I never got past season 1, mostly because I just haven't had the time yet, I only started watching the series this winter. They kill off Jimmy? That seems strange...he seems like basically the main character, despite the ensemble.

Are there? Actually they've slowed down quite a bit in the past six months or so. Breaking Bad just had a mediocre ending and way less rewatch value than something like Sopranos or Mad Men so it's no wonder the discussion died down in comparison. Not to mention Game of Thrones which retroactively shat on the story of the previous seasons. Fewer people would now want to watch the earlier seasons where they act like the White Walkers are the great threat and whatever. It's a bunch of tease from the first minute of the first episode onwards and the payoff is nothing.
