>just turn your brain off lol

What about the movie was stupid?

>great cinematography
>great special effects and visuals
>great sound/music
>humans felt believable and added to the Godzilla mythos
>Monsters felt more alive than ever, with their own distinct personalities
>Obvious nods to OG Godzilla fans

Honestly a 12/10 experience

>it's supposed to be bad

The family plot was dumb, but that should really only get on your nerves if you've never seen a jap Godzilla movie where 99% of the time the human plot is dumb as fuck.

That's because Japs are turbo spergs when it comes to dramas, especially in sci fi flicks. That's no fucking excuse that a modern Western film to fuck up this bad. At worst it should be an unsophisticated but functionally sound human plot just to pilot the ship towards kino monster fights. They didn't even get that right.

How did they not get that right?
It got them into each battle pretty nicely in my opinion.

>Think shitty family plot tied with some eco terrorist nonsense is good

I said the film went nicely into each battle, not that the plot was good you sperg.

They should have cut the two parents entirely and made the plot about Watanabe, Charles Dance and Eleven.

But it didn't because the plot, you know the thing thrusts the story into those fights, was shit you retard.

>The state of KOTM fags
Movie is still going to underperform.

Go back to a capeshit thread and dream about Disney beating a decade old film's box office returns faggot.

It doesn't matter. Godzilla vs Kong is coming out regardless and that's the last one they were going to make.

KOTM is just a trite as capeshit.

The original Godzilla was serious because of Hiroshima and radiation.

Taking Godzilla seriously in 2019 is like taking Noah's Ark seriously.

I'm a simple ESL man and I loved this...good movie bros

The original Godzilla wasn't serious either, that's like saying the 2009 GI Joe movie was serious because of 9/11.

The human aspect was pretty lack luster but desu it didnt ruin the movie for me, I still enjoyed it.

We all cheered when Kazesawa died

I CLAPPED WHEN THEY NODDED AT ME

>this movie is retarded, I hate it!
>the movie is supposed to be retarded, I love it!

What if I love the movie and I don't think it's retarded?

Best movie ever, solid kaiju fight

Cut down maybe 20 minutes of the human story and replace it with completely uncut monster fights and there wouldn't be a single complaint about this movie.

It's Pacific Rim without the Jaegers and if you don't think that's cool as fuck you can fuck off.

I wish they had given that scene more time to breathe. It's a beautiful moment.

>taking any fictional thing seriously

Pacific Rim had way more action in it.

Bryan Cranston's character should've lived and he should've built the Orca (remember he was studying echolocation). Instead we got generic dadman and his idiot/hysterical ex-wife who still love each other because muh dead son.

Yeah, it did, and that's what I'm proposing: It should have leaned into that.

It was so satisfying when the wife decided to try and pull a Serizawa by driving off with the ORCA. Tickled my shit pink watching her think she was doing something noble when I'd wanted her to die since the beginning.

kys, idiot

Kaijubros...... i cant look at the box office numbers
Did we flop?

Only serious Godzillas are the original and Shin Godzilla, but you're absolutely right, desu

Biggest opening this weekend, even if it underperformed.
