I just saw this movie, I actually liked it a lot. Some of the drama was a little overplayed but overall I thought the human/monster balance was well done, both halves of the narrative were interesting and the humans had things of actual consequence to do and talk about. The monster redesigns were neat and the battles were pretty well done. Lots of nice little nods to the older movies.
If I have one complaint about it, the pacing was a little off in the third act and there were too many "monster is about to paste protag, but just before BOOM ANOTHER MONSTER HITS EM" there were like seven of those.
Anyway I just think you guys are being a little harsh on this movie and that you should maybe have sex.

I was actually yawning throughout the human scenes in the later portion of the film.
The human stuff in 2014 wasn't great, but this one managed to be even worse somehow.
i liked the movie and the monster fights were awesome but i seriously felt the same way. every time that bald nigger ape was on screen my eyes would wonder around the background and i would zone out. i remember one scene where the background was really out of focus and fuzzy and i started to feel sleepy waiting for the scene to end and actually closed my eyes at one point. can they not just cast attractive women? no females can act so its not like they sacrifice anything

You had the cardboard soldier in movie 1 but he was supported by Heisenberg, which helped. Also, since he was a soldier his scenes had kino military moments like the bridge/underwater scene, the HALO jump, all that.

I'd argue Glenn Close held her own and even out-acted John Malkovich in Dangerous Liaisons (1988). The last few scenes with Close were absolutely terrifying and well done.
Man I’m not a Godzilla fan nor do I have plans to watch this in theatres but why are people going in on this movie so hard for? It reminds me of when Man of Steel came out and I never understood that shit either. It was an ok movie but people were acting like it fucked their mothers in front of their fathers or some shit. A lot of it had to do with that he didn't want to abandon the role of Gandalf and that the LOTR movies had more on location and set shoots. He probably was shocked on how much of the Hobbit was just him being another prop to be inserted in CGI shots. It isn't a very uplifting thought. He hasn't done a single CGI heavy movie since the last Hobbit.
