Why does he wear the mask?

He thought magicians were getting lazy and relying on the same old tricks they'd been doing for a hundred years and wanted to force them to come up with something new.

I work with a washed up magician that works at the magic castle periodically.

He's the most insufferable person I have ever met. All his "tricks" consist of illusions. He will go to lengths to defend other magicians and throw you off the trail when you know the answer to how the trick works.

I told him that I saw a guy wearing google glass during the penn & teller magic bullet routine. you can fucking see the bullet go up their sleeve with a retracting string. "No. No, that's not how it works." Yes, that IS how it works you stupid motherfucker. It is literally like a kid on a playground telling you his dad works for Nintendo and making up lies, just to hide the "magic" instead of having a conversation about the intricacies involved with the sleight of hand.
