Advertising is full of gays and progressive-women, and when you go to pitch something, if it doesn't have minorities heavily supported, it doesn't get picked up. Like if you work for an advertising firm and go pitch a commercial to a company, their people in advertising are inevitably a bunch of fags and if you don't have more fags and bbc in it, your advert won't get picked.

I live in a town that's 99% white people, and almost every ad for the local hospital has non-whites in it, because the ads are produced by their corporate department that's based in a more metro area. Literally the only black people in this town are the doctors that the hospital brought in from the cities.
