps ahead instead of just reacting.
I've never heard anyone try to say that this is a deep or great movie, just some fun.

The show was Kino, although different from the movie, even though they tried to tie it in.

With pharmaceuticals, you have to test them,
So inevitably, there are people who have tried them.
You just try to keep the results somewhat under wraps.

The TV show was kino one they got past the initial premise, and let the main actor just go with being a goofball.

it's easier if the mc just makes mistakes

Is somebody in Hollywood implying a drug like this exists?
