I think I am going to see it tomorrow just for the beauty of the show in a good movie theatre.
Shall I ?

Flawed, but great. Felt like an Hesei era movie
Human element is even worse in this one, and pacing is bad. It was hard to enjoy the monster battles when they are crowded out by the family and their story.
Monster action was at least pretty damn good this time, and the sense of scale was great- they made sure you were aware how big these monsters were.
I went to see it and reserved my seat but there was a group of guys in it. I told them about it and they beat me up on friday.
Have fun watching 1.5 hours of poorly written human shit
same here user, i'm gonna take my mom to see it sometime this week. i think as long as your expectations for a well written human drama aren't very high then you'll be able to enjoy the things the movie does well. i'm pretty excited honestly, i didn't hate godzilla2014 as much as most people so i think ill enjoy this one.
>movie passed the Bechdle test
Literally feminist shit.
That is exactly what I want to see: Good images!
The writing is dogshit and it gets annoying when kaiju stuff happens and they keep cutting to humans. The human part of the movie really dragged it down and some parts felt like they were dragging. Otherwise, the kaiju action was really enjoyable and there's a lot of stunning visuals. Soundtrack works really well with the kaijus as well.
Basically, it's what you expect from a kaiju movie.
>even worse
I don't get this meme, the only purpose of a human POV in these movies is to give perspective on how larger than life the monsters are
In 2014, the MC seemed uninterested in anything that was going on and was beyond shoehorned into the plot (you could cut him out of the movie and nothing would change at all), yet he takes up 90% of the runtime.
In KotM, the human characters actually are involved in the plot since both of them were a part of Monarch, they are introduced quite efficiently (as in, we don't get six hours of backstory) and actually care about what's going on in the plot and are directly involved. Plus, they sit in both camps so you get a perspective on both sides of the conflict. And yet they don't steal nowhere near as much time from the monster fights as 2014. They're just used to give exposition.
In both movies, characters are flat as cardboard but who gives a fuck? I'll favour the movie in which they waste less of my time in which case I would definetly say KotM's human side was handled better
Should I torrent this and just skip to the fight scenes?
>Camrips skipping all context
Sounds like a great way to watch a godzilla movie, retard
Millie´s character should had been the sacrificial lamb.
paki gibberish
It was quite a nice watch but not in 3D. I feel like the effects were grainy and there were 3D shadows in my theater. The movie itself was pretty great, albeit a bit generic when it comes to the dialogue. I love cheesiness but some of the bits were too campy even for me and the Monarch characters and almost every other human character felt pretty flat in my opinion. I'd say it definitely doesn't have the mystery of the first one but as a kaiju flick, it definitely holds up. 7/10 if you ask me
Really looking forward to seeing this one at home in 2D though
>Soundtrack works really well with the kaijus as well
it really was
>be Mothra
>get literally the best sounds in the entire movie
I haven't even watched a single Mothra movie in the past but it's so obvious the composer had a hard-on for her
Cool fight scenes, great soundtrack, well desingned kaijus, decent destruction, but kinda bad human/military drama that has problems with pacing, and weird murkiness of the 3d, watch it in 2d if you can, overall pretty good, would recommend on the merit of Mothra best girl as always, not into rating films but a 7.5/8
Really deeply unpleasant, dysfunctional film--it seems to want to marry the themes of Kaneko Gamera with the setting of the Heisei films and characters from the Saturday morning cartoons, but does so by either taking only their weakest aspects or otherwise removing their strengths, all of which serves to exacerbate the already-convoluted movements of the plot. It's clearly a movie written by "a fan" and as such plays out almost exactly like the bad fanfiction and play-by-post forum roleplay I used to read in 2003, right down to the openly-masturbatory references for ""smart fans"" who would rather be pandered to than see a good film. It's a bad film, a bad Godzilla film, and I really can't imagine any appeal unless you're really into melodramatic hollywood ooze or seeing scenes from the trailer on a larger screen.
>the only purpose of a human POV in these movies is to give perspective on how larger than life the monsters are
In bad Godzilla movies, sure, but the best examples of the genre always use the human characters to bridge the gap between small-scale individual/interpersonal narratives and the colossal, existential themes that these creatures allow. Gamera 3 is a well-written story about survivor's guilt and the futility of revenge, but also a story about mankind's microscopic stature and struggle against an impossibly-massive and frightening world, and pressingly Gamera is the essential element to both narratives. KOTM is just clumsy.
Kino.
You kaijucels never learn. The "critics" are on my side. Haha!
I felt it was a very faithful tribute to the series as a whole. I don't want to spoil anything but it gives nods, homages, whatever you wish to call them to the lore and backstories throughout the series. The characterization and emotive ability of the Kaiju is the best part if you ask me. They seem, as they should be, like the most important characters in the show. The sound design and the score is amazing, the monster fights were satisfying and incredible. It reminded me just of what the word awesome means, to inspire awe.
Just got back from the theater. It was fucking great. The monster action was plenty and fulfilling. The plot and characters are shit, but the Kaiju were incredible and well worth it. It was truly a Godzilla movie for the fans.
But hurt Jew critics are mad it’s didnt spend the whole film on white guilt. I hope it does well because some must have listened to what people want and they delivered on beautiful Kaiju battles.
The special effects team deserves an Oscar. Every scene was a painting.
Kill yourself samefaggot.
that one friend who still has your back when everyone else fucks you over and turns on you. Fucks up that bitch Rodan despite being a fucking moth
Absolute bestgirl
I just watched it today and it was entertaining. Human characters aren't flat like most people said, it just that the movie focus in the flat one while other more interesting one get sidelined cause they don't fit in the everyman trope, like in Skull Island.
Human side was better this time
Great tributes and OST
Mothra is hot
Attempt to do biblical connection was good.
Comedy elements sucks. Especially guy with glasses who making obvious jokes. What the fuck? He ruining everything
A lot plot armor for main character. It's fucking ridiculous how they can survive everything.
CG is not very good. Especially in first scene with Ghidorah.
But yeah great entertainment.
Going to see it alone tonight because my friends have shit taste, apparently.
She's coming back to life, right bros?
I want to fuck Mothra
I'm going to see it later today.
I've been listening to Mothra's song a lot in anticipation.

[spoiler[ Seeing as they mentioned an egg in the credits, probably. Her or Battra at least[/spoiler]
My fucken dick
Have fun, user.
Boy am I retarded and not able to spoil things properly.
Ctrl+S
Some retarded plot where this organization is chasing after a scientist and her to stop her using her magic maguffin because she was convinced by some eco terrorist that humanity should be destroyed (as a way of coping with a lost child) is not "handling it better". 2014 can be called boring, convenient a little too much, and relied heavily on a mediocre lead, but it's writing was actually fine for the most part and wasn't insultingly stupid like KOTM was.
Thanks bro
