Yea, season 2 is an acquired taste. I remember being bored with it the first time, but that season's conclusion stuck with me longer than season 1 & 3's did. Season 2 & 4 are the two best seasons in hindsight.

Fifth is too crammed and escalates too quickly. 1st is a perfect crime show, albeit the social dimension is kind of weaker. Third one has overt Iraq War era overtones that struck me hard the second time.
