How do you like them?

>can’t hear for shit
>can’t see for shit
sounds like a good opportunity to crush puss

That still exists?

Also, sounds like a shit experience if you're alone.

It’s fun when you’re a kid or when want to try to finger a chick as a teenager.

Worth experiencing at least once. I was lucky enough to see an original film print of Texas chainsaw massacre about a decade ago at one.

They bulldozed the last one in my city like, in fucking 2001.
It's a Hyatt or a Marriott now, haven't been by there in a while.

Enjoy smelling the car's fumes in front of you

We have one near where I live that opens in the summer but the audio is just too shit for me to think it's worth it. Bet it'd be fun if a girl liked me though

Never been but I really want to go to one

you tube into a station on your radio in your care and it works that way at least that how the one at mine worked before they closed it a few years back

Someone will inevitably annoy the shit out of you at these things.

They make your gf really happy because it's just like a movie but the setting is switched up. You usually get to see two movies for a cheap price and the snack bars are usually excellent.

I went a lot when I was a kid. I saw The Phantom Menace at one when I was 9 when my dad took me. It's not the most comfortable experience or practical, but there's something charming about it that girls and kids love.

Ausfag here. We have a drive-in that was actually recently built. They play no audio other than booming bass and you use your cars radio to channel in to the frequency the movie's audio is playing on. It's fucking comfy. Love setting up my ute with a mattress in the back and my waifu pillow by my side. Get to bring my dog as well and blast the movies audio to drown out any possible noise. Cars also have to be turned off during the movie.

>Go to one in near me to see Star Trek Beyond.
>The company tried to make it like a cool, hip place to hang out with several screens, outside bars, outside taco shops. open areas with tables and benches, etc.
>It's so fucking loud. You can't hear anything.
>It's so fucking bright. You can't hear anything.
>End up just having sex with ex-fiancee.

overall i'd say it's okay

>>can’t hear for shit
I saw Godzilla at a drive-in tonight. I drive a 1999 Lincoln Town Car with an alpine sound system (factory install) with good quality speakers and a small subwoofer. Tuned in to the local radio broadcast the stereo audio was actually better than any standard commercial cinema I've been in. I think it is because my set-up is more neutral and cinemas really push for that "movie theatre" bassy sound.

Video quality was poor of course. Without controlled lighting conditions and with such a huge size to project onto you can't expect much. I doubt resolved detail was even 1080p, and contrast was shit. There were also lines running through the image which were a part of the construction of the projector screen.

However, sitting in a lawn chair on breezy early spring night for a movie that takes place in dark rainy environments was very enjoyable.

Comfy post for a comfy experience

>That still exists?
People always say this when I bring up the concept, but I know where three are within 1 hour driving distance from me in central KY. They are still fairly common in the midwest.

Never been an issue for me. Bigger problem is people distracting you by turning on their interior lights or hitting their brake lights.

I have never been to a drive-in that did not have audio available over local FM radio. Just take a small walk-man or such with you and headphones and you'll get excellent quality audio.

>that guy who held the hold down while women characters were speaking
was my dad

>go see movie at a drive in with my dad
>brothers and I get popcorn and hotdogs
>greasy as fuck
>we're sitting on the hood of my dad's Buick
>lean up against the windshield with our hands and leave greasy handprints all over his windshield
>years later he told me that he refused to clean his windshield for days after that because the handprints reminded him of us when he was driving to work

right in the feels

My dad is a fat annoying boomer :(

>sounds like a shit experience if you're alone.
Not at all. You can go up near the front and set up your lawn chair so you can't see any cars or people in front of you. Put on headphones and have a cooler with drinks and snacks next to you and feel like a King watching this titanic screen outdoors
