Where are the voting critics listed? This is mediocre.

I'm doing an alternative unranked list with the movies you've mentioned (that are not part of OP's pic):
Amour
Black Swan
Blade Runner 2049
Certain Women
Cold War
Drive
Dunkirk
Don't Breathe
Embrace of the Serpent
Enemy
Foxcatcher
Goltzius and the Pelican Company
Hard to be a God

Turin Horse
Upstream Colour
Whiplash

Just remember the original list is an aggregate and critics don't like or agree with the choices. It's not your list, it's a community list. Having said that, is our list better?

The lack of niggers concerns me

hook me up with some recommendations please. i still have some 2010s catching up to do

Ugh. God, that chick is hideous in every fucking photo and video. Kat is her name? She even has the gross looking teeth. Fuck is wrong with you basement dwellers?

thank you. ugly, bad actress, and an insufferable personality. anons like her cause she has big knockers

>1. “Mad Max: Fury Road"
4/10. Digital technology and modern Hollywood editing techniques ruined the appeal of the original Mad Max films. And considering the Mad Max series was never great to begin with, a woke digital update certainly doesn't qualify. This was a very annoying movie; headache-inducing. Belongs in the capeshit and Transformers category.

Only Lovers Left Alive was kino

Show your list, faggot. Whining is easy. Propose or gtfo.

based Hershlag is mogging her

Where the FUCK is Raid 2? It shits on Mad Max.

>1. “Mad Max: Fury Road” (George Miller)
Imagine being a "critic" and giving the first spot to one of the worst action movies around because it has strong female characters.

The Tree of Life, The Master, and The Return are the only things on that list that aren't literal dogshit or foreign art movie garbage.

>1. “Mad Max: Fury Road” (George Miller)
Arguably the perfect action movie
>2. “The Tree of Life” (Terrence Malick)
Overrated to hell and back, Malick a hack
>3. “Moonlight” (Barry Jenkins)
Nothing special
>4. “Boyhood” (Richard Linklater)
Really nothing special either, 3.6/5 not bad not great
>5. “The Social Network” (David Fincher)
Pretty good
>6. “The Master” (Paul Thomas Anderson)
The best movie of the decade and easily of the entire century so far
>7. “Roma” (Alfonso Cuarón)
Trash
>8. “Phantom Thread” (Paul Thomas Anderson)
Good but a big step down from Inherent Vice not even in the same league as The Master
>9. “A Separation” (Asghar Farhadi)
Great movie
>10. “Inside Llewyn Davis” (Joel Coen)
Pretty good indeed, not as good as A Serious Man though

>18. “Call Me By Your Name” (Luca Guadagnino)
Gay melodrama, doesn't leave a lasting impression. Good in the same way a refreshing shower is good, you enjoy it but don't think about it later. Same goes for Boyhood and the rest
>20. “The Act of Killing” (Joshua Oppenheimer)
Second best movie of the decade right here
>20. “Inception” (Christopher Nolan)
Holy yikes!!!
>20. “Holy Motors” (Leos Carax)

The Master

. “The Tree of Life” (Terrence Malick)
>S'alright
Wait until your family starts dying. Watch it again, it'll be different.

He's right though.

What faggot came up with that shit list?

The Master has no flaws, there it is, I said it.

porthole

The Master is PTA's attempt at outing poseurs by making something utterly disjointed that vaguely resembles a narrative feature just enough that it confuses them into praising it out of fear for being labelled a pleb.

An intentionally terrible movie carefully emulating a masterpiece. A true work of genius. Why do you think the plot of the film involves a cult leader who feigns insight and brilliance but is secretly full of shit? It's a metaphor for the film itself.

tl;dr if you think The Master is actually good you're a pleb.

Attached: 1420841617611.jpg (662x800, 176K)

Yikes

I see you've run out of things to do without letterboxd threads.

Multiple ones.

>No MCU

very problematic

i’ve got a lot of these on that list already, but i appreciate the new ones. i posted in another thread recently about wanting to get into Greenaway, gotta get on that

A drug dealer

Name one (1) truly great MCU movie.

It won't.

what a shit decade lmao, the year 1999 alone has an infinitely better list

>david lunch lol
I can't imagine being you buddy, it must be hell to have such a shit taste

I'm not sure if you're saying 1999 was good or shit, but some of my favorites are from 1999.

You know this pasta wasn't mean to be taken seriously right?

>No Godzilla KotM
FUCK THE CRITICS

Attached: 1559568425402.jpg (2844x1600, 1.5M)

How does it feel knowing you've been duped into thinking The Master is a masterpiece? Your future has two possible outcomes:

1. You'll naively continue to give the film undeserved praise simply because it's the only thing you know how to do at this point.

2. You'll escape from the cult of fandom surrounding the film and become like one of those ex-Scientology advocates on daytime television.

Attached: 1539451794898.gif (448x487, 1.71M)

>it's another PTA cribs from Altman and Huston episode

>10. “Inside Llewyn Davis” (Joel Coen)

Attached: 1546511706042.jpg (1080x1080, 119K)

pretty good list, only one i haven’t seen is incendies. i’ve seen several anons attest to it so i’ll have to check it out

I'm saying the 2010s were pure shite for filmmaking and 1999 alone had better content

>it's another PTA blatantly pulls from Raging Bull and Goodfellas episode

Attached: BoogieNights.png (1920x1080, 2.62M)

No he is not. I agree that The Master is a great film but not the best of the century.
>The Weeping Meadow
>The Turin Horse
>Hard to be a God
>Syndromes and a Century
>The Hunt
These are all better than The Master.
Definitely check Greenaway out. The Draughtsman's Contract or The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover are good starting points.

Attached: poster-livadi.jpg (448x643, 175K)

Not him but how's it not a masterpiece? It uses film techniques and performances to the fullest.

okay name 1999’s ten best films

This is going to be a Y I K E S from me.

he’s baiting man. The Master is absurdly good

You can present your first argument of why The Master isn't great anytime you want buddy, no need to rush

The Master isn't even PTA's best. There Will Be Blood takes the cake.

Moonlight is literally everything wrong with cinema nowadays:
-boring
-manipulative
-style over substance
-blatantly rips off other films
-only liked for politics
If you liked that movie you're full of shit.

I never said it was his best, the topic was films from the 2010s. But I agree with your choice for best PTA.

>2. “The Tree of Life” (Terrence Malick)

only these have the potential to be considered great 50 years from now

>no black panther
so they were lying when they said it was the greatest movie to have ever graced the planet?

Jesus christ, I swear critics compete to see who can be the biggest pleb without being called out

100% correct

it’s not in my top 50 but it’s better than most films that come out these days. the first segment is pretty darn great

>It uses film techniques and performances to the fullest.
lmao is this how you determine if a film is a masterpiece?

Attached: 5983765839.png (645x729, 91K)

Jenkins really needs to cool it with the WKW worship

>Roma
will only be remembered as the first good netflix film

It's missing the best of the decade so far.

Attached: 1543321139707.jpg (2880x2048, 1.19M)

how else? you're personal reaction to it? too subjective, too emotional, and you get retards unironically proclaiming "favorites" as "bests"

Alright guys, what would your list be?

Moonlight is an incomplete film, there's a hole after the second act that doesn't get filled

It's just like Precious, that movie from 2009 that won a ton of Oscars because of white guilt, but no one remembers it anymore.

Attached: 01.png (601x230, 14K)

Do those critics browse Reddit? That is a Reddit tier list

I agree with almost every point. I'd even add that it furthers racial stereotypes by portraying the most cliched black neighbourhood and plot beats possible.
I'd call it straight racist if it wasn't directed by a black guy

One Million Years B.C. uses film techniques and performances to the fullest. Therefore, it's a masterpiece.

Attached: One Million Years B.C. (1).png (1920x1080, 3.4M)

And Selma. Boring nig movies.

A film only needs to be brilliant in ONE (1) thing to be considered a masterpiece as long as the other parts aren't embarrassing. The Master excels in almost everything so it's not the case but you know, you were being quite a plebe so I dropped this quick reminder just for (you), don't thank me

1. Good Time
2. Beasts of No Nation
3. On Body and Soul
4. Childhood of A Leader
5. The House That Jack Built
6. Arrival
7. Cosmopolis
8. The Master
I can only think of 8 right now

>Precious
>white guilt
But it was blacks abusing other blacks in their family though???

Unironically yes. Marketing agencies flood reddit to promote discussion of very specific topics through the use of sockpuppet accounts.

None. I reject this awful decade and go back to pre-2007 kino.

Honestly two of the Batman movies were better than Mad Max.
List is a tad shitty.

...

>you now remember when media shills where seething at the academy over not having not having black nominees but only cared for the Selma movie specifically
>now no one gives a shit about it anymore

The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Stagecoach
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
The Rules of the Game
Of Mice and Men
Goodbye, Mr. Chips
Gulliver's Travels
Jamaica Inn
Young Mr. Lincoln
The Wizard of Oz

>Overrated
what a critic. next Ebert right here.

The internet, PC culture, and digital cinephotography have ruined cinema. Prove me wrong.

Also Disney buying everything. They even ruined the Disney store.

PC culture and digital cinematography is spot on. But because of internet people can find films easier than ever. So that's great in my opinion.

Alright, i'll give it a shot

I think it's more that production companies aren't going to risk budget on things that aren't loud CGI messes.

Also a factor. No risk.

Black Panther

a total shitfest for the woke crowd.

this list is garbage and it's everybodies duty in this thread to tell you that it's garbage. you write like a gay jewish critic btw.

literally one of the worst ones lmao

Yeah there's literally a lifetime of older content that still holds up. You just have to look for it.

Attached: It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (3).png (1920x1080, 2.26M)

ruined by horrible VFX and trying to be too much at once, there's about half of a good movie in there

>Holy Motors is the lowest and it's one of the three things actually worth watching on the list

Take this complimentary YIKES with your (you)

Spoken like a true cuck, keep sucking up that corporate cum.

Agreed, all those retards that dislike it yet like every other marvel film, dislike BP only because it has black people in it. It's the best marvel film because it has actual characters instead of caricatures like the rest of the MCU and the plot is almost Shakespearean. Great plot, great CGI, great acting and a visual treat. Great film.

Mass critic voting polls are like that, the votes from people with discerning taste filter to the bottom

Attached: 1500444643863.png (640x640, 708K)

>Shakespearean
stopped reading

Not the internet, but it's bastard child social media ruined everything

It's true, educate yourself.

>plot resembles hamlet
>OMG SHAKESPEARE
actually study shakespeare apart from what you learned in middle school english

>Shakespearean
Jesus fucking christ dude stop embarrassing yourself

lol nice one, lad. all of the characters are caricatures.
>T'Fagga = le righteous prince who must overcome muh hardships muh father's legacy
>killmonger = the evil relative who wants the throne and is reckless, the claudius/scar of the story
>prince's mother = le wise, understanding mother
>prince's sister = le rebellious but bright teenage sister
clichés, caricatures, done to death archetypes.

Attached: flat,800x800,075,f.jpg (248x189, 15K)

I agree, it's definitely more Lovecraftian or Kafkaesque.

Not at all. It's a fucking superhero flick.

Shakespeare is not about the plot. All his famous pieces were based off something else. Shakespeare is about language and good characters, both of which BP lacks.

>Kafkaesque
Not the movie itself but the culture surrounding it was unironically like a Kafka novel.
>bought critics
>paid shills
>SJW propaganda
>undeserved awards
>charities buying tickets for the negroes
And the movie was an absolute, undeniable piece of the putrid, liquid dogshit, bottom of the otherwise bottomless barrel that is capeshit.

Bunch of fucking retards. Don't reply to me unless you have something to say. Black Panther is a masterpiece of modern filmmaking, it's shame that you can't appreciate the subtle nuances of the film. Watch more films, read some books and then come back and we can discuss the artistic merits of Black Panther.

Facts bruh! I was out here in these streets the other day n all mah niggas was like "damn, ryan coogler really dabbed on bergman with that marvel movie tho no cap keepin it 100 with yall" i was like "damn, shit crazy out here in these streets" baka desu senpai yall haters aint shit fr fr

Absolute fuckin People Magazine tier list. What the fuck is a rag called "IndieWire" doing promoting all the mainstream shit?

Get Out? The Social Network? The Twin Peaks fuckin Showtime TV show? It's a TV show for christ's sake.

These must be the same "critics" on Rotten Tomatoes.

shit list

Under the skin is the Absolute filth of earth

These threads just confirm that this board is trash

There were some good lists and recommendations actually.

Well it made you reply, that was the point. I overdid it a little bit. The first one i posted that claimed that it was Shakespearean was better.

2/10 bait, made me reply. again

This is literally everything wrong with this board nowadays. And it's everything. And that's a good thing.

Add Inside Out

Gravity???

Whiplash???

What's the appeal of Holy Motors anyway? Like, a dude does a bunch of random shit and then it's suddenly a live action version of Disney's Cars?

>1. Mad Max: Fury Road
Aaand dropped.

Flextrek 37000000000000 Whipsnake Edition?

amazing thing after amazing thing, what's there not to like, pleb?

what.
a.
fucking.
joke.

them movie critics dont understand why people despise them.

you imagine that critics would offer some insight, come up with something new. holy motors and uncle boomne are the only movies here that really push boundaries of cinatographic language.

the rest is reddit tier stuff. DRIVE from nwr belong to this list, at being an amalgam of modern and classic movie and twin peaks: the return was great... but not a fucking movie.

pathetic list.

>1. “Mad Max: Fury Road” (George Miller)
Very good flick, not the best in my opinion
>2. “The Tree of Life” (Terrence Malick)
Incredible film
>3. “Moonlight” (Barry Jenkins)
garbo
>4. “Boyhood” (Richard Linklater)
garbo
>5. “The Social Network” (David Fincher)
Competent
>6. “The Master” (Paul Thomas Anderson)
Great
>7. “Roma” (Alfonso Cuarón)
garbo
>8. “Phantom Thread” (Paul Thomas Anderson)
haven't watched it
>9. “A Separation” (Asghar Farhadi)
ok
>10. “Inside Llewyn Davis” (Joel Coen)
comfy
>10. “Get Out” (Jordan Peele)
overrated
>18. “Her” (Spike Jonze)
Very good
>20. “Inception” (Christopher Nolan)
Good

>4. “Boyhood” (Richard Linklater)
should be higher, it TOOK 12 years to make

>“Inside Llewyn Davis” (Joel Coen)
>Bad
>“Inception” (Christopher Nolan)
>Decent
And advanced form of trolling, I'm sure.

Movie critics are almost as bad as video game journalists.

>1. “Mad Max: Fury Road” (George Miller)
Great action movie
>2. “The Tree of Life” (Terrence Malick)
Boring shit, literally turned it off
>3. “Moonlight” (Barry Jenkins)
Plebs on Yea Forums won't like it because it doesn't support their (shitty) world view
>5. “The Social Network” (David Fincher)
Disappointing as fuck, don't know what people see in this movie. Ok at best.
>6. “The Master” (Paul Thomas Anderson)
Another pretentious boring shit
>8. “Phantom Thread” (Paul Thomas Anderson)
Fall asleep tier
>10. “Inside Llewyn Davis” (Joel Coen)
It's cool
>10. “Get Out” (Jordan Peele)
It's ok, but really overrated.
>18. “Her” (Spike Jonze)
Interesting movie, worth watching.
>20. “Inception” (Christopher Nolan)
It's one of Nolan's worst movies.

>Inherent Vice
fucking based
if The Long Goodbye was a comedy

I reckon a lot of the flack Moonlight got was connected to the bullshit that is the Oscar awards. The thing that irks me on this list is Boyhood. A gimmick movie.

the list in OP*
but you get the point

>Moonfag good
>Social Network bad
what a shit taste. commit suicide.

>2010
The King's Speech
>2011
The Artist
>2012
ARGO
>2013
12 Years a Slave
>2014
Birdman
>2015
SPOTLIGHT
>2016
Moonlight
>2017
Shape of Water
>2018
Green Book

I mean, if you want to be upset about Oscar wins, Moonlight is a really bad choice.

It's the shittiest movie of them all. What do you even mean?

There you go.

>War Horse
pure cheese, m8. how could you take it seriously and watch it with a straight face? spielberg hasn't made a good movie since jurassic park

My list
All the superhero movies!

Know it's technically late 2009 but
>Fantastic Mr Fox

>spielberg hasn't made a good movie since saving private ryan
FTFY

>Mad Max
>The Tree of Life
>Get Out
>TWIN PEAKS
For some reason twin peaks makes me most mad with its inclusion. what the fuck is wrong with the critics. i mean based on the state of film and tv criticism they're pretty stupid anyway but jesus crhist

Where's True Detective?

Why no birdman

Moonlight is the best oscar best picture winner of that list. out of all the nominees it's definitely not even top 5 though

>2. “The Tree of Life” (Terrence Malick)
>3. “Moonlight” (Barry Jenkins)
>4. “Boyhood” (Richard Linklater)

Attached: 1509045019019.png (275x266, 87K)

lol not even close. 12 years a slave and Spoltight are better. I know you're going to defend it but I disagree, so there's no point in discussing.

1. Watched it, was ok. 6/10
20. Inception. Was aight. 7/10

The rest I haven't watched.

>the average Yea Forums poster
pathetic

Fury Road, Hard to be a God, and Bladerunner were the best.

I would replace Moneyball with Batman v Superman (Ultimate Edition) then it’s kino

>1. “Mad Max: Fury Road” (George Miller)
good but lol

it's okay...... i guess

>12 years a slave and Spoltight are better
this response is much worse than i anticipated

>very good but i don't understand the inclusion on a list like this other than for posturing

the kind that grow into mushrooms

>defending moonfag this much
cringe

bro just come out of the closet already it's okay
actually i got a separation mixed up with another middle east movie and i think it's good

>lol you're gay xDD
the absolute state of wokenigs

>Mad Max: Fury Road
>not only top 5 but 1st
>literally invalidates the entire list
I'm glad they made this easy for everyone.

>no birdman
Shit list

>they were lying
Have you read this list? If they weren't lying then, they're certainly lying now.

Get out in that list kinda blows all.

Moonlight is cool tho.

good list but Mad Max #1? Fucking CINEMA DUDE LMAO, but fuck critics anyways.

giwtwm

>it's really ok man

Attached: 2f7.jpg (601x508, 31K)

Based

You didn't like them or you don't think they're the best from the 2010s?

>Black Swan
I read this and immediately knew list is good

basado

it's kind of boring but i don't agree with the other points. it's a redemption story

Moonlight is rip off of Wong Kar Wai aesthetic, the idiots defending it ITT should watch more films.

was it really?

I started from the bottom, now I’m here.

English only plebs

>12. “Carol” (Todd Haynes)
Out of all the movies on this list, this is the one I just don't get the hype for, it was pretty ordinary but I guess being about gays give it a massive boost.

no. it's about a nigfag

cringe. kys filthy american.

English is the plebbiest language. Even dogs know how to speak English.

>1. “Mad Max: Fury Road” (George Miller)
Eh, I almost fell asleep at times during it.

Nat. Big milkies are nice, but in the end I'd rather have smaller ones but with a face I gladly wake up next to.

did you watch it at the cinema?

this, why are the pol guys getting mad about moonlight but not the lesbian movie

No, would that have improved it? I heard that it's supposed to be some awsome action movie, watched it when it was on tv, and while it had a few good scenes, overall I found it rather boring.

tbf, Moonlight is pretty high up the list.

i guess but mad max which is essentially capeshit is #1

t. Wes Anderson

because RoonRoon going down on Queen Cate is hot as fuck

>People don't understand why Mad Max tops the list
One mans master class arthouse is an other mans pretentious tripe. Mad max doesn't challenge you, it goes down easy its a pretty and talented one, it may not have much going on up stairs but all it has to so is shine a few pretty explosions and desert shots at you and you're smitten.
Basically it wins by being middle of the road, pleasing the widest amount of people, its a fucking poll.

>watching action kino on a fucking tv
>probably doesn't even have surround sound
get out pleb

I just want to suck on kats milkers all day

This is an absolutely fucking horrible list with mostly pretentious trash. And FURY ROAD?!? Why, because it's about a bunch of stupid bitches "TAKING DOWN THE PATRIARCHY!!!" by driving in one direction then going straight back and only accomplished their goal with the help of a Max who is made into their bitch. Fuck that movie and anyone who likes it!!!FACT!!!

Have sex

back in the day you'd get b& for smiling text emoticons newfag

:^)

>1. “Mad Max: Fury Road” (George Miller)
>Great action movie
>2. “The Tree of Life” (Terrence Malick)
>Boring shit, literally turned it off
absolute kek

WHERE IN THE GODDAMN FUCK IS NIGHTCRAWLER

Get Out was a fucking terrible movie and it belongs on no list except the list of shit I'm throwing in the dumpster.

meme movie with a meme performance
also, it's tastelessly unsubtle

>#1. Mad Max:Fury Road

>1. Mad Max Fury Road
Fun movie but not best of the decade
>2. Tree of Life
Pretentious art film by an overrated director. good visuals though.
>3. Moonlight
Good movie, most of the /pol/ fags hate it because dindus.
>4. Boyhood
Painfully average movie
>5. The Social Network
Really good movie but maybe a little too high on the list then it should be.
>6. The Master
Probably my favorite on the list
>7. Roma
2nd favorite on the list
>8. Phantom Thread
one of least favorite PTA movies but overally pretty good.
>9. A Separation
Haven't seen yet
>10. Inside Llewyn Davis
Good movie, best Coen movie since No Country for old men.
>11. Get Out
Overrated movie and I don't even know why it's on here. still okay though
>12. Under the Skin
really good movie
>13. Carol
Personally bored me, there are better LGBT films out there.
>14. Margaret
haven't seen but have it on watchlist
>15. Toni Erdmann
haven't seen
>16. Uncle Boonmee
Haven't seen
>17. Twin Peaks: The return
isn't a movie but still pretty fucking great
>18. Her
Really good movie
>19. Inception
kinda overrated but good
>20. Holy Motors
cool but kinda also boring at times.

Wong Kar Wai literally copies Jean Luc Godard and Martin Scorsese's style all the time. What's your point? All directors take from other directors.

. “Moonlight” (Barry Jenkins)
>Great drama
. “Call Me By Your Name” (Luca Guadagnino)
>Absolute fucking garbage pedo propaganda

Attached: mance_rayder_4.png (300x300, 141K)

At least no Cretino.

Drive is literally the worst movie ever, yet people in this thread think it belongs. Pathetic.

fury road was good but not that good
t. saw it in the theatres twice

No shit, it's just a car chase that looks like 300,, wtf is with this movie's reverence?

In no particular order

>Get Out
>The Social Network
>Hereditary
>First Reformed
>Under the Skin
>The Grand Budapest Hotel
>A Separation
>The Act of Killing
>Under the Silver Lake
>Incendies
>Ida
>Toni Erdmann
>Beasts of the Southern Wild
>Holy Motors
>The Tale of Princess Kaguya
>Paddington
>Certified Copy
>The Lure
>Four Lions
>Roma

Next five would probably be something like You Were Never Really Here, Frances Ha, Midnight in Paris, Inherent Vice, and Before Midnight

>get out
lol

>Beasts of the Southern Wild
fucking gross. malickisms infused with 00s indie film tropes. it's also poverty porn, and even romanticizes that life by giving it some magical realist qualities. terrible

the difference is what they do with it, like De Palma apes Hitchcock but takes the style/technique to it's extreme logical endpoints or how WKW (along with Chris Doyle) basically created a whole new aesthetic

>Incendies
i don't think i've ever rolled my eyes harder that at its plot twists

It is unironically Scorsese's best film.

Holy shit if this is our benchmark for quality, The Joker could unironically be a top 20 movie of the decade.

This desu

>Drive is literally the worst movie ever,
Hardly. It's not even Refn's worst.

Jesus what an npc

Quite good

ABSOLUTE SHIT: THE LIST

Haven’t seen this pasta in a long time, a long time.

Infinity War.

It’s the perfect capeshit.

What is The Ballad of Buster Scruggs

Winter Soldier is unironically kino
