If not and you want to recon Batman canon then that’s problematic because you’d be erasing the struggle of the black community by implying Blacks had the opportunity to become wealthy lords/land-owners in the US prior to the abolishment of slavery. It also removes an altruistic element of the Wayne family who were noted as dissenters against slavery and aided in Underground Railroad activism (Joshua Wayne is canonically abolitionist and died fighting the cause).

Today, the casting departments are able to hire true to life actors to their comic book counterparts, like RDJ did for Iron Man, or Benedict Cumberbatch for Dr, Strange. Even Henry Cavill was a good fit for Superman, and Ben Affleck had the look for Batman (despite how he was handled).
